I just enrolled my son in his 2nd year at Wilson Hill Academy. I have had nothing but positive interactions with the school. The previous reviews given are clearly coming from people who don't bother to read the terms and conditions or for some reason don't think it applies to them. This school has high standards and it is the responsibility of the parents to understand what they are and determine whether or not their child has the capacity to handle it. They are no different than most private schools that do not give refunds because you decide to pull your child out. They have financial obligations to meet just like any other business.

I question the financial integrity of Wilson Hill Academy. A few years ago, they suddenly demanded a one-time $200 fee that came out of nowhere for students who were already enrolled. In another incident, we registered our son in February of that year for a fall course. During the summer we received an email informing us the instructor (who was very reputable) was resigning and being replaced by someone brand new. While I understand circumstances had changed, I took issue that Wilson Hill refused to give us a full refund and we paid several hundred dollars for a class my son never took. In this regard, Wilson Hill used a double standard. When changes occured on their end, they nonetheless demanded payment in full. However, by their own policy, NO refunds were given two weeks after payment, period. Wilson Hill was struggling financially to make ends meet and it showed with deceptive practices towards customers.

Wilson Hill Academy offers college prep courses that are engaging and inspiring. The quality of education rivals high dollar prep schools. The best thing is the teachers and the ********************* Students learn to think and are not indoctrinated to parrot the views of their teachers. My daughter was better prepared for college than her peers after graduating from WHA. If you want check the box type of classes, WHA is not for you. WHA classes are rigorous with purposeful assignments void of fluff. This is my sons sixth year taking classes at WHA. Both of my kids had the choice to go to a brick and mortar high school, but both preferred Wilson Hill. The biggest mistake new families make is taking too many classes. We started with 3 classes. The most we ever did in a year was 5 classes. Five classes at Wilson Hill is a demanding course load.

Way too much homework, expect more of the students than is expected of a college student. Most of the students are sheltered and wish for no social life, so the school expects it is fine to give enough homework to last around 10 hours a day, plus the weekends, as all the work is due Monday morning at 8am rather than Saturday night or Friday night. Many students are depressed and struggle with severe mental health from not leaving the house. Would not recommend at all.

This school is just another example of an educational money grab. No real care for the student of family. All fake *********************************. I indicated early on that my student wasnt succeeding in their environment. They offered a conversation with my student and praying for him. By the end of the first semester when he wasnt passing and had fallen into a deep depression (which was NEVER the case in public school), I told Wilson Hill I needed to withdraw. My student wanted to commit suicide he hated this school so much. When I expressed this to Wilson Hill they politely said no problem, no refund, good luck. Interesting how they make you pay for the whole year up front. HUGE MISTAKE. Run from this school. Run fast.
