on 12/07/2024 I purchased a used vehicle from Beaman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, at the time of purchase I was given a temporary tag that expired on 02/17/2025. I am an out of state buyer from ******* and the dealer stated they were required by law to register and title the vehicle and the paperwork and license plates would be mailed to me. As of the time of this complaint I still have not received my license plates or paperwork and am now traveling on an expired temporary tag. I have tried to contact the dealership 5 times and only once have I been able to speak with **** the dealerships title clerk, who stated that she had the physical title but didn't have the appropriate paperwork from the previous owner to transfer the title to my name. Thus far I have reached out to the dealer on, 1/22/25, 1/28/25, 1/30/25, 2/4/25, 2/11/25, 2/12/25, and 2/18/25Business Response

Additionally, we have been waiting for the tags for this vehicle, and as of today, the temporary tags have expired. Instead of providing a proper resolution, the dealership issued a dealer tag. The manager claimed these tags are valid for months, but according to Tennessee state law, dealer tags are only valid for 72 hours. As a result, we are now left with a vehicle that we cannot legally drive starting this Sunday because the tags have not been ordered. When I called on Friday (December 6th) on my wifes behalf, the manager ***** Pool was unaware of the situation, despite my wife spending over an hour at the dealership on December 5th attempting to resolve this issue. He said he would get back to me. I contacting him again on December 9th and he said I would have them the next day. As of just 30 minutes ago I received a call that the cars Lien for payoff has not been released. We still do not have the Title, Tags or Registration. This situation is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately. Please contact me as soon as possible to resolve the registration issue, and appropriate steps to make this right.Business Response

Beaman Dodge did send me a check for $500. However it was not to cover the registration fees as noted in their email. ***** Page asked me on the phone "if you remove the BBB complaint, I will send you $500." I responded with "no, I will close the complaint after I receive the $500."
They are trying to spin this as if we are accepting a check as part of an agreement for bad service. The real case is that they are sending money as "shut up, money." Below is the email from ******** ****** who I tried to contact on December 12th, he responded March 6th.
Hi **** ******,
I just spoke with *****, and I wanted to verify your agreement.
If we pay you $500 for your aggravation you will remove your BBB complaint.
If this is correct, I will get the check cut.
Thank You,

In September 2024 I bought a van for my husband who was injured while in the Marines. After getting approved for the van I told ***** the sales person that I would get my own tags. His response due to my husband disability of needing total care he said No let me help you. I know youre tired and I want to make this purchase easy for you. I then said okay. So, I go into the finance office and I was extremely tired and I wasnt planning on purchasing a vehicle that day just to go look at it. My husband is on hospice care and struggles to breathe and I dont get much rest. Which ***** and the finance person knew. The finance person explained each page I was signing I was on a 5x7 pad which was difficult to read. When he got to the page where the dealership gets your tags for you. He never said my tags would said *****************. I live in ***************. Once I received my tags some rude lady who works in the office that gets your tags for you said you signed a contract that states your tags would say ********** *** I had to borrow ****** to get ************ tags. My registration has my correct address and my daughter in law who works in the governors office said that what there doing is illegal. Hello, on March 11th, 2024, I went to the dealership to let them know that the paint on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee was rusting on the roof of my car. The supervisor at the dealership told me that my car was under corrosion warranty, and he took pictures to submit to those to get me in since at the time I was under warranty. Weeks went by & I heard nothing. In April I went back, the service manager- recently promoted supervisor told me that I'd have to contact the dealership in ******** and they would take care of me due to having a body shop. that was false. I then returned to the ***************** told me I'd have to get a few quotes. I drive around ************ with my 1-year-old for days for a collision company to give me quotes- but no one would has the deal with insurance accidents claims only. I ended up going to **** body shop where the manager was nice enough to give me a quote to fix the issue 2500 to sand and repaint, if rust was deeper, it'll be 3500 to replace. I took this info back to Beaman and was met by the rudest man. The service manager took the quote and did nothing with it. I submitted my 1st BBB on them and the manager ended reaching out and was really annoyed by it. with an attitude told me my claim was denied. I contacted corporate to see what was denied, they couldn't tell me anything because the service manager never submitted documentation from March. I submitted the docs and claim myself with the corporate office- CM( *******) It is not Aug, and corporate is telling me the area manager is denying me issue and the only good-will is to file it under my insurance. The reason is because my warranty expired in May! My car is rusting horribly, the paint is bubbling off the roof of my car due to a manufacturing issue. not a fault of mine. they only thing I want is this to be corrected and treated like a human and not discriminated against!Business Response

