Mr. J****** was very kind and offered excellent customer service, both over the phone and in person. The price quote he provided over the phone was spot-on, and I appreciate his honesty. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. He had another gentleman with him who he didn’t seem to know very well. (It would have been nice to know that someone would be assisting him.) That gentleman was not very professional, and almost walked into my home garage while smoking. Thankfully, Mr. J****** stopped him. There was no sense of urgency while both gentlemen worked on the vehicle. We hired Mr. J****** for a full diagnostic on the vehicle and to replace the front end suspension with parts we had already purchased. He charged us $30 for gas since he was 30-40 miles away, and I thought that was more than fair. He charged us $70 for the diagnostic, equivalent to an hour of labor, and he charges $70/hour of labor thereafter. That’s a really good rate for an auto mechanic! Sadly, I feel we got what we paid for. The entire diagnostic and suspension job was supposed to take 4-6 hours. He arrived at 10:30a and didn’t leave until almost 6p! He also brought his dog who got loose, and my neighbors had to help track him down. I hope we didn’t get charged $70/hour for that “labor” too! Mr. J****** did great work on the suspension, bled all the brake lines, and diagnosed a transmission leak. He only charged an extra $30 for the brake line work, which was acceptable. I’m not sure if it was Mr. J****** or the gentleman with him, but when my husband checked the wheels the next day - because we’d ordered replacement wheel lugnuts - he discovered that they had left the lugnuts loose! So loose, in fact, that the wheels could’ve come off. I drive mostly interstate, so that was terrifying to find out! We shouldn’t have to check his work. One of my rims has a nice scratch in it now too. Attention to detail and sense of urgency was certainly lacking. I will not be going back to ASAP again.
