On Sunday Feb. 2, 2025 I had an amazing experience with Auto Zone employees in ******, **. I am a 61 yr. old disabled widow. I drive maybe twice a month, I know very little about cars but I do remember my husband telling me if I ever had the need, go to Auto Zone * not the other similar store next to it. My car battery died * after calling around I realized I couldn't afford to have it towed somewhere to get it fixed. I initially called Auto Zone on they Sunday to ask how heavy the battery is as I was planning on walking there in the morning so I could fix my car before my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. **** explained how heavy it was * asked if I would be comfortable with him coming to my home to jump my car when he was done working that afternoon. He came, had to go home to get tools as the battery was really corroded, he came back cleaned the battery jumped my car, followed me to the store where him, ******* * **** removed the old battery * installed the new one. On top of all of that, they wanted to pay for some of the cost! I was amazed at how generous they all were. I didn't accept the money as I was already thinking how I could repay them for all of their help. I offered to buy lunch or dinner, something but they wouldn't take any money. I will forever be grateful for their ************ **** was done working yet he stayed * helped a complete stranger on a Sunday afternoon. When was the last time you experienced that level of kindness? Or more importantly gave that kindness?

Do not attempt to buy any big ticket items for Autozone. I bought a transmission on their website and it has been stuck on "confirmed" status with a delivery date of last monday. I emailed their support team and got an email back saying they previously emailed me asking for my vehicle's VIN. I never received such email, nor did they ever try to follow up with me on a lack of response. Clearly they have no interest in actually fulfilling orders and just want to take the money and run. Next time I need autoparts, I'll be going anywhere EXCEPT Autozone.

Autozone has been in contact with me about this, but has so far done nothing to resolve the situation aside from saying "it will be shipped" without anything else signifying thst it has been shipped. Even the status tracker on autozone's website just shows the same "confirmed" status it has said since I first made the order.

BBB Complaint Against AutoZone Complaint Details:Product/Service: Faulty Car Battery Order Date: May 30, 2024 Store Location: ****************** Product: Econocraft Battery ********* Size **R 410 CCA (Part #**R-E)Total Paid: $122.67 (including a $22 refundable core deposit)Vehicle: 2020 ***** Civic Si 1.5L Turbo DOHC VTEC 4cyl Problem Description:I purchased an Econocraft Battery from AutoZone on May 30, 2024. Since installing the battery, it has consistently failed, requiring me to jump-start my vehicle nearly every week. I have experienced this issue over 15 times since installation.I first contacted AutoZone in July 2024 via email, but I never received a response. I have since attempted to reach them twice through their websites contact form, but I have still not heard back. It seems AutoZone has neglected to address this issue, or their websites contact system is broken. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially considering the product is under a 3-month warranty.Desired Resolution:I request that AutoZone immediately provide either a refund or a replacement battery under the warranty. If this issue is not resolved, I will be forced to initiate a chargeback through my bank due to the faulty product and lack of response. I expect a resolution and response from AutoZone as soon as possible.

I placed an online order 9/17/2024 on ************************** and paid and extra fee to have it delivered by 9/19/2024. On the afternoon of 9/19 my order was still showing "ready to ship" so I called Autozone customer service at 3:48 PM during a ****** phone call eventually was assured my order would be delivered Saturday, 9/21/2024. On Saturday I checked the order tracking online and discovered my order was finally shipped 9/20/2024 via ***** Overnight but was scheduled to be delivered on Monday the 23rd because Autozone had arranged for weekday only delivery. I needed the part no later than Saturday as it was for my daughters car and she was visiting over the weekend and leaving Sunday morning. At 1:41 PM on Monday, 9/23/2024 the packaged arrived (too late as my daughter had left Sunday morning). When I opened the package, I discovered it was the wrong part (I ordered AVS part number ******, but the package contained AVS part number ******. I called Autozone customer service and they told me to return the package to an Autozone brick and mortar store for refund. When I asked what they would do to compensate me for my time and travel expenses, the associate seemed bewildered that I would ask, and said there was nothing else Autozone could do. That was a 12m 11s call. I returned the package to a local store. This was a 16.2 mile round trip that took a total of 37 **********, I'm out the time it took to place the order, plus over 31 minutes of time dealing with customer service, plus 37 minutes driving to and from the store and going through the process of getting a return issued (less the $4.99 express shipping charge which I was told buy the store associate that I would have to contact customer service again to get refunded). My time is valuable. The cost of driving 16.2 miles is $10.85 (source: *******). I would have been nice if I was offered a gift card or something to compensate me, but alas I was not.I am very disappointed in AUTOZONE.

