    This complaint is against Sho-Ane's Bridal & Formals, North Augusta Plaza North Augusta SC. On Jan. 24 3024, I opened a layaway for my ****** bridal gown and beaded veil with this store by paying a deposit of $250. The two garments plus 8% tax totaled $1,056.24. My balance after the deposit was $806.24. Two more payments were made: 3/5/24 ($100) and 4/25/24 ($100) which left a total balance of $606.24. One of Sho-Ane's staff members called me a few weeks ago. She informed me that they will be closing temporarily. However, my layaway was still opened, and I could continue making my payments by calling the store, but no payments could be taken at the store itself. Last weekend I called the only number I have (###-###-####) several times only to get a recording that the number is out of service. My fiancée and I went over to the store to see if a new number was placed on the door. The note stated the store was closed due to license revoked. I then checked with the neighboring stores on both sides of Sho-Ane's thinking they may have other contact information. I struck out there. I wanted to pay my layaway balance and pickup my bridal gown and veil. Hence, I am requesting help from the Better Business Bureau to help me resolve this matter. I would like to either pay off my layaway balance of $606.24 and be given the opportunity to pickup my bridal gown and beaded veil or be reimbursed for $450.24 that I already paid.     Purchased a wedding gown and veil in April for a wedding to be in November. I left the gown there for some alterations that needed to be done. I was informed by some friends that this business was known for doing "shady business". I called to check on the dress, and decided to tell her I was getting married next month, just to get the dress early. She said they would get the dress ready and call when it is done. They called the next week, the dress was ready, but I was also informed they were in trouble for not paying their sales tax. That technically they were shut down, but I could still pick up the dress. I was told that a sign was on the done about the sales tax, but the door would be unlocked and they would be there. I went by there to pick up the dress. There is a sign on the door by the SC Dept of Revenue, they are closed due to not paying their sales tax. The lights were out, the door was locked. I paid $900 for this dress and veil. I have tried calling, and no one answers the phone. I paid the sales tax when I bought the dress. Not my fault they didn't pay. I just want the dress, or my money back.

    In March 2024, I purchased a bridal gown for my wedding. I have 4 bridesmaids that ordered and paid for dresses, totaling approximately $825 and paid for them up front. We also rented 6 tuxedos, with the total coming to $783. Her sales tax license was revoked and she only provided a refund for one tuxedo, totaling $291. She never paid the dress company for the bridesmaids dresses so we had to go somewhere else

    I would like to add that I did receive my wedding gown, totaling $1900. I received a refund for one tuxedo, totaling $291. I did not receive refunds or the services for the 4 bridesmaid dresses or tuxedos
