In mid-2020, I contacted FWD Builders about repair and remodeling work in the living room and kitchen of my condominium unit. The work was completed in the living room after a few months, and the owner of FWD Builders came on October 27, 2020 to receive 100% payment for the living room work (described on the invoice as work complete) and 50% payment for the kitchen work (half of balance). This invoice is attached as well as its receipt. I had the impression from our discussion on October 27 that the kitchen work might be done in December 2020 or January 2021, but I never heard from the owner again. In February 2021, the freeze and attempted emergency repairs damaged the kitchen, so the FWD Builders work would have had to be postponed anyway. In fact, it took until January 2022 to complete those repairs. Under the impression that the work would eventually be done, I attempted contact with the owner through several telephone calls with voice messages, electronic mail messages on December 11, 2020, January 22 and December 14, 2021; February 27, May 2, August 29, and December 7, 2022, and a text message on February 3, 2023. I did not receive any response at all until April 14, 2023, when I happened to telephone from my office and the owner answered. I then asked him what his plans were to complete the work, and he told me that he did not have any. I asked him what I should do, and he said that he had no idea. Before hanging up, I asked him to think about it and contact me with a suggested resolution, but he never did. I am owed a minimum of $1925.00 for the 50% deposit on work never done in the kitchen. As you can see, I was informed that the work would never be done on April 14, 2023.
