I signed up for a timeshare 2019 that did not honor what was agreed upon (i.e. locations, times, availability) In that same year Spoke to several customer service **** and supervisors about the issues and advised that I wanted to cancel due them not being honest and was told that someone would contact me. A few months later I circled back and when confirming my identity was told I did not have an account, so I assumed that it had been taken care of. In the 4 years I have not received an email, phone call or any mail from Captial Vacations. In 2022 I was diagnosed with Cancer and my sister contacted the company with all of my personal information to advise on what my prognosis was and told that she could not speak for me that I had to write a letter to corporate, even though my condition would not allow it. Fast forward to *************************************** collections with ***********. Contacted *********** who stated that my account was not with the agency, and I had to contact Capital Vacations. Called Captial 3/31/25 and spoke to ****** in finance who stated that I would have to pay 13K to settle and I had to do it within 3 weeks. The communication and business practices of these timeshare businesses, I was not afforded any payment arrangement nor to speak to anyone in the supervisory position even when asked.

am writing to share my frustration with the lack of assistance we have received from Capital Vacations. Since purchasing the timeshare, it has been a financial burden, and the company has failed to deliver on the many promises that influenced our decision to buy.During the sales presentation, which lasted over six hours instead of the promised 90 minutes, we were told we could rent out points to offset costs, put points in ***, take a complimentary 4-day, 3-night vacation, and even sell the timeshare back with Capital handling everything. These assurances made the purchase seem risk-free. At the time, we were traveling often, and the idea of staying in a home-like setting instead of hotels was appealing.Unfortunately, none of these promises have been fulfilled. To make matters worse, we have faced several personal challenges. Despite multiple attempts to seek help, weve received no support whatsoever. We are asking for a fair resolution and our money back, as the financial and emotional strain of this timeshare has become unsustainable.

This company has trapped us in a timeshare agreement through lies and deceit, and despite countless attempts to resolve this issue with them directly, theyve stonewalled us at every turn. Were fed up and need a resolution once and for all. At a Calypso Cay Resort presentation, their representative ****** misled us, claiming the cost of the timeshare would match our vacation budget, that points could be used for flights, and that owning a timeshare would motivate us to travel more. These assurances were false. The costs far exceed what we can afford, and the supposed benefits are nonexistent. The pressure we faced during their aggressive sales presentation left us feeling cornered, and signing this agreement turned out to be a devastating mistake. When we stayed at the resort, it became even clearer wed been duped. Our initial room had a broken air conditioner, and the dilapidated furniture and amenities made the place feel cheap and far below what was promised. This was not the luxury experience they sold us. Our personal circumstances make it impossible to utilize the timeshare. My wife is a post-cancer patient dealing with serious health complications, leaving her unable to travel. We are surviving on a single income, managing medical expenses, and cannot bear the financial weight of this agreement any longer. Yet Capital Vacations has denied our requests for an exit, citing an open loan, and has shown no concern for the emotional and financial strain theyve caused. We urge the BBB to take this matter seriously and hold Capital Vacations accountable for their deceitful actions. This nightmare has gone on long enough.

I bought in to the Capital Vacations program because of the incentives I was offered. I was offered 5 certificates which could be used for air fare, 7 night cruise or 1 week stay at a resort in ** and ****** and *********. I have followed all of the rules for the use of the certificates and have been unable to schedule the trip or speak with anyone at the company. (Go CRV). I have called everyday and sat on hold for 3 to 4 hours at a time. No one ever answers and they do not return your call. They took my $150 and then ghosted me (I did dispute with my credit card company). I never would have bought into the program if it wasn't for the incentives. It is a lie and a bait and switch.

The ******* family may also call Go CRV by calling ************, with their certificate codes ready for additional assistance.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/09/2025

      Complaint: 23115299

I am rejecting this response because: I do not think it is as cut and dried as accept or reject. I bought their project because they offered me 4 free trips if I purchased. It wasn't until after completing the paperwork to buy their product that I am given the 4 certificates from GO CRV. The rules to use the GO CRV certificates are what caused the problem in the first place. First I have to pay $150(so not free trips) when I submit 2 dates of travel as choices. I cannot even find out where are my choices to travel.  As I said in my complaint, I tried to exercise the use of my first certificate and paid my $150 plus tax but then never heard from anyone at GO CRV nor could I reach them by any of the over 20 phone numbers I was given. The dates I had submitted came and went and no trip. Oh and I have been told that certificate is now no longer valid.

Yes, someone from Capital vacations called me. He was very nice. He tried to call Go CRV (using multiple numbers) so we could have a conference call but he also was unable to reach them. Our conversation ended with him saying I left a message for them to call you. He then said he himself was going on vacation so would not be reachable or able to follow up until the end of April. So I am not ready to say I am satisfied with any results as I do not yet have any results.

