I am filing a complaint against Homeaglow for misleading advertising and unauthorized charges.I purchased a $19 cleaning service through an Instagram ad, which resulted in a total of $20.68 (including taxes). However, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $59 and $64.23 without my consent. When I contacted customer service, they claimed I had unknowingly signed up for a 6-month membership and now owe them $75 for supposed cancellation for something that I never signed up for. This information was never disclosed in the ad or at checkout.I am requesting a full refund of the unauthorized charges ($59 and $64.23) and an explanation of why I was charged for a membership I did not agree ********** Name: Homeaglow Transaction Date: March-******* Total Charges: $20.68 (initial) + $59 (unauthorized) + $64.23 (unauthorized)Issue: Misleading advertising, bait-and-switch, unauthorized charges Service Address: ************************************ Buyer Full Name: Lord (****) ****** I seek prompt resolution of this matter.Business Response

Hi Lord,
This is our response to your complaint submitted on 4/15/2025 and assigned an ID of ********.
I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, but please know that we continuously make efforts to be transparent about the service being provided by presenting the terms on every step during and after your voucher purchase. This is to confirm that the voucher you purchased came with a ForeverClean membership, which is set to start the moment your voucher gets used and applied to a completed cleaning.
Based on your account history, you had your first cleaning last 3/21/25 with cleaner *****, your 3-hour voucher was applied, and that's when your ForeverClean membership started. And just like most subscription services, ************ renews automatically each month. Payments are due immediately, regardless of usage. This ensures uninterrupted access to its benefits.
Nonetheless, this is to confirm that your ForeverClean Membership has already been canceled effective 4/18/25. Rest assured that you will not be charged the membership fee again moving forward. I have made sure that you do not have an active cleaning plan or any upcoming appointments. Therefore, no charges will be made unless you book and complete a new appointment.
Regarding your refund request, you may refer to the email we sent last 4/18/25. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to let us know.

I am rejecting this response because it doesn't talk about the bait and switch that the company did on me. Also, what about the excess charges applied in March. The response doesn't talk about whether I will receive the refund and if so, how soon. This is not to mention the fact that terrible inconvenience and hassle is caused to customers like me for the company's bait and switch approach. No wonder, all the forums are full of complaints against the company

I saw a ad for homeaglow where you can get a cleaning at $19, the cleaning would be for 3 hrs. I signed up for the $19 cleaning just tot try out the service and realized I was placed into a monthly contract that would charge me $52 a month. I tried to cancel and was given 2 options. Option one was to pay the company $183 dollars to cancel or option 2 receive a credit on my account off my next **********************. The website also said that if you turned off reoccurring cleanings I would not be charged. I turned off the reoccurring cleanings and removed my card from the website. The website would not let me remove my debit card unless I put another card on file. I put a card that I had from college on file. I do not use this card. I put this card there because the website would not let me take my debit card off. I reported homeaglow to the ************************ on January 23, 2025 report number ********* for unfair and illegal business practices. I also had my bank block homeaglow from further attempted transactions. From January- April 2025 homeaglow has continued to charge the card that was removed from their website, my bank alerting me each time and letting me know the transaction was blocked. As of April 12th 2025 homeaglow changed their name so that the bank would not block them and took $158.76 from my account. This was 3 months worth of payments without my consent and the card that was charged was not on file via the website for authorization. I contacted my bank and my card was replaced. I contacted the ************************ to update my complaint which has not been updated to an identity theft report, report number *********. I was also instructed to file a police report which I will do today 04/15/2025. I emailed homeaglow, they refused to acknowledge that the card used was not authorized and they told me the money they took is not refundable. I was told Im locked into a 6 month membership with ************ unless I pay $183 to cancel.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: your proposed resolution regarding the refund for the unauthorized charge on my account. Being told that it will take one to two billing cycleswhich equates to one to two monthsfor a refund is completely unacceptable.Homeaglow withdrew funds from my account without my authorization, and I am demanding that the full amount be returned to me immediately. This was not a valid charge, and delaying the return of my money only adds further frustration to an already unacceptable situation.
I expect confirmation that my refund is being processed and will be deposited back into my account without further delay.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

