We attended the meeting on 7/16/24. Catered meal consisted of aluminum pans of pasta, sauce, meat, salad and bread sticks from Olive Garden. The rep gathered our information regarding our ownership and maintenance fees. I KNOW how much I pay in fees and was told I was wrong, that the fees were actually 3 times what I pay. The presentation made a big point about changes to the law that would prevent me from transferring the deed to someone else. Before the meeting, I did some research with the resort and they have sent me paperwork that will allow me to transfer the deed for a very small legal fee. I'm glad I did the upfront research. That put the lie to what the presenter said. After the presentation, they wanted us to sign up with them. When I said I wanted to think about it, they told me that this was a one time offer and that I would give up my rights to mediation/arbitration if I did not sign up. Felt very much like a car sale - the deal is good as long as you are in this room and I had to make the decision without benefit of the research I normally conduct for business like this. Extremely high pressure using scare tactics. They required me to sign a release stating that I gave up my rights that will presumably go back to the resort. My brother uses my time share now and wants it so that is the way I went. Beware if you get this meeting invitation. It is a one-time only deal if you believe them. Contact your resort first to see what options are available.Review from Nikki C

Consumer Protection Networks is the worse company we ever dealt with. We gave them our money for nothing, they did not get us out of the Timeshare just took our money. Now we have to hire a Lawyer. Do not believe anything they say. This is truly a SCAM!!! Be Aware!!!! I would like to give them - zero.Review from Jon G

We received a mailing which stated we would learn about timeshares and what was wrong with them and how to eliminate them, as well as alleged facts about ownership and fees etc. We attended on June 24, 2024, the meeting held at a Hampton Inn, in Shawnee, Kansas. We were given a catered meal (which was in aluminum pans and plastic tableware) which was a joke!!! The room was small and had tables set for a couple and a representative, noisy and uncomfortable. The representative at our table gathered information from us as to our timeshare ownerships etc. He then proceeded to tell us untruths and fabrications about our ownership and the alleged obligations we had to our properties and how we could never be free from owning and paying maintenance fees (and family members as well) in perpetuity. He stated that CPN would get rid of these for us and that was the only way we could have freedom. Of course, he said it would require a fee of ****** dollars up front to CPN. Also, a presenter spoke to the entire assemblage and spread more falsehoods to entice us. His grammar was disgusting; his presence was less than professional. This event was obviously a scam to get a large fee and spread incorrect information. The only good thing was that we were given *** and a gas voucher (the latter to fill out and send in). We also got educated on these entities who try to lure you into to their attempts to get your money! I feel sorry for the people who were sucked in to this scam type affair! I would encourage people to find other legitimate ways (which there are!!!!) to end their ownerships. We called our timeshare and found that we COULD deedback at NO COST TO US, quick and easy, legitimate and honorable!!!Review from Steven V.

Beware. High pressure close. Deceptive explanation. Dishonest answers to my questions. One day only offer. Threat to notify timeshare company of our refusal to the one day only offer and create forfeiture of our rights with resort - very dishonest threat to trick us into signing that day. Offended by the threat to harm us financially in a way that we never authorized. No business cards. No business phone number. No contract to review. False statements about how much they receive from the **** they wanted from us, claiming they only receive *******"the rest goes to the timeshare management company". I was interested in the service but not under these high pressure conditions. Room full of older owners, sad to see the same being done to all of them. Basically financially abusing the very same owners that you just minutes earlier claimed were financially abused by the timeshare companies. Lastly, flyer arrives indicating with a picture fancy stake/shrimp dinner meal for two, catered for you, but actually some salad and pasta and hard bread on a paper plate... don't expect much. Why the false and misleading advertising. They did give the *** cash gift after the meeting.Review from David S

I’m not really sure why I see the few complaints listed with this organization. My wife and I attended a presentation in September 2023. We HAD 3 timeshares all paid off. We wanted out, and have tried several times to sell with no resolve. I’ve called the resort several times to get away from this, with no resolve. Because of this organization, We ARE NO LONGER owners with any of them. We got our termination certificates in March 2024. During this process, we have referred 2 other close family members to exit with this company. They are also completely out. I just think the clients complaining is looking for something to complain about. I blame that on this Timeshare nightmare overall. Everyone is not out to scam you, and this company did what was promised.Consumer Protection Networks LLC Response

