On Thursday, August 31, 2023, I called *****************************, at MULTI-TASK REPAIRS to ask him to come out and inspect my ac unit. ********, asked me What is it doing? I replied, the air is coming on but its not cooling down the the house as it should. He replied, I can come by later to check it and as you already know its a service fee to come out. I replied, yes. My mother informs me ********* van was in the driveway; so I immediately grab my keys to open the door thinking he is in the van. to my surprise he had already been on the side of the house where the ac unit is located because he said ********, said Hi, Is the ac unit on? I said, I cut the thermostat off. Then he comes inside the den to turn the thermostat on 69 and goes back outside. ********, comes back inside tells me the compressor is bad and I new a new air condition unit. I was told by him it made a loud sound and then clicked off. I asked, How much would I a new ac unit cost me? He said, it depends on the brand and the ton you have a 2 ton I dont recommend you go down. I said, How soon can you get me the estimates? He responded when he gets back to the office. I said your service fee is the same. He responded, whatever it was the last time. I gave him the service fee which is what he charged me in January 5, 2023. He said, this go towards the new unit and I said, okay. My issue is he didnt fix my ac unit and once he left the air completely stopped working. On September 5, 2023, I had another HVAC technician who has 5 star rating to check my ac unit. I was immediately informed whoever came out before him unplugged my ac unit. At no time did I give *****************************, permission to unplug my ac unit. Before, ********, came out the ac was working not they way it shouldve been but we could feel air. I knew he did something and the tech just confirmed it. My mother has high blood pressure and being in that heat for days could of caused her to become ill. He was deceptive and tried to rip me off by saying I needed a 3 ton ac unit and the estimate including the installation would cost $4,535.00. My ac unit was serviced with refrigerant, capacitor was replaced and condenser was cleaned its been working properly ever since. I had to ask him multiple times before he would send me the receipt and an estimate. I am a federally protected consumer I have the right to be treated fairly.

I am rejecting this response because:
MULTITASK REPAIRS has committed fraud against a federally protected consumer. The company didnt repair my ac unit instead unplugged the unit without my consent and told recommended I replace the ac unit. On the text message he has $4,500 to replace the ac unit and installation but on the invoice $4,535.00. Also, he has forgotten he said $125.00 would go towards the ac unit. This is documentary evidence he intentionally used deception which is against federal law; to take advantage of a federally protected consumer. I have to repeatedly request he send invoice of payment and detailed estimate. I am requesting a refund next step filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals office.
      Sincerely,

      *****************

I am rejecting this response because: It is a fact; you said a new air conditioning unit was needed because the compressor was bad. The compressor was not bad at all and you admitted to changing the capacitor out with a 5. The 5 capacitor was bent up. You misdiagnosed the is*** and placed a too small part on my ac unit. How do you think you deserve $125 for not repairing the unit , unplugging it without my consent and putting a too small capacitor on it?  It must be a 10 capacitor you lack integrity and skills as hvac tech. Charging a consumer $125 to diagnose the problem is ridiculous because you misdiagnosed the is***. My air conditioning unit is running fine because I had a professional to service it. I will be getting a refund from you even if I have to *** you. I have documentary evidence text messages and emails. A highly respected hvac itemized recommendation of how they fixed it. I have two witnesses that will collaborate you unplugged my ac unit in an attempted to make more money. In Tennessee that is against the law to use unfair and deceptive practices.
      Sincerely,
