Throughout the past 6 months my wife has been working at the local farmers market about 5 min from me. There is parking directly in front of the food court she works at and this is where I would often wait to pick her up. The company SP+ owns this lot and I was aware after ************************* there lot. This usually was no problem because I often would be there 15 min waiting sometimes less sometimes more. What I was not aware of is they do not notify you at all you've been ticketed and there's no human ticketing only a camera that reads when you enter and when you leave. Which to me is fraudulent as it doesn't represent if a car was actually utilizing the space or even leaving there car unattended. The permanent Address linked to my license plate is my parent because I live in apartments and move often. So I wasn't made aware of this until last week when I was able to pick up some old mail. This mail would reflect $170 in collections and $220 in fines from SP+. In trying to reach out and explain the situation I was met with unprofessional skepticism from ************************************* at ********** **************************** And trying to reach out to SP+ directly there's only a robot for paying your fine (which is a common theme) and no actual PERSON. Every step of trying to resolve this has made me feel like I'm being scammed thorough fraudulent tactics even the appeal process as I've heard nothing back and they don't give enough characters to explain a situation. What I would appreciate is paying the initial ticket I received the first time and waiving the subsequent ones as they do not depict the usage of there spaces only a lot you HAVE to drive though to access the food courts.Business response

From what I can see, he's parking for ***** minutes (in most cases) while he's waiting for whomever. On 03/02, he actually stayed for just under 2 hours. We would be willing to reduce the fee to the parking fees due as a courtesy:
03/12 - $3
03/05 - $3
03/02 - $10
02/22 - $3
10/17 - $3
This lot is clearly posted as paid parking, and that only 15 minutes are free. If he needs to wait more than 15 minutes, then he will need to do so in the parking structure on the other side of the building, where he can park for 2 hours free of charge.*********************

I would like to request if there is anything the business can do about the $170 in collections. You have been very helpful and I am appreciative of that as well the information. If nothing can be done with collections I understand as you have been accommodating but if any of the collections fee could be reduced that would be great.Initial Complaint

On 4/9/2024 at 6:41 PM I parked at *************, ********************************************************************, at a lot run by SP+ Parking. I discovered on my way out that the lot only accepts mag stripe cards, all I had was cash and tap to pay on my phone, so I pushed the button, gave the person my cell and they sent me a link to pay that way. Only the link is demanding $30, not $8 which the parking exit machine was asking for. The $22 overcharge was not telegraphed by the person I spoke to. I have called the number on the ticket, ************ which always goes to voicemail. Extensive googling shows no other means to reach anyone to debate the $22 overcharge. I'm going to have to drive back, to that lot to find someone who can help. My ticket number is *******Business response

I have been parking in a lot in *****. I was getting these bizarre "tickets" stuffed in the door handle that consisted of what looked like a found City of ***** parking ticket and a scrawled out note in broken english. I thought i was being trolled as i pay for City parking and the phone number was dead or just said voicemail full. I went to the website and that was a dead end. No additional info, just some ancient payment form from *************************************************************** the door and the person just said "hello". I asked if this was the city of ***** parking and he said yes. I asked again if it was the city of ***** police department parking enforcement and he said yes again. I still had no clue who they were. He was rude and threatening but never identified himself, his company or that he even works for the lot.Business response

This incident transpired on January 6, 2024. I wasn't notified until March 13th or the 14th of this notice. Just in this time frame alone would proclude me from challenging the fine within their 21 days as per their policy. This is clearly a rip-off and they way they charged me. The incident took place on Jan ********* never received any notice of an outstanding ticket except for the astronomical fine of $63.19. Unfortunately, I have discovered that nurmerous others are going through the same. The gate's arm to enter the parking lot automatically raises when you approach their machine. This being extremely deceptive leading one to believe that the entrance is free, then everyone starts receiving tickets that are "way" above the initial cost of utilizing the garage.Business response

Good afternoon,
The parking structure is on a license plate recognition system. Signage is posted at the entrance and throughout the garage. You must scan the ** code posted throughout the lot to start the parking session. Once you exit the session is ended and you are charged on the cc you added upon entering. Gates are only for security reasons, no ticket is required or issued. If these steps were not completed a citation is issued. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. They stated in their last response that a citation was issued? I never received a citation, only a bill for a larger amount than a citation. This whole charade is a scam. Besides, if there were no issues, they would not have to work out any kinks, therefore admitting a flaw in their system.

