Ballad has and always will be the absolute worst healthcare. Ive been trying to figure out the severe pain in my lower stomach for a bit now. Sharp, stabbing pains followed by cramps and even dedicating blood. Luckily my pcp set me up with gi but this is still at the end of this month. I go to the er at franklin woods just for them to run tests and tell me nothings wrong. Now im no dr or genius but i know pain is your bodys sign that something is wrong. Ive had it with the way this company runs its facilities, all i can say is god forbid it be something serious and they continue to send me home, if it is and something dramatically reduces my quality of health and life, well tally up another lawsuit towards ballad. Despicable place.. get covenant health or something in our area and lose ballad

I am not sure why lawmakers continue to allow Ballad to maintain the monopoly in Johnson City. The refuse to allow Covenant or any other healthcare providers into the area. I went to JCMC with a migraine I was there 6.5 hours. myself and 7 others were triaged and had IV”s started we were then sent back out to a nasty waiting room with our IV poles to sit and wait. I was nauseated and sick. I was throwing up in a trash can apologizing to others around me after 4 hours I begged for just a place to lie down because I could no longer see. I was just so sick. I was again sent back out to the waiting room dragging my IV pole my arm was really hurting so after 6 hours a nurse did come out and flush it. After another 30 minutes my husband arrived and I begged him to just take me home. He wanted me to stay but I was so sick and so tired I just wanted to go home. He agreed to take me so I went back to check in desk and ask if someone could remove my IV so I could leave. The girl at the reception desk went and informed the nurse and after 30more minutes I asked again and then I said if they won’t remove it I will take it out myself. The lady at the reception desk told me so would regret that and she went back to the nurses desk and ask again. I wanted about 10 more minutes the nurse came out and removed the IV and. I left without service. Ballad of course billed my insurance for the triage and the IV but my insurance paid nothing because I left without service. I wasn’t able to drive so my husband drove me back the next morning to get my car and someone had hit it in the parking lot. It was a nightmare. We need to wake up. We keep voting for these people who keep allowing Ballad to monopolize our healthcare. These politicians get there care at UT and Vanderbilt we are stuck with Ballad vote them out of office!

Ballad Health is absolutely disgusting and should be ashamed of theirselves. They treat everybody as if they are drug addicts. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Every provider has the same demeanor, as soon as you mention something hurts they are immediately asking what street drugs you take and why you are exaggerating your pain. They talk to you like a dog, because they do not care about your wellbeing, they only care about their checks. They do not care for their patients and do not do ANYTHING to help them as it should be their main priority to ensure their patient is healthy, on top of after waiting 8-12 hours in a waiting room in a hard chair when you are in severe pain and being told you are lying. My blood pressure was 219/109 due to the amount of pain I was in. I have never taken drugs, and they told me they would not be able to help me as they had “reached their limit on giving pain meds for the day”. Which is absolutely false as I am a nurse. I will be filing this information to the better bureau as the doctors that I have associated with, have treated me like absolute garbage and have made it very clear that the only concern they have, is when their next paycheck will be. If you have any common sense, you will not go to a facility that is through ballad as they are all the same, and the employees only care about their money so they do not care how they treat people as long as they get paid. They will each pay for the way they have treated me, and one day, when this disease eats me up, and I die due to lack of their care, they are going to have a major lawsuit on their hands as this is my life in jeopardy.

I have had a terrible experience with Ballad because of the lack of communication and owning up to mistakes that ballad health staff have made. When I was admitted to an inpatient care facility, I was clearly told that my stay would be covered by a state grant. After leaving the facility, my insurance was located (without my knowledge) and billed for my stay leaving me with a $2,500 bill to cover. When communicating about the billing, my concerns were not taking seriously, being transferred to multiple different places before being able to discuss the issue. Once my husband and I finally were able to talk to someone, they distanced themselves from this consultant who gave me this information. They have squirreled out of taking responsibility for the weight of communication in vulnerable situations. Practices and policies need to be in place to ensure that the correct information is communicated. Even if this information was incorrect, ballad needs to own up to the mistake that was made by deceiving me into accepting services under the pretense that they would be covered by a grant. These were services that I may not have used had I known the cost. The fact that ballad uses messaging around storytelling and Appalachian values as a marketing ploy to squeeze money out of the people of this region is unacceptable and shameful. It is a monopoly in our area and needs to respect that fact by not using coercive, misinformed practices to continue to profit off of the worst days of someone’s life.

After two ER visits to sycamore shoals, I am disgusted. The information in my notes (medical history) were completely inaccurate. My bed smelled like urine. The doctors talked over me, dismissed any complaints, and sent me home explain if I just had anxiety (typical because I’m a woman). Doctors were very unconcerned. The nurse put on gloves then touched multiple objects like paper, pens, etc before removing my IV. I then bled so much because the IV was too big and buried too far into my arm, causing extreme pain. I bled after removal completely down to my hand. My notes also didn’t list any additional symptoms I explained I was having at both visits that weren’t related to anxiety, I assume because that would require more effort. After leaving the second time, I found this kind of lazy misdiagnoses from the same doctor nearly killed two of relatives and a friend within the last year. Every person I know in this county told me to avoid this emergency room but I assumed they were only a few people with bad experiences. However I now find consistency with every complaint I see. Also, at my first visit, complaining of multiple symptoms including shortness of breath, no one thought it important to tell me I had emphysema. This is a terrible emergency room with a disrespectful staff only interested in chit chatting at the nurse’s station. This is where they gathered for 20 minutes after I asked for help just going to a restroom. My own family had to figure out how to unhook me from multiple cords. These are terrible doctors, Ballad is a terrible company that no one in this area supports. Their expenses are triple what they are at other health systems. Politics are hurting people who need help.

One of the most worse experiences that I have had. They tried to double bill for services that I paid for on the day of service. I was threaten with the account being sent to collections, even though I already had paid the bill in 10/23. It is now 2/24 and this is still not resolved. They will not return phone calls or provide me with an email address to communicate with them. I was forced to go on a payment plan to avoid the account going to collections. They are now admitting their Billing service made a mistake. However, I can not get anything in writing or a new invoice showing that the account is clear and they will refund me the money I was forced to pay on the payment plan,

I am sitting at the lab on VannHill Road and waiting for the lab to open. Patients deserve to be made aware of changes in hours prior to the change. I have been here since 7:20 and found out that it opens at 9, I guess the patients are not important to Ballad Health. Surprise...Surprise , Thanks BBB for you help in this matter