We payed for a 6 hour cleaning on 9Apr25. ******** sent a cleaner to our home that ruined our brand new marble countertop. The vanity and countertop set was purchased in Oct24 for 709 dollars. We provided photos of the damages, a receipt of the purchase and quotes for similar vanities. We also tried to repair but the chemicals used made a lot of much damage.Homeaglow responded with saying the maximum amount they will pay is 250 or three times our cleaning cost, which was discounted due to it being our first cleaning with the company.Business Response

Hi Thanri,
This is our response to your complaint submitted on 4/14/2025 and assigned an ID of ********.
Were truly sorry to hear about the damage to your marble countertop and completely understand how upsetting and frustrating this experience must be, especially given the investment and care youve made in your home. We know how important it is to feel confident and secure in the services you receive, and its incredibly disappointing when that trust is compromised. Please know that weve carefully reviewed the documentation you provided, and we genuinely appreciate the time and effort youve taken to share the photos, receipts, and repair attempts.
Wed like to let you know that your claim has been reviewed and processed. As outlined in Homeaglows resolution policy, claim reimbursements are limited to three times the cost of the original appointment. Since your April 9 cleaning was $106.04, the maximum eligible reimbursement for this claim is $318.12. You can find more details in our Theft & Damage Policy here: ********************************************.

I am rejecting this response because:I understand that it is their policy not to refund a certain amount over the cost of the service, however the damages are double and they were a result of negligence by their staff. How is it okay to not pay for damages they caused.
We provided the company with damage photos, quotes for replacement and receipt of the vanity purchased in 2024. We also said we would be okay if they payed for repairs as well which are also more the 300 dollars.

Homeaglow uses predatory marketing tactics. First they lure you in with a discounted cleaning voucher - $19 for 3 hours of cleaning, and ask you for a card just in case there are unforeseen charges, etc. What they don't tell you is that once the cleaning is completed, they automatically enroll you in a $52 a month membership - that has zero benefits, and mandatory 6 month period that you must remain a member unless you pay them an additional $190. There is no mention of this anywhere on their website. This company is running a complete scam. I want my $52 back and I want my membership cancelled. The cleaner didn't even do that good of a job and I don't see myself using this service for the foreseeable future.Business Response

This is our response to your complaint submitted on 4/14/2025 and was assigned an ID of ********.
I'm sorry to hear that the terms of your voucher was not clear to you. Please know that we've made every effort for the terms and conditions to be visible upon purchase and it was never our intention to mislead our customers. Unfortunately, due to your agreement to these terms during your voucher purchase, we are unable to cancel your ForeverClean without charging the Early Termination Fee and the ForeverClean membership charges are valid and non-refundable. - Reduced your monthly fee from $49/mo to $41.65/mo (tax may apply)
- Updated your minimum commitment term from 6 to 5 paid months.
- Kept your 0.5-hour voucher valid and will automatically apply if you book another appointment

I am rejecting this response because: even paying $49 a month for a membership that does literally nothing is too much. A customer is still required to pay full hourly rate for a cleaner. This is just a way to milk customers for the audacity to fall for a "Discounted Trial" which in effect is just a scam to rope people into the automatic membership, which no one would sign up for if we weren't forced into it. You know it's a scam, or else you wouldn't require a cancellation fee this high. Nothing short of free full termination would satisfy me. I have no interest in ever using your service again, and I actively advertise to others seeking home cleaning not to use this service as well.

Purchased cleaning services for $79 on April 10. Cleaning completed on April 11. After the cleaning, my credit card was charged $49 for a cleaning membership. When I tried to cancel, there was a $267.50 cancellation fee. I contacted customer service to cancel and get a refund of my $49, and they referred me back to their website. After getting their response, I looked online and found I am not the only one taken advantage of.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I read all the documents that I signed including the statement of work and the agreement and nowhere did it say anything about a membership. That's my point which is why I'm bringing it to your attention. You sneak it in and that's not consumer friendly, it's very deceiving. You know what you're doing since you already have a document prepared to send people when they complain about it and want a refund. All I'm asking for is a refund of $49 because it was charged without my permission. I don't even know how you got my credit card information when I paid with ****** so that's very suspicious as well. Your solution is to have me to pay $267 in exchange for nothing. That doesn't seem like a logical resolution. Please process my $49 refund.
Thank you.
