I bought two TorqueBalls at $75.00 each, which I could not use due to the weakness of my hand. I purchased the merchandise for the purpose of strengthening my hand; however, you need sufficient hand strength in order to operate the TorqueBall, and I do not have hand strength. I asked for authorization to return the merchandise and a return address. ***** **** refused to accept the merchandise and stated that he could not accept a return of merchandise once it is opened. It is necessary to open the merchandise in order to use it. Since I cannot use it, I'm entitled to a full refund. There are no supporting documents other than emails from TorqueBall.Initial Complaint

Purchased a TorqueBall. Was not satisfied and returned for a refund. Shipment was refused because it wasnt in the original packaging. Returned in original packaging with reference number on the label. Shipment refused because they couldnt read it off the original shipping label. Ive gone back and forth with someone allegedly names ***** ****. Incomplete return instructions, then when package was refused, nor nitpicking instructions. All this nonsense has run out the 90-day return window. The TorqueBall website clearly states I can return for a full refund if not satisfied. ***** **** claims used items are subject to different rules, never states what they are and claims a used item cant be returned for full refund. This person moves the goalposts, states illogical things like the original shipping label wouldnt need to be covered because the item hadnt been shipped. Says package must be unopened for a refund, which contradicts the guarantee. This runaround is nothing more than gaslighting and fraud.Initial Complaint

The quality of the product sent by Torque Ball was not as advertised. I tried to cancel the order after reading a number of reviews but they would not allow me to cancel the order as it already shipped. Their customer service instructed me to return the product using the directions provided inside the package. There were no directions on returning the product in the package. When I contacted customer service again, they instructed me to ship the product in the original packaging to their address. I followed their instructions and shipped the product. The return package was sent back to me because Torque Ball refused to accept the package from ****, so **** had no choice but to return it to the sender (i.e., me). I contacted ****** Ball customer service a third time, they said they would look into the issue, but they never got back to me. Three weeks later, I contacted them again about why the return was not accepted. They replied to say that their mailroom could not accept the package because it was not in the original packaging. This was not true, as I returned their product in the exact packaging in which I received it. Torque Ball expected me to pay to mail the product back to them again with no guarantee that they would accept the package. With the money I was spending to ship the product back to Torque Ball, it made the refund from Torque Ball pointless. I think that Torque Ball is misleading customers by sending them a product that doesn't match the quality of the product their advertise. They then avoid having to provide refunds by making it so difficult to return the product that most people probably just give up. I think they are running a scam.Initial Complaint

I purchased an item from a company called Torqueball. The order was processed under the name Unusual Joy. When I received the order, the item was NOT the one advertised on the website. It looked different, and did not have the counter on it. The item picture on their website had the name Torqueball right on their product. The item I received did not. Additionally, the item stopped working within 3 minutes of attempting to use it. When I realized I had been sent not only the wrong item, but a faulty one, I contacted the company and was advised by "*****" to return it for a refund. I spend money to return the item and my return was REFUSED and the item was sent back to me. When I emailed "*****" about this he advised me that I had not opened their company portal to look at the video instructions. No portal information had been provided to me and logging into a portal was NOT part of their terms of service. An online search shows MULTIPLE complaint of the same nature: not receiving the item I paid for, item was broken, and delivery was refused. I am asking for my refund in the amount of $59.98 and for reimbursement in the amount of $11.20 for postage, since I paid for the return that was refused.Initial Complaint

August 10, 2024 I purchased a TorqueBall online. Once it was finally delivered, I found that they shipped the wrong product. I emailed **************** and was told that the product I received was the new version and that I should keep it. I didn't want to keep it, seemed pretty scammy so I opted for a refund. Was told that would be fine. I shipped it back (in a box that wasn't the original box) and it was rejected. I emailed ****************, I was told that since it wasn't in the original packaging they wouldn't accept it and that it was being sent back to me. I never got it back. I don't want it back. I want TorqueBall to be more honest with their customers. I'm not the only one; upon a quick ****** search (that I should have done in the first place) I found that many others have been duped by TorqueBall. It's not the end of the world obviously; I just want people and the businesses they work for to be better. In general. Just frickin be better. At least try. A little. I'd love a refund if possible but the world will turn if I don't. Just annoyed.Initial Complaint

