Absolutely the worst company I have dealt with in years. Predatory contracts that have people crying in the gym asking to be let out of it. They charge hidden fees, too. Oh, you're a black card member? Oh, you're not under contract? Well, you get the surprise annual fee of $150 every year. Surprised? Oh well, better pay it, or they get to charge you an 80% late fee($135)! Don't like it? Better cancel by the 10th of the month, or they get to charge you for another month you don't want and can't use since you canceled your account! How do you cancel? You have to go into your "home gym" which they pick when your membership starts and they won't change it unless you can prove a "good reason" for moving, they specifically told me a death in the family is pretty much the only excuse they accept anymore. You also have to print out the cancelation form, I went into the gym three times to cancel, and they never had any printed out forms. Don't like it? Try calling their customer service, populated with the least professional human beings you'll ever have the displeasure of interacting with. They are pushy ignorant frat **** that threaten you if you try to cancel or get a refund and can see all your information. Home address, date of birth, payment methods, the works. Please stay as far from this company as you can. THEY ARE PREDATORS.

I have been a member here at Planet Fitness in *****, ** for a few years now. When I started going there everything was spotless but after covid it all went down hill. Many broken machines, filthy, & today I went in a tanning bed that had a ****** rag on the little table where they keep the cleaning spray! I don't blame the employees because they should not have to pick that up, but I made them aware & they were just as disgusted. It needs to be cleaner & needs new equipment!!!

I downloaded the app to use to get in and now I'm been told that l signed up for the black membership by downloading the app? How is that possible, l never signed up for the black card, but l was been charged like l did.How can simply downloading the app automatically make you a black card member. I can't find anyone to talk too about it.

Judging from the 1 star ratings, this is a sorry company to do business with. Turns out if you don't give them your bank account information, you can't join or get a black card membership. They have no allowance for debits to credit cards. I don't give out my bank information to anyone and I am insulted when someone has the audacity to ask for it. If Planet Fitness's records are breached by hacker, is Planet Fitness liable? No, because of the agreement they make you sign. In terms of your bank, you are liable if you do not inform your bank that your data has been compromised. Even if you do inform your bank within a certain time frame, you are liable up to certain limits. It's all a hassle risk that PF imposes on you when you give them your bank information. I just won't do business with these people.

I was a black card member and wanted to downgrade to a classic membership. The manager on duty told me that it was taken care of. After checking an account two months later I realized that I was still being charged for the black card membership. When trying to address the issue with the same manager, he told me that he would credit my account for the extra money being taken out of my account and give me a month free seeing that I was overcharged. He stated that I would have to sign an updated agreement for equipment safety. Without thinking anything of it, I signed the agreement not really looking over the small print. Black card prices continued to be charged to my account. Completely being over the situation I decided that it was time to cancel my membership seeing that they couldn't do something as simple as change the withdrawal amount from my account. Turns out that when I signed the agreement, it was acutally another black card contract with a month credit for three referrals as black card members. I never referred anyone to join Planet Fitness. The associates couldn't tell me who the members were. False reports were made so that the manger could retain a black card member and take credit for the 3 more false members. A shady technique used to look good for an upcoming promotion opportunity. It was sketchy and very unethical. I had to pay an early termination fee for a membership that I didn't want and I would highly recommend anyone considering doing business with this franchise think hard and think twice before signing any lines. I went in with as a simple task as downgrading my membership and got tricked into signing an agreement for a membership that I already had. On top of paying for a membership that I didn't want, I had to pay more money to get out of the contract that I didn't know taht I was signing. Very upsetting to say the least.

I joined last March, went twice over the next month, then due to job change and life stuff, I didnt go again. I decided yesterday 9/21/22, I would cancel instead of continue paying and not using my membership. I went into my Planet Fitness to do so. I was told that there would be a cancellation charge of $58.00 dollars. I told them I was not informed of that when I joined. The Manager stated its in your contract. I then told her I specifically asked the person doing my membership if I could cancel at any time like I had seen on the Planet Fitness commercials, he said yes! When the Manager continued to insist it was in the contract, I said forget it, DONT cancel my membership, Im not paying $58.00, and left. Today I was doing a mobile deposit in my account and not only was there a $58.00 fee from Planet Fitness taken out of my account, there were THREE $58.00 fees taken out. I called PF and was told they cannot reverse the charges I would have to call their *********** I do that and I am told they cannot reverse the fees I need to call my local PF. I explained I had done that and was told to call you. I was back and forth for over two hours! PF then told me when I called back that I would have to bring in a Bank Statement! Their MISTAKE and they want me running around to resolve their mistakes!! BS!! I called my Bank and they put in a dispute against the charges. Now I have to wait up to TEN day to get my money back! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANY PF AGAIN!

This business has advertised $1 down $10 a month offer. When trying to acquire this offer the business require a credit card and routining and checking account number. I am fine with the credit card but not checking account information. Is this a legal action on the part of planet fitness.
