06/07/2020, date of transaction, cost 8,900.00 with an additional 900.00, because coating was so slick and had to redo. Not long after we started getting cracks and peeling. The owner came out at least 3x to try and correct. Each time it was such a mess. They did not cover the pool and flakes got all in the pool, one time, one of the workers fell in the pool and one time the coating never dried after 4 days and had to start all over from the beginning. I have text from owner saying he knows it is a mess. Also stated they would fix cracks. Now he says cracks not covered. It is suppose to be 15yr warranty. I have in messages dated 06/24/2020 The warranty is 15 yrs against cracking, peeling, chipping and UV protection. 1st started cracking 01/2021. They came out in April,2021. The rechipped the whole pool deck, came back mid April, In June 2021, came back, came back Sept, 2021, Notified owner 05/2022 and 08/2022 same thing happening.. I told them did not want them to come back anymore as we were not making any progress. I have alot of documentation and pictures.

We are happy to make the repairs that are described in the warranty. In the first paragraph of the warranty, it states that cracks in the concrete are not covered. The warranty is for the coating and not the concrete. The last communication with the customer, she stated she did not want us back.

      ********** ********
As I said before it was suppose to be corrected atleast 4x and You won't fix cracks. I didn't utilize your service for it to be continually repaired. We have had problems from the beginning and it is still not corrected. How many times do you expect to repair it?  It's only been 3yrs. So with that being said we would like a refund or bill adjustment so we can get someone to do the job right. And you are correct we don't want you back at the house, each time it has been disastrous for one reason or another.
I am rejecting this response because:

    Sincerely,

    Nancy *****

We are willing to fix the cracks in the concrete as a courtesy. We cannot issue a refund after 3 years. This is very unrealistic and not something any business would consider when a warranty is in place. Our only offer is to abide by the warranty.

Hello, We first saw an ad on a local TV station for Team Red Coatings in August 2020. We contacted a salesperson and asked if they could give us a quote. The sales person was Phillip Bernie. We explained to Phillip the reason for the interest in Team Red Coatings as we had some cracks in our basement and on our front porch that we wanted to conceal. Phillip explained to us that this was exactly what the Penntek coating would do and that is also had a 15 year warranty. Phillip wrote up a quote and we agreed to let TEAM RED COATINGS repair both our basement and front porch. However, over the past two years since it was completed, we slowly began to notice the cracks that we hired them to conceal, were actually showing through the coating they had added to the basement and porch. For months we had been working with *** (TEAM RED COATINGS office manager) to schedule a meeting with a tech so that they could view the cracks. My husband (****** ******) finally met with a tech employed with TEAM RED COATINGS, who after viewing the cracks, stated that the cracks were not warrantied. We then reached out to the salesperson (Phillip Bernie) that told us we had a 15 yr residential warranty and he stated he would contact the owner (**** MYERS). The owner sent a text to us stating that the cracks did not have a warranty and that he would fix the cracks, but that he would be CHARGING us a service call and that he WOULD NOT BE ABLE to guarantee the repair to be 100% perfect. We have all our documents including: sales quote, TEAM RED COAT'S brochure which states a 15 year warranty, copy of the check provided for services, and screen shot of **** MYERS' text. We are looking for the cracks to be repaired with no additional charge to us and to be flawless no matter the detail involved.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/27) */ We are happy to honor our warranty as we have done before for other customers. The warranty covers chipping, peeling and delamination. It clearly states that cracks in the concrete / substrate are not covered . "This warranty does not apply to damage caused by cracks in the substrate prior to or occurring after the installation of the floor coating system that appear from ground shift and expansion/contraction for the substate, cracking due to substrate movement is not under warranty regardless of whether same was repairs during original installation or not" The warranty is for the coating itself and not for the concrete underneath the coatings. Since we did not pour the concrete we cannot guarantee the substrate. If the concrete cracks it can cause our coating to crack at which time our standard operating procedure is to offer a service call to repair the cracks and coating. As a coating installer, we are unable to guarantee any concrete as it is outside the scope of our work. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Hello, The cracks the company is referring to was already there when we hired Team Red Coatings. The cracks are the sole reason we hired Team Red Coatings to hide the existing cracks in our concrete. Not sure why the quote sheet list CRACKS as one of the things they repair if it is not indeed warrantied. Our basement has not shifted or moved because these cracks were there when we brought the salesman out and he quoted us for the repair. If we had known the coating we hired them to use and cover our original cracks would not last or would have not been under warranty of the repairs this company would not have been hired for the job. Regards