We hired this company in January 2024, to get rid of our timeshare. We were called several times until our payment cleared for their services. We got their paperwork request and mailed it into them the next day. I received an e-mail around the end of this March stating: "we should have received all the necessary documents required by your resort". I called and made an appointment to have them call me to find out what else they needed. When they did not call, I called the direct number listed on their own letter-headed paperwork and got an insurance company that says they get a lot of phone calls trying to contact the company, but they are not associated with them. I then called an 800 number listed and it went directly to voice mail, I left a message to have someone call. I then called another 800 number and got a lady who stated she did not know who she worked for, therefore she could not forward my information on to the company. I looked on the internet and found this company is listed in Tennessee, Texas and Florida. I tried leaving a review on this site. It never got posted. I then received a phone call from someone who stated they were not taking care of my timeshare, but would send an e-mail to the person who was and have them call me. I got a call from a very angry young lady who stated she worked for the lady who is handling my timeshare and they did not have the time to call every client whenever there was a change. She stated they were waiting for a legal step before proceeding and basically told me not to call until they called me. Today I got my second computer generated e-mail stating "By now, we should have received all the necessary documents required by your resort to proceed with the process" so I guess nothing has changed. I have to assume they are working on the timeshare until they call me. I find their Customer Service needs a big upgrade and will await their progress report.Consumer Protection Networks LLC Response

We apologize for any inconvenience with communication. We have tried all the numbers listed on our contact sheet and they seem to be in perfect working order and we have never had a client have these issues, but we will investigate none the less. I will have our concierge team reach out to you and give you an update on this process. Again sorry for any inconvenience but rest assured we are fulfilling your termination wishes.Review from Jack K

A scam primarily targeting baby boomers, my father unfortunately included. They took $12.5K, did nothing that was promised, and for the most part stopped returning calls. A woman in some kind of clerical role did finally reach out but said nothing of substance; she was obviously a front to feign some sort of corporate legitimacy. The documents (such as the contract) look like they were printed out on a home printer with typos throughout. Yes, this must be a legitimate company indeed! Their website looks like it was cobbled together on WordPress in 15 minutes. Under the Testimonials page, they have "endorsements" from Brett Favre, Sarah Palin, a Tom Cruise impersonator, among others. These were obtained from the Cameo service, which anyone can do for a fee (the watermark is still visible on the videos!). As for the positive reviews left on this page... ask yourself this: would a scummy company like Consumer Protection Networks not also try to leave themselves fake reviews to present a veneer of competence and legitimacy? They certainly attempt to respond to each negative review with excuses and apologia. Poor, innocent Consumer Protection Networks! I guess the customer is always wrong? Well, customers who did any kind of business with Consumer Protection Networks are wrong and were wronged. We'll be reporting to the Better Business Bureau, but scams like Consumer Protection Networks are like a multi-headed dragon. They'll return under a new name, but with the same old scam. Avoid.Consumer Protection Networks LLC Response

I have been in customer service most of my professional career and have never seen a review like this so I will try to respond to the best of my ability.
We have no way to target "baby boomers" or any age group for that matter, we try to only reach out to people who have indicated they currently need help eliminating a timeshare. I assume your father is George and he indeed fit that discrimination categorically and decided to enlist our help. You were not in the meeting but had you been, you would understand why the appearance of us ( from your perspective) of doing nothing can be easily explained. Your father wished to have a 'trade hold" placed on the property til 7-15-24 which means we can't start working on it until after that date. I am happy to provide that signed document for your review. I apologize for the copies of what you claim to appear to be from a "home printer" but obviously traveling with an industrial size printer would be problematic, however we are happy to send you new copies to remedy that as well. Yes we have celebrity endorsements that we pay for the same as any company with commercials on TV that shouldn't be a surprise nor do we attempt to claim they are clients. As far as you claiming we fabricate " customer reviews" that is incorrect as the BBB does their due diligence in investigating and verifying all reviews and complaints. The name calling or accusation of a "scumy" company is unfounded by the fact that we do ( as you indicated ) respond to every positive review and negative review posted. Companies that are... as we so eloquently described in your post "scumy" do not take the time to respond. Im not sure what the say about the multi-headed dragon analogy, you have me stumped with that one. Unless you were referring to a Hydra? Changing our name would not benefit us as we have been in business a very long time and have helped thousands of people.
In closing. You are not a client. Your father signed a contract 2-14-2024 and asked us to hold off on the work til 7-15-2024, todays date is 4-17-2024... So everything you are claiming is totally untrue and unfair.

Today, my wife and I attended a presentation which lasted more than the suggested 1.5 hours. Mostly due to my many questions. Patrick was very open and helpful. What I took away from the presentation is Do Nit Enter any Timeshare contract! Ever! Knowledge is critical. I was shocked to learn that contract not only continued in perpetuity, but that it became part of my estate and my children may be stuck with perpetual fees! That is just wrong! My 4/5 rating is less about the presentation as it is about the industry itself. It is not very well regulated. Let the buyer beware!Consumer Protection Networks LLC Response
