I hired them to fix my floors. I was give a price to FIX my floors, $500 for a few different spots. The floors were not fixed by he just rubbed some putty on them. They look awful. The price was completely arbitrary an once I reviewed the invoice, they charged over $220 PER HOUR of labor and 6x the materials. Completely unethical.

On 9-15-2023 this customer was given 2 quotes with descriptions of repairs to be performed on some damaged hardwood flooring. One quote was to replace the damaged wood, which is the preferred method of repair ($1750) and one was to fill the damaged areas with wood filler, the lesser quality repair ($ 550.00). The customer was advised by the technician that with either repair, an exact color match would not be likely but would be close. The customer chose the lesser quality repair method and signed the estimate to authorize the work. Once the repair was performed, the technician actually charged the customer $50 less than the agreed upon quote. Later in the day on 9-15-2023 the customer called in and complained about the quality of the work performed. Upon looking at pictures of the finished product, we agreed that the repair should have a closer match so we scheduled the technician to go back out on 9-20-2023 to address this issue. Once at the home, the technician decided to remove the existing product installed and make the repair again with a different product and process to better match the existing floor. Looking at the pictures, this repair is a much closer match and would be acceptable repair.

Good afternoon, My name is ***** ** *********, and I am submitting this as a representative of ************* ********* Church located at *** ********** Drive in Goose Creek, SC. 29445/ On 8/25/21 an employee of Mr. Handyman ( Jene J*****) was sent to provide a quote for a door install inside the confines of the *** building. This was done and after discussion by senior members it was decided to hire them to do door install. This was done on 9/1/21. After job was signed off as complete, we (***) found a discrepancy. The door would not close properly. Rather than wait, we as the members of *** decided to repair. Door was found to be unsupported in any way on "hinge" side of door frame. I contacted Mr Handyman again to come and re do job correctly. When he (J*****) arrived, he asked what issue was, I explained. He took pictures, measurements and spoke to his "office mgr" At his point they stated that Mr Handyman was not going to do job due to *** beginning repairs.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/29) */ We at Mr. Handyman warrant all work performed by our company however we cannot warrant work performed by others. That being said, I agree with Mr. ********** statement of events however the statement "we as the members of ICC decided to repair" does not accurately describe the condition of the door when we came back to perform warranty repairs. When our technician, Jean J*****, returned to address the issue, he found that most of the trim had been removed from the jamb, multiple drywall screws had been installed in the door stop and some of the door trim materials were missing. He also noticed that there was some trim at the site that was not part of the original installation. At this time Jean J***** took pictures of the damage and called our office for guidance. I, Glenn M***** owner of Mr. Handyman, viewed the pictures and determined that the damage was in fact done by others, was much more than a simple adjustment and therefore not a warranty issue. We offered to perform repairs at a cost and they declined. We have pictures of the door at the time of initial install and at the time of the warranty call available. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/09/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There was NEVER an offer to " perform repairs" This is totally not a true statement. That was never conveyed to me by either Mr M***** or Mr J***** in any fashion or form. The video I provided shows " lack of support" on "hinge side" of jamb. The fact that Mr J***** stated, " I am not going to argue with you about this" was his reply to me when I asked for them (Mr. Handyman) to do repairs. After I asked for them to do the repairs is when he " measured 2 times the inside frame, and took 4 photos I believe then spoke to Mr M***** outside of the buidling so I was not privy to what they discussed. If the door wwas left in the "supposed" finished state, The door would eventually pull away from wall due to not support of jamb oh hinge side ane the video I submitted clearly shows no support of door frame. We should be able to have repairs done but at no cost to us at the Church. R/ ***** *. ********* Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/09/30) */ As per the newest response, it is evident that this customer did dismantle the door in order to see the supposed defects. As mentioned we warrant all work performed by our company. Because the work was tampered with It does not fall under a warranty. I was not present for the conversation with the customer so I cant speak for that however my technician was given instructions to offer a paid remedy.
