Parts ********** did not honor warranty of a car battery i purchased in 2019. The battery has labels, barcode and is identifiable a honda product. when i purchased they promised exchange if it failed in less than 3 years. After several calls trying to find a solution, they just said they could do anything if i didn't have the original receipt, which it was not made to last 3 years and was not told that i would need an original receipt back then. They used the excuse of not keeping records of sales to avoid honoring the warranty. I had to purchase another battery to drive my vehicle and when i got home and ready to install it he gave me the wrong size battery. i took it back to get it exchanged and another employee said that it was not his problem. he didn't apologize or acknowledged the inconvenience. i have proof of purchase on my bank statement but not the original receipt.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I have not been in contact with Honda, as the complaint mentions. I need an extension to resolve this problem. I would rather communicate via email than phone calls, since I work and won't be able to answer immediately.

On August 20, 2021 I Kwaniece ********, walked into Vandergriff Honda as a 22 year old first time buyer to purchase a vehicle of my choice. I walked into the dealership with a check from my bank which is navy federal in the amount of $30,050 ready to purchase a reliable vehicle. As I stated I am first buyer and a female. I originally wanted to purchase a brand new car and ended up purchasing a used vehicle to fit my budget better. In the midst of looking for which car would be a great fit for me I realized a used car would be better for me my sales rep insisted I should get a 2021 Honda Accord sport brand new instead of a 2019 I told him if he could fit the car in my budget then so be it, Ive never purchased a vehicle or know nothing about cars I just knew I had the money to get a vehicle. He basically mislead me and did NOT have authorization to run my credit there was no need to. I had a check for my vehicle and now my score dropped 50 points with up to 6 inquires now on my credit.Business response

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the credit application you completed during your recent vehicle purchase on August 20, 2021. I understand your concerns with regard to protecting your credit score. However, after reviewing your file I understand that you specifically authorized our dealership to seek adequate financing on your behalf to procure a new vehicle. This authorization is reflected by the credit application you completed and signed during your visit to our dealership. You have expressed concern that our dealership ran your credit score 6-7 times. Please understand that when a customer requests financing, we submit their application to multiple financial institutions in order to obtain the best possible deal.
This practice is industry standard and does not cause an undue impact on consumers credit. In fact, most credit scoring systems count multiple inquiries for auto loans within a certain time frame as a single inquiry. In your case, depending on when you obtained your pre approval from Navy ********************* it might very well have counted as a the same inquiry as the application you completed with our dealership. For more information about auto loan inquires on your credit score please visit the following link from Experian. Https://www.experian.com/blogs/ask-experian/impact-on-credit-scores-of-inquires-for-an-auto-loan/
While you ultimately elected to utilize Navy ********************* you also authorized our team to apply for credit on behalf with our network of lenders. For this reason, I cannot represent that those inquires were conducted in error.
