Consignment of a comic book Thor 134 CGC 9.6 in their July auction. Comic sold for $3650.00. Two months later still awaiting payment. Lone Star has given me one excuse after another . Latest excuse was customer payment denied due to a clerical error. Said customer is traveling and still trying to reach out to this person. Ridiculous!Told Lone Star customer is probably a thief and Ill be glade to pick up the comic. Their policy is 2 weeks after auction ends to receive payment. My patience is at an end pay me for the book or Ill pick it up from them.

Here is our online-stated messaging about duration for payment:Once the order is received, if the buyer is paying by credit card or PayPal, we receive the payment immediately. If the buyer is paying by check or bank transfer, it will take additional time: one to two weeks is typical, but at maximum might be up to 3-4 weeks. As soon as we receive that payment, we're ready to issue payment to the consignor. We issue payments to consignors once a week--payments are usually issued every Wednesday, and if you choose to be paid by check, checks go into the mail Wednesday to Friday. Depending on the type of sale and method of payment used, most consignors should receive their payments within 1-2 weeks of the item selling, with some items taking 3-4 weeks and very few taking longer than that.

This was a case when it took longer than usual, but a check for $3650.00 is being mailed to the customer today.  I just talked to the customer on the phone, and he said that will be fine.

On aug. 30th 2022 I sent lone star comics using www.mycomicshop.com over 200 comic books to sell to them spending almost $200 to do so. These comics were all kept in proper protective sleeves, most were still in the original packaging they were bought in 30 years ago. They gave me an offer of about $1300 and told me that if they were of higher grade they would pay more (which almost all of them are) after receiving them I was given an offer less then half of the original estimate when in all reality they were supposed to offer double. I then started checking reviews from other people and found out that they do this regularly to people and use the fact that they are far away and prey on people who have no choice but to except their offer because they can't pay for return shipping and they have already paid to have them shipped there in the first place. I should also mention that I had them looked at by multiple other reputable dealers in my area and know what condition the comics were in. They are running an obvious scam, and would like my comics as well as restitution for the shipping costs if they are not willing to pay what they are actually worth which they promised me they would.

The recent order referred to by the customer was packaged securely and properly by one of our best packers.  The box was damaged during shipping.  When the customer made us aware of damages to some of the books, our new comics manager decided to send replacements for those damaged comics.
This customer has placed numerous orders with us, and has repeatedly harassed or been abusive in his treatment of our employees over a multitude of past instances in both emails and phone calls, often over things outside of our control (publisher delays, printing defects, etc.).  The new comics manager decided that since we obviously could not meet the needs/expectations of this customer, we could no longer do business with the customer, and we refunded the customer for books that he had pre-ordered before their release dates.
We send out thousands of orders each week, and although we are not perfect, we receive high praise from our customers for our services.  See this link to unsolicited feedback/testimonials from our customers on our website.     https://www.mycomicshop.com/feedback

The customer sent his books in on August 30th, and we received them on September 6th.  In our correspondence on the 30th we made it clear to the customer as per our terms and conditions that We grade carefully and fairly, and we always sell a comic just as it was graded by us at the time of purchase. Should a comics grade higher or lower than the grade submitted, the offer price will proportionally increase or decrease. Should you not be pleased with our grading of any comic, you may **** it for return to you as per our retraction terms.

Customers are provided grading notes on books that have any significant flaws or damages that would cause the book to grade lower. The books provided to us by the customer were in below average condition, and the offer changed to reflect as such. At the same time the customer filed a complaint he reached out to us via phone, and we addressed his concerns and complaints. He was informed that if he was dissatisfied with our service his books would be returned to him free of charge. The customers books were shipped back out to him on September 16th at no cost to him.

I am rejecting this response because: they did not grade them fairly, I had half a dozen other places grade them before I sent them for this reason, they get peoples comics after they spent money to send them with estimates they have no intentions of paying so they grade them with such bias that its disrespectful and hope they get the chance to prey on the desperate and uninformed by danglinga much smaller amountin front of them. And when I complained that only less then 10 out of over 200 comics had notes and even their supervisor of buying ******************************* said he saw issues with the grading after only looking through a few of them and would go over them again himself so when the owner realized that I wasn't a victim they just returned them which is something they do regularly. Its a bait and switch game and

We resolutely deny the claim that the books were graded unfairly. We base our grading on industry adopted standards set out in the ********** Grading Guide,as well as our own 40+ year experience. We regularly review our graders to ensure they continuously adhere to the standards. For a brief explanation of our grading see here: https://www.mycomicshop.com/help/grading
In an effort to keep processing times low, not every book gets notes on why it graded lower than expected. Only the most significant flaws or damages get noted. When the matter was originally discussed with the customer via the phone, we mentioned the possibility of having a manager go through and review the transaction. However, after further consideration of the confrontational behavior exhibited by the customer it was decided that we would instead return the books to him free of charge.Furthermore, weve provided a shipping reimbursement to cover the initial cost of shipping the books to us. This was sent to the customer the end of 9/19/22 by *** ***** shipping, signature required.

I am rejecting this response because:
Yes I did receive the reimbursement for my costs. Is the matter resolved? Absolutely not! The public must be warned about the clear bait and switch scam they are running. If they were right and I was wrong then why would they send me money without asking for any sort of receipt to show the costs so they could reimburse me? The only reason they did that was because the average person isn't going to spend the time to do what I'm doing so as soon as they realized I'm not the average person and I started this process they cut me a check hoping that I would then just drop it, I mean they cut this check so fast that I got it before I got my comics back and it was sent out afterwards. I previously had my comics graded before sending them, now in the American justice system we use a "jury of your peers" to decide if somebody is guilty or not. EXAMPLE: if *************************** gets charged with theft by deception and the jury decides he is guilty but ******************** says he is innocent, what happens then? My point is, I have read overstreets guide on grading and had quite a few of the people grading the comics peers grade them and tell me what they graded them at so everyone else is wrong? They do not want to deal with a customer like me who is informed, intelligent and not desperate. Something that ********** says should decrease the grading by 0.2 would be something they grade 2.0 lower. So if not letting ******************** rip me off is confrontational then so be it. But after a 30 minute conversation in which *********************************** who himself is the supervisor of buying told me HIMSELF that he was going to go over the order HIMSELF because after only looking at a small amount of the comics he saw many discrepancies, so when ******************** was given the choice to grade the comics fairly and pay what they said they would, or send the comics back, we'll doing things fairly and legal is NOT lone star comics policy.  Reimbursement of my shipping cost is not a regular business practice for them so the fact that they sent me money without even investigating in any way what itt actually cost is suspicious in itself. I just want to do everything in my power to help stop this company from ripping people off because that is the right thing to do.
