Awful! Absolutely HATE American Home Shield! I cannot believe they are #2 in home warranty companies. Customer ********************** is horrible and the contractors they find are useless. My AC died and they sent 6 contractors out in the span of 2 months. 4/6 said they recommend replacing the unit but they wouldnt put it in their notes because American Home Shield wouldnt approve it. I had several more contractors out for other items like electrical work or to fix a washing machine. Takes a minimum of 3 visits and a month to fix a simple issue. The contractor and the customer ********************** rep both blame each other and you for the delay and their issues. Truly horrible service. Dont waste your money

Had this service for several years. Called to cancel the service but they just continued to try to get me to stay with AHS. They continued to bill me although I did not pay the bills, had to change my bank account so they couldn't make withdrawals. They continue to call me every day! The most annoying company ever.American Home Shield Response

I have a hot water heater that is not working. I called American Home Shield and requested service. They use an offshore call center and the representatives are very difficult to understand. They assigned a company , the company contacted me and said they no longer performed that type of work. American home shield assigned a second contractor two days after the first. This contractor would not answer the phone and had a voicemail that was full. American Home Shield required me to wait 48 hours before they would assign another contractor. When I called back after this 48 hour period. They required me to call three different contractors, none of them were able to provide me with an appointment. I am currently being told my only option is to find a contractor on my own have that company diagnose the problem and contact AHS. after 24 to 48 hours AHS will authorize repair. I am currently on my 8th day with no hot water. It will be at a minimum 3 more days before AHS will authorize a repair. At that time I will have to set another appointment to have my hot water heater fixed. This is not acceptable and I should not have to wait this long to have an issue diagnosed. I will not renew my contract with AHS.Review from Lori S

Terrible service. We had a contract for 12 years, yet the warranty only covered one service call (for an outlet replacement). The monthly fee is $71 plus $100 per service call. I have tried twice to cancel my contract, but the agent hung up on me after my first attempt. The only way to cancel a contract is to call and wait for someone to pick up.Unacceptable.American Home Shield Response

I have to call back multiple times to cancel my contract because their cancellation team has a high volume of calls... I don't think it's a good look when your clients are trying to cancel in droves. The reason for my cancellation is because they find any reason to deny service and then their sub-contractors charge excessive money to fix it out of coverage.American Home Shield Response
