Torn bills from their cash machines in Brooklyn. No one ever answers the phone on the number listed. Nor would the store owner replace the ripped money. Which increased my suspicions. Because he allowed them to place the machine in his store, and would be able to confront them when they come to service the machine. I'm very disgusted, because as a disabled senior I can't afford to lose a penny; and we all know nobody we'll accept ripped money!!! This business is the card issuer of the vanilla visa giftcards and when I bought mine($70) I made one purchase it went through but, when I tried to purchase something from a different site it wouldn't go through. So I tried to put it on my PayPal account for easier purchasing, and afterwards I couldn't even buy something from Amazon. PayPal even stated that linking was blocked by the bank "Pathward", so now I have $33 in limbo because of the strange behaviors of this bank attached to the vanilla visa gift cards. I've used these cards for years as my main means of purchasing things online and now I'm stuck with wasted money and no way to get it back. I will never use anything attached to pathward as long as I could help it.Pathward Venture Capital, LLC

Hello I'm a first time purchaser of a visa gift card by issuer Pathward company. I am very disappointed about purchasing this scam card. I am not able to see or get my balance after loading 200 dollars on my card. I have tried the secured visa site and called the number on the back of the card multiple.... I mean multiple times. It's best if someone can reimburse my money on a better card or I will have to file a small claim in court or I take it to the news and social media to make sure no one is to ever purchase any card from them again. People can not be out here playing with others people money and if I have to get a lawyer for this crazy situation I will. I have a child that goes to St Jude and I got him this scam card... I received $1,500 worth of prepaid cards ( 2 cards ) from a charity after I lost my house in the EATON fire , In ALTADENA this recent January. through their child company ( who does not have a BBB account ) I registered both( CHILD COMPANY IS MYSMARTONE.COM AND IS THE CORRECT COMPANY TO REGISTER THE CARDS WITH. They show the total balance, Im unable to make any payments with these cards. I know im not the only one dealing with this, the charity purchased 2 million dollars worth of these cards. For the number of elderly that got these cards, who will definitely never figure out how to use them due to the hoops needed to jump through it CRIMINAL! I have tried multiple purchases and the cards never work. I setup a pin number and even changed the billing information that as preset as the charity's address to mine. That still didn't work. This is the worst service that I have ever been provided in my 62 years of being on this earth. They are unprofessional, have no compassion, and appear to be quite unethical. Finally, their actions are inexcusable, and down right unforgivable. In all my years, I have never felt so devalued as a customer. I have reached out to this company regarding fraud on my daughters prepaid card. Unfortunately, my address was not updated, and I have no way to do so unless I agree to either email or fax my government ID and social security card to a stranger. I was told they will file the dispute and mail a check to the address on record. Financial documents are not forwarded by the USPS so my daughter will never receive her stolen money. I would give zero stars. The company has witheld the money I put into the account and refuses to refund the $200 on the card I purchased. It's intentionally highly unethical and criminal. I had a bill to pay that I missed payment because of this company, leading to a lockout of my car for nearly two weeks. I still do not have access to my money. If it were a mistake and promptly resolved, I would understand and be patient. However, this is deliberate ongoing financial abuse.Pathward Venture Capital, LLC

I also received a letter from them informing me that I was being declined on a loan that I did not apply for. This is very disturbing. I suspect it to be either phishing or an attempt to solicit business by getting me to call them. Either was, this is definitely not a company I want to do business with. Bought a prepaid card from dollar general, that pathward venture capital is listed in their lengthy contract. Reddit is FULL of terrible reviews of this particular card (spendwell). With MOST complaints being that they can’t register the card and therefore can’t use the card except in certain retail stores. My issue is that my transactions are placed on hold for 3-8 business days….had this card for 2+ years and now all of a sudden transactions are being placed on hold almost every single time I make one. The kicker is that they blame the business I’m paying online smh ?????but here’s the thing..I’ve paid those same companies in the past and the transactions automatically went thru!! And seems like their only excuse on here is mass spam reviews with a number that doesn’t work smh SCAMMERS!!Pathward Venture Capital, LLC

Looks like a scam. Sent a certified letter. Asks for SSN and two proofs of ID to get a refund on a gift card. But they don’t identify where the gift card is from or how much money is on the gift card. And they say if I don’t respond immediately they will send the funds to the state. I wouldn’t give this company the time of day. This looks like a total scam. I’ll let them send the “money” to the state and then ask the state for the money.Pathward Venture Capital, LLC