In September I responded to a ********/****** ad for the TorqueBall hand exercise device and purchased one from the company.************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** On 7/23/2024 I received an email notification from a company named Unusual Joy that the TorqueBall had been shipped (from *****). I received the shipment on 10/4/2024 and opened it to find that I had received a Gyro Ball rather than a TorqueBall. I spent $60 plus shipping for a TorqueBall while the Gyro Ball is sold on ****** for $10-$15. I immediately contacted their customer service via email to notify them that they had sent the wrong product. The customer service *********** as follows,Dear *** **********,I understand your frustration regarding the product you received. However, I would like to clarify that the Torqueball is indeed a type of gyro ball, albeit with their patented rotor designed for rehabilitation and strengthening. This is why it is not available for the same price as the cheaper plastic toys.I also noticed that you did not visit our welcome portal to read the manual. I highly recommend doing so, as it contains important information about the Torqueball and its proper use.If you still wish to return the product, please let me know and I will provide you with the necessary instructions. This correspondence was with ***** **** at Unusual Joy. After multiple emails back and forth about Gyro Ball not being the advertised TorqueBall and Return Authorization and who would pay for return. It became clear that there was never any intention to provide a TorqueBall and I should be satisfied with what was sent and I'd have to pay for the return. Also, they required that the return be in unopened, original packaging essentially making it impossible to return. I began researching to see if this was happening to other people and of course it is. They are denying shipments.Initial Complaint

I ordered a TorqueBall (single unit) at the sale price of $49.00 on ************************************** After my purchase, I did not receive an email notification, so I checked my online credit card statement only to find I was billed $166.37 (for 3 units + Warranty). I sent an email to customer service **** explaining the situation and told them I only wanted the one unit and no warranty. The customer **** ***lied that all I needed to do was to return the additional two units and that they would refund the additional cost. The items came in a plain white plastic bag/envelope. Upon receipt of the products, I noticed that I did not receive the item as advertised on their website but a similar item labeled as Gyro Ball. I had seen this **** Ball product selling for significantly less on ******, but I wanted and ordered the TorqueBall. I mentioned this fact to *** in a following email, but just got the run-around, along with a bunch of gas-lighting. I even supplied photos. So I went ahead with returning the additional 2 items. I carefully packed the additional items in their original plain cardboard boxes inside a bubble insulated white plastic envelope, in better packaging than it came in, and shipped it to the return address provided.I sent a notification email to the **** letting him know the return was on its way and provided the **** tracking number. I also kept track of this shipment. When the item arrived, it was refused at the address provided.I let him know this, and he asked me for the tracking info I had already sent him several days earlier. After a few more emails, he stated that the items needed to be returned in their original shipping package. When I ***lied that there was no original shipping packaging, just a plain white bag. I got more run-around and gas-lighting.I decided to conduct a little more online research on TorqueBall only to find this exact practice, including the refusal of returned items, has been happening to several others.Initial Complaint

Purchased a set of 3 torqueballs for $144.97 on 7/8/2024 with a promise of delivery in 2-5 days. Contacted company 7/24 as did not receive item.- ******************* replied that occasionally product is shipped from an overseas location, - This fact was never stated on the TorqueBall (TB) web site. Also looking at tracking it took the overseas company 5 days to first create a shipping label.7/26 - item arrived. It was a "Gyro Ball" and not the "TorqueBall" as shown on the web site. I emailed TB and was told "TorqueBall is the brand name, and we only sell one product: a premium gyro ball .... The gyro ball you received is the latest model of our TorqueBall.". I restate that this is not the product that appears on the website. I request a return and on 7/27 was told "To proceed with the return, please send the TorqueBall in its original, unopened packaging to the following address: Returns ************************************. Upon receipt and inspection, we will process your refund promptly."I return said item according to the above instructions, and 8/11 received the package I returned as it was refused. After inquiring why it was returned, on 8/12, ******************* wrote "Our returns department was unable to identify the origin of the package because it was not shipped in the original packaging. The original packaging has a ** code that allows us to automatically process returns. Could you please confirm if you mailed the TorqueBall back in its original packaging?". I replied that I followed his original instructions that never stated anything about the ** code. I did return it in its original packing AND shipping container, but this was inside a box that the return department never opened. I then wrote that they are in violation of the Texas BUSINESS AND COMMERCE CODE TITLE 2. COMPETITION AND TRADE PRACTICES CHAPTER 17. DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS ******************************************************** I also paid $20.05 to return the item.Initial Complaint

I paid $67.98 for a product called TorqueBall on 28 July, which was sold by a website called ******************************************. The receipt for the purchase came from a business called unusual joy, which also has a website, **************************. The charge appeared on my credit card statement under the name PUREAGENCYL, **************, *************************** product that arrived was not the product that I ordered. Instead, I received a product with a totally different brand (Gyro Ball) that can be purchased on Amazon for $15. Customer support clearly intended to deny the return, insisted that they sent the correct product, refused to provide a shipping return label, and were unwilling to correct the situation. I opened a dispute with ***************** the merchant accepted the dispute, then accused me of fraud and opened a case with ACI Worldwide, a debt collection agency. The merchant now also claims that they are unaffiliated with the website through which I bought the product and is therefore not responsible for the difference between what was advertised at sale and what they sent me in fulfilment of the order. As I have investigated further, I have learned that this company is a total scam with multiple scam web fronts. Other customers report that their returns were refused at the return address, despite compliance with return policy. The company dba TorqueBall, unusual joy, stunbug, and *********** are engaging in fraud, CRA violations, and are party to FDCPA violations through malicious use of debt collection schemes.