I did receive a call form a ******* at Go Crv. He also was very nice. However he did not have any different type of process to offer to me. I can pay $150 plus tax (not free) again, submit dates again(they must be 45 days out for 1st date and 30 days out from the 1st date, for 2nd date), and hope someone from GO Crv calls me so I can arrange my trip. What wasn't offered was any extension of my expiration dates which all expire in December. He did tell me I cannot use multiple certificates at a time. I was told we could use multiple certificates at a time, like either bring other people or use 1 for a trip and 1 for airfare etc., so again another misleading promise to get me to buy their product. As I already have a trip scheduled in September with the Capital Vacations product, it is not conceivable that I can schedule 4 other trips before December.

So until I actually can successfully use my not free certificates for at least 1 or 2 trips, I am not ready to say Capital Vacations rectified the situation.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******

      Complaint: 23115299

I am rejecting this response because: As I have said in my initial complaint, Capital Vacations is the one to offer me the certificates issued by GO CRV as an incentive to buy their product. I would not have bought their product without the incentives. I do not believe it is right to promise someone something that is worthless and then escape accountability by saying you have to work it out with them they are a different company.

Capital Vacations remains committed to its previous position. ****** is a third-party entity that CV partners with to provide gift certificates for use. I feel Capital Vacations LLC used an unethical tactic to upsell, mislead and take advantage of me. On July 14, 2024, I purchased a vacation package from Capital Vacations at the ********************** in ********, ********. In order to get the 2 vacations you purchase, you must first attend their sales meeting at specific locations; I chose *******, ********. My sales woman was ****** ********* and the Sales Manager, ****** ********. I ended up being sold on their pitch and I signed a **** purchasing ownership in their program on October 18, 2024. I attended the "Owners Workshop" in *******, ******* on March 16, 2025 and was told by the manager, **** ****, who was called in specifically to meet with me that Capital Vacations tried to get in touch with me by telephone only (unsuccessfully) to inform me that my Deed had to be transferred into a Trust by December 31, 2024. Since I failed to do so, because I never knew about it, my payout was now going to be more that 8x larger and my monthly fees 10x more a month. I told the manager this was going to be a financial hardship. He told me I really had no choice and all I had to do was sign a new Trust in ******* for only 3x the amount of my original purchase price and double the monthly maintenance fees. I asked if I need an attorney, he claimed in all his years employed there he has never seen an attorney get anyone out of their contract. He told me to sign this Trust and I have to wait to claim a financial hardship until October 2025. Under duress, I signed a new LARGER package that i was unaware of. I did not fill out financial applications, at either signing which their contract states as a requirement. The manager knew this was a financial hardship and still had me sign. I do not wish to do business with Capital Vacations. I want a full refund due to their deceptive practices. I am also filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General.

I talked to *** on Thursday and she told me I was still in the rescission period. Then when Corporate called on Saturday, he said I was not in the rescission period and that they could transfer me back into my old "contract." Funny because I was initially told that contract was obsolete. I am being lied to and not given accurate information. Plus, he (cannot remember name, did not get email, but phone number is ************) said he would send me an email with my options and I have yet to receive that email. I was also told that when I signed in October, I did go into a Trust so this entire lying to an "owner" and upselling them is so unethical. I do not want to do business with Capital Vacations. I have everything recorded and you can hear the lies from each person contradicting the next. Horrible business practice!

My name is ******* ******, and I am submitting this formal complaint against Capital Vacations regarding my timeshare contract. I am 88 years old and facing severe health challenges that make it impossible for me to maintain or benefit from this agreement. My late husband, ***** ******, and I originally purchased this timeshare together, but since his passing in 2021, my health has deteriorated significantly. I now suffer from failing vision and live on a fixed income, which makes it financially and physically unfeasible for me to continue meeting the obligations of this contract.Due to my age and medical condition, my family has taken over my financial and medical care as my designated caregivers and Powers of Attorney. They have no interest in inheriting this timeshare contract, nor are they in a position to use or sustain it. The ongoing costs have placed a substantial financial burden on me, making it increasingly difficult to afford essential care and medical expenses.Given these circumstances, I am requesting a compassionate resolution that allows me to exit this contract without further financial hardship. I ask that Capital Vacations recognize my situation as a valid hardship and grant me a release. If any specific forms or documentation are required to facilitate this cancellation, please provide clear instructions so that my family and I can comply promptly.I appreciate your time and assistance in resolving this matter and look forward to your response.

When Capital Vacation called us On March 25, 2025, they only wanted to entice us to use our unused time at Desert Breezes.  They didn't not say anything about releasing us from this sham of a vacation system.  We have demanded to be released from this timeshare.  The terms of the agreement are not being upheld on their end.  We have repeatedly tried to use our timeshare at ************** and we are told we cannot use them at the times we want, in fact we are offered other daters. However when we go to the internet we can book a room at the very dates that we were told were not available.  They are taking our money yearly for 35 years but won't let us use the time when wanted.  When we invested in this Timeshare we were told it was private to owners only, THIS IS NOT TRUE. WE WANT TO BE RELEASED OF ANY AND ALL OBLIGATIONS TO THIS CONTRACT.
