Re: Account number ending in ****
Dear ***** * ******,
This correspondence is in response to your recent complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau requesting a
copy of the signed application for the above-referenced account with CorTrust Bank. As the issuer of your
********** credit card, CorTrust Bank is the original creditor with respect to the debt in question, and as such is
not subject to the provisions of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act governing the actions of debt collectors or
validation of a debt.
Our records indicate on 7/23/2022 we received an individual online application in the name o* ***** * ******,
with an address o* **** **** ******* ***** ***** ******** **** ** ***** and the social security number ending
in ****. To proceed with processing your application, we required additional information to validate your name
and address. A letter was sent to you on 08/02/2022 requesting additional information. On 08/10/2022, the
requested information was received. At that time, your identity was validated, the application was approved, and
the above referenced account was established. The account was used for purchases and payments were made on
the account. The last payment in the amount of $40.00 was posted to the account on 01/13/2023; however, it was
subsequently returned due to a Stop Payment on 01/19/2023. The account charged off due to non-payment on
01/19/2023 with a balance of $508.37. That balance remains today.
The above application was completed online; therefore, we do not have the original copy. However, the
information we received is retained in our files. As a gesture of goodwill, a copy of the online application
information and documentation requested to process your application is enclosed for your review.
We hope this information will assist you in completely resolving this matter. Feel free to contact us at ****** ******** if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:Dear Mindy ***** April 11, 2023

Please reconsider deleting this information of past cleared debt form bankruptcy. It is harsh to continue to report this on my credit report. There were 10 credit cards deleted in the bankruptcy and wiped clean from my credit report. All three bureas have been contacted by the original credit card lenders and done as is correct and deleted their past cleared bankruptcy as my attorney stated they are held to do. This rule has not changed in 2023.
Over the years this has continued to hurt my credit because you at Cortrust Bank have not deleted this painful, and poverty noted sequence of events in my life. No matter how hard I try ** * ******** ****** I feel that maybe I can receive a fresh start with your help. You can help this entire past part of my life by deleting this from the bureas (all three) and help me to have new dreams in my life.
Im sure you understand **** ******* ******* **** ******* *** ****** ********** **** ***** ** ***** ****** ***** ****. I finally have a chance to build a new future and feel better and have confidence again. Please help me to do so.