BBB, Unable to dispute parking violation on the ** Plus website. Violation **************** Issue Date: *****-**** SP+ Parking Location: #***** SP+ Parking Location Address: ********************************************************** - 1 violation totaling $49. I was a patron at a restaurant and upon parking, the employee at the restaurant said that it was okay to park there and did not need to pay parking fee because of the time. Even said I could speak to the parking attendant across the way. I never received any ticket upon leaving the parking lot, but later received citation in the mail that shows ticket in collections. It would make sense if the fee due was the parking cost, but a total of $49 is absurd. Attempted to call the company but no luck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I just want this removed and voided or find a fair resolution.Business response

After reviewing your citation, our records indicate that you were at the location adjacent to ************************* beyond the 15 minute free period. We use license plate enforcement, and we do not have a record of payment for your license plate in the system. Our Camera enforcement tracks the time you enter the lot and the time you leave the lot. If you exceed the 15 minute free period, and we are unable to match your license plate to a paid ********************** session, you are subject to citation, as stated on the posted signage at the location. We offer both a mobile payment option that allows you to use your phone to pay, as well as a payment station located directly in the center of the lot.
Signage at both of the location entrances indicates that the entire lot is a paid parking lot, and that payment is required in advance.As a courtesy, we will reduce this violation to the amount of the parking fee due at the time of your visit.

SP+ parking issue a $60.99 ticket for parking in a lot of theirs where the ** code was not operative at the time. It should not be legal to seek damages of such an excessive amount nor only offer one defective way to pay for the parking spot.Business response

I am an employee of ************ in *********, ** and attended a show on 3/18/24. I was parked in the employee parking, as always, and was greeted with a $75 parking "violation." The issue # is ***************. My plate/make of car is in your company's system. I work this weekend and will not be paying any sort of parking ticket when I've been parking in the same spot for months without problem. Attached is proof of my employment/parking contract, the photos your employee took, and the ticket itself. I personally find it insulting that an employee is being given a $75 ticket without much as a warning first. I commute 1.5 hours to/from work, so I should not have to worry about being towed, ticketed, or have a boot placed on my vehicle. I still haven't received a response from anyone from SP+ regarding this situation. I should not have to worry about getting towed at my place of work for one of your employees not properly checking my plates to see if I'm in your database. If I am towed, ticketed or booted while working for not paying this ticket, I will be forced to take legal action. Thank you!Business response

On Saturday 7/30 we had pre purchased a parking ticket online for the ************ parking for a show. It said it was good from the time we got there around 6ish until midnight. We had the barcode and everything and were able to get inside and park. The parking was $25. We get out of our show and have about an hour until midnight. We were maybe 15 yards from the exit. Cars were not moving at all. The driver in car in front of us kept falling asleep at the wheel and had to be woken up multiple times. By the time we get out of the garage it was 12:08. We are trying to find the pass we had pre bought and it was expired so we had to click lost ticket and pay an ADDITIONAL $40 so $65 total to park. There was no one there to help with tickets or move the traffic along or anything. Ive tried calling the phone numbers available so I could speak with someone during the operating hours and am left with please reach out by email. It says to leave a voicemail but that is full and then I get disconnected. I have sent emails and continued to call with no response. The ticket was on 7/30/23 the ticket ID is ************. I need someone to reach out to me and help resolve this matter please.Business response

My husband just showed me a collections statement that was addressed to him with a car that is registered to me. So, I have never received any information related to this and did not know to pay anything. There was also never a ticket left on my car. I am more than willing to pay a ticket if I owe one but do not feel that I should have to pay any fees incurred since then since the notices were not sent to me.Business response