Our service team is not able to determine whether a claim will be covered by warranty or not and we apologize for any misunderstanding during the initial visit. It was not our intention to mislead the customer into thinking the damage was under warranty while gathering the required documents to submit for approval. All of the information provided by the customer was forwarded to ********************** for review. Unfortunately, the manufacturer denied the claim after determining the issue was related to previous damage (perhaps rock chips) that caused the paint to begin peeling and not from corrosion. The metal is rusting now that it is exposed to weather and the elements. We do not have the authority to override their decision and are not in a position to take financial responsibility for repairs denied by Chrysler. The Chrysler Area Manager did offer some "good will" assistance toward the cost of the repair in an attempt to ease the burden for a brand loyal customer. We understand the frustration associated with the situation, but we are not able to proceed with repairs if they are not covered under warranty. We have made every attempt to assist in getting this resolved.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because the information in the response from the dealership is truly false. I went to the dealership in March months before my warranty expired. The service manager took one look and indeed determined that my paint was rust corrosion.
They waited till July to come up with this rock hitting conclusion instead of truly helping me resolve the corrosion issue. I even went to get a second opinion. & it is true and correct that the paint is chipping off due to manufacturing issues. Please be aware that if my car was getting hit with rocks a such magnitude, I would not have a windshield. I have attached emails from corporate office with the response from the area manager denying to help me. & the corporate team following suit. At one point the case manager was trying to fund a dealership within a 50 miles radius that would be willing to take on my case.
Again, the information the dealership provided above is false.
Sincerely,
********* *****Business Response

As mentioned in our initial response, we do not get to determine what items are covered under warranty and which items are not. It does not cost us money to perform warranty repairs the manufacturer covers, but we cannot provide repairs they are not willing to pay for. Nor are we responsible to cover repairs denied by the manufacturer simply because the customer insists it should be a covered item or because complaints are filed with the BBB. If the customer is upset that the repairs are not covered by Chrysler, then the grievance should be filed with the manufacturer for not covering an issue the customer thinks should be covered. As the dealer, we can only relay the decisions made by Chrysler and perform any covered repairs within their guidelines. We do not provide the warranty coverage and therefore are not responsible for their decision or what factors they used to determine coverage. We have fulfilled our obligation by submitting the information to Chrysler for their review.Initial Complaint

I was told I was ok'd for 6.5% interest. After signing the documents I noticed it was 10%. The finance department, ******, told me the finance company would lower the interest rate as the prime rate went down. The prime rate went down but the interest did not. I called the finance company and they said they never heard of that. They said the dealer was the one who sets the interest rate. If I would have known that, I would not have purchased the vehicle. I would like to return it for a full refund.Business Response

My vehicle was towed to this dealership on 5/25. They contacted me Tuesday morning, 5/28 and indicated my vehicle needed cams and lifters and gave an estimated repair cost of $5,522.83. They indicated a part had to be ordered from ******* which they ordered on the same day, 5/28 and said the part arrived the morning of 5/29. They indicated the vehicle was repaired and ready to be picked up on 5/29 at 4:15pm. I went on 5/30 around 9am to pick up my vehicle. When I arrived, I made a payment of $6,100 for the total cost of the repair which included a labor cost of $1,800. The car was "fixed" in a day which doesn't make sense for the labor charged considering they worked on it for less than one business day. When they went to retrieve the vehicle, the employee indicated the vehicle was not starting. After a few minutes, they got the vehicle started and brought it up front. When I got in the vehicle to leave, the engine light came back on and it was idling rough, which is the same issue it had originally. I went back inside to let them know the vehicle was doing the same thing, they urged me to take it home and said the light should go off. I insisted they take another look and they indicated they needed to do further testing to figure out the root cause of the issue. It is now June 3rd, they still have my vehicle and have yet to provide me with any additional info as to what the problem with the vehicle is. I cannot get any answers from anyone, I have been out of a car for over a week, they have collected $6,100 and are continuing to give me the run around. I would like to have my money refunded and the vehicle returned to me.Business Response

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to my attention. After reading your feedback, our service team was able to make contact with you to let you know about the repairs on your vehicle. It is my understanding that we are going to road test the vehicle for one more day to make sure the repairs are complete. My sincere apologies for the extended time to complete the necessary repairs. I appreciate your patience and look forward to assisting you with your vehicle needs in the future. Please let me know if there is anything additional I can do to help resolve this matter.