I am very upset because of the store manager, ******, at store #**** located at ************************************. On 06/30/2**4 at 18:57 (Receipt #******, Register #**, CSR #**, Transaction #******), ****** was racist, disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. I was there to purchase brake pads (lifetime warranty) for my 2007 *****************, and he refused to sell them, stating that brake pads are not covered under the warranty. I asked how we could determine if the brake pads were worn out or damaged without inspecting them first. Despite my willingness to pay for the brake pads, ****** refused to sell them, crossing the limits of acceptable behavior. After informing him that I will be writing a complaint he sold the brake pads. The unprofessionalism and racism that I faced was humiliating and very unnecessary. This is the third time I have had issues at this store with the same manager. A month ago, I purchased synthetic oil at 9:55 PM and asked to return another item I had bought at the same time. ****** refused the return at 9:57 PM, stating that I had to come back the next day, even though the store's closing time was 10:00 PM.I now feel stressed, uncomfortable, and anxious whenever I need to go auto zone. I hope you will investigate this matter.

On June 8th I placed an order online because AutoZone had a 20% discount for online orders. A few days later I received an email that my order was delayed. Then I received an email that my order was cancelled and to contact my credit card company. I used an **************** card and I reached out to ****. They could see that AutoZone had cancelled the order on their end but there were no issues on Amex's end. They did a test charge and showed that a charge should go through without issue. I placed the order again on June 16th and the next day AutoZone cancelled again. I reached out for clarification and they told me it was due to a security issue with my Amex. I reached out to Amex again and they confirmed there are no security issues with my card and once again the order was cancelled by AutoZone. I asked AutoZone what their solution would be and if I were to go in person to order the parts would they honor the 20% discount. They responded that all they can do is offer me a $20 credit in store and for whatever reason can't process my card online. The total discount I would have received was $72, so $20 isn't cutting it. Their only solution is to pay $50 more in person because of an issue on their end.

Just got back from dealing with the stupidest counter guy ever. I walk in with a simple expansion plug and ask him for the kit they have listed as IN STOCK on line. He goes to the isle with the plastic clips for body parts, I tell him again they are freeze out plugs or expansion plugs. He goes to another employee that is too bothered doing stock to take the time to look. After 10 minutes he comes out of the back with 1 plug. I say just look up expansion plugs in the computer. He says the computer needs a year and make. I tell him it's an engine on a stand there is no vehicle information. He starts getting uppity and I start getting aggravated at the lack of mechanical knowledge they let these "PARTS" guy have. Then he actually says," if you don't have a F****** year and make I can't look it up". That was the end of my rope. We get in a yelling match about how he has no knowledge and can't go beyond what the computer tells him.I guess that's the last time I depend on AUTOZONE for anything, there are plenty of auto parts stores to go to. NO MORE BUSINEES FOR THEM!

Ive purchased Duralast tool set March, 27 in Bronx, ** store. And since I didnt u see it/need it Ive decided to return it today March, 30. As per return policy I can return to any AutoZone store. So I went to the 1626 *************, Brooklyn, ** with original receipt. And store refused to give me refund saying I should go back to original store item was purchased. When I called auto zone customer service they confirmed it wasnt the case the store manger made up new rule because purchase over $50 he cant accept return so I called again 1 (800) filed complain against the store and was told I should go to any store in Brooklyn and I can receive the refund. So I went to another location at ****************************** and that store also refused to give me refund. I was told I have to come back on Monday. When I asked front desk person name because she didnt have any badge she refused to provide it and walked away. Very rude, unprofessional. So I called again 1 (800) number and representative confirmed again I had the right to get refund at any store. But they refused to do so. Another complain was opened. Worst experience ever. Thiss the first time Im hearing that purchase should be returned only to the store where it was bought. Please advise.
