OwnWell review caused an increase in all 3 of my properties and had the audacity to bill me for $15.00!The cost of the tax increases was around $2000.00.Ownwell

We apologize for any disappointment caused by your experience and appreciate your feedback. We are committed to addressing any issues and improving our service so wed love more insight into this situation.
Ownwell only charges our customers if we are successful in savings them money on their property taxes. In looking at your account, I believe the issue is with the way that Gwinnett County issues the tax bill while a property is under appeal, as we were successful in lowering the value of two of your properties and one remained the same after our appeal. I am going to reach out to you privately to discuss this situation.

The bill reduction service is not good. They successfully reduced my internet bill from $83.42 (with tax) to $60.31 on 1/3/2025 billing statement. It included the $5 credit I had form signing up autopay. The next billing statement in Feb 2025 shows my new bill will be $65.34. The autopay credit was removed. I found out these information by calling Spectrum multiple times. ******** also told me that the new bill would be $60.31 which they offered another discount. There is no way I can see from the current bill. I see I would be saving $(83.42-60.31)x12 in 12 months. That is $277.32. They supposed to charge $49.33.($277.32 x25% -$20 coupon ). There will be a late fee of 1.5% monthly. They billed me $64.24 which included an adjustment of $14.94. They notified me that They saved me $336.96 a year and my monthly bill was reduced to $55/******** was not worth the time I spent on reading the bills, communicating with the Ownwell customer service and Spectrum customer service. I have to do all the work to find out how and why from ********. Ownwell just asked me to pay. Will not do business with them again.Ownwell

I used Ownwell on several properties with good results. I sold one property and informed Ownwell. The property was then reduced to the price I sold it. Ownwell sent me a bill, which I disputed. This was their response."According to the terms of your Service Agreement, which you signed on May 3, 2024, the deadline to cancel your 2024 appeal was two months before the filing deadline for your county."So even though the property was sold to another individual I was billed and they denied my appeal. This is a catch that has cost me an extra $1,293.Ownwell

1 starI hired them (1st time working with them) to protest my property tax increase (*************) in April 2024. Did not hear anything for a few months. Then in June I was notified that a hearing would be scheduled & they would take care of everything. I called them in August to ask the ************* only told me we are still pending the hearing. It is now November & the status still shows pending hearing. Something is fishy so I call the county appraisal district directly to ask when my protest hearing is. I was very upset to find out that the hearing was scheduled in June. Ownwell called to reschedule the hearing in July & then they no showed. The appraisal district closed the protest case because of their no show. I called Ownwell immediately to tell them that I know the hearing was in July & that they no-showed, which caused my case to be closed. They took my information & said they would get back to me. I sent them a email same day to follow up on the phone conversation.Well that was 10 days ago & guess what? Per usual, I don't hear a **** thing from them!So now I have to accept a $500 annual property tax increase. And they allowed the appraisal district to set a higher cost basis, so that means the increase is indefinitely.Review fromCathy S

***. Sent bill for $1058 thru mail with my personal info: legal name, address, tax number, county. It was from Ownwell *********. After over hour, finally a person by phone could not determine why I owed money. I am a 100% disabled veteran who thought I didn't pay property taxes. They want $1058 from me. They have all my personal info.Ownwell

Hello Charlie, we strive to provide the best experience possible for every customer who uses our services. It sounds like we did not live up to expectations when handling your appeal this season.
One thing to note is that we do not send invoices through the US postal service, all of our communication with our customers is through email. In our invoices we only provide the name of the property owner and the address of the property, along with a link to your account with your county so that you can verify the information we are sending to you.
It is also important to note that when we do invoice our customers, we take any savings that they are receiving from exemptions into account and only invoice if we are able to earn any additional savings for you. If we fail to take an exemption into account, all you need to do is contact us and we will review and make any adjustments necessary.
I have attempted to find an account with Ownwell using your name and email address, but was unable to do so. Is it possible that we sent you a mailer, advertising our service and your potential savings? If so we apologize that this caused you to think this was a bill. I am going to reach out to you personally through email to attempt to figure out what happened. We appreciate your feedback.

I signed up and saw their "survey." See how complicated is to cancel your account immediately. They make it impossible. GIVE THIS B.S. OPERATION A BIG ZERO! It requires at least a 1 ******* advice? Throw their marketing survey and application in the trash!Ownwell

Hello *******. We apologize for any disappointment caused by your experience and appreciate your feedback. Since we do not send appraisers to your home to evaluate it, the property survey in your portal is designed for you to help provide us with any information regarding your home that you feel would help us in our appeal of your home. We would welcome any feedback as to how we can make the property survey more user friendly.
As for canceling our service, you can pause auto-appeal in our portal, however when the deadline for filing appeals is approaching we ask that you contact our customer service department to cancel service, as we do not want you to miss the opportunity to appeal for the tax year. We wlll reach out to you through email privately to discuss your property and handling any cancellation request. You can also contact our customer service department through email at **************************** or by phone at ************.
