I have received a garnishment from this law firm back in February 2023 in request of payment for a midland account. I have paid this balance in full in March and Midland has stated they still have not received payment for this and it is now May. There is no reason Midland did not receive their funds over a month. This is ridiculous, and my credit report is reflected not paid which is false. This law firm is not professional or doing their job in giving the funds to the appropriate company.

**** with Last 4 of Social being 1643.I had great credit but unfortunately lost my husband in 2017. I got behind on bills but worked to get back on track then later lost my job of 8yrs in 2019 due to ownership change. I had just bought a house and was forced to file bankruptcy. I got another job but then covid hit so I lost that job causing my bankruptcy to be dismissed. Credit cards were charged off and I received notice of a hearing to place judgement. I didnt want to refile bankruptcy, Im trying to arrange and resolve. I made arrangements with ****** to pay $50/month, they cancelled hearing and did not file judgement for the credit card chargeoff. I made payments but got behind due to my bank acct being hacked and waited for a replacement card. As I received bill notices, I set them up to have checks auto mailed from my bank but this one was missed. I received no phone call, no mailed letters.. nothing. They went through my history and found a bank acct I had previously used for a payment and deducted $1500. I am now bouncing house payment, electric etc.. if they had called, I would've immediately resolved it. It was an oversight. My main issue is that payments made from that acct were for a one-time payment. They are not allowed to go back and reuse payment info without my permission. I called to ask them to reverse the lump sum, I will agree to catch up the payments and set-up auto-pay. I have kids and this $1500 has put us in a huge bind. My daughter is pregnant and Im unable to pay my standard living expenses now. I requested copies of anything that *** have been sent allowing deduction from my account but no response. I checked and there is no judgement or garnishment granted. I was never sent notice! I need a refund of the money then we can resolve accordingly and legally.

My identity was stolen by my late wife and I didnt know it until after I was sued by Scott & Associates. For a debt that was originally FingerHut. *** disputed this claim for 2 years gathering different police reports and filing a Identity theft package. And, I have still been forced to pay for something I had nothing to do with and no knowledge of. Scott and Associates and their attorney named ***** railroaded me and never looked at my evidence even though I sent them everything they asked for. I dont understand how a company can get away with such illegal practices. FingerHut wouldnt list the account as fraudulent because FingerHut wasnt specifically listed on the report. I have read multiple complaints where other people were railroaded because of this company. Im having to pay money monthly because Im tired of dealing with them and want to move on with my life. There is proof that my late wife stole other relatives identities and Scott and Associates knew this info and turned around and stated I was lying about everything. I want my life and money back. Finally, I dont have a middle name anywhere on any of my documents and a middle name was added and they have a copy of my drivers license but, still chose to say the debt was mine. The signatures dont even match mine and they know it and refuse to clear this account out of my name.

I was contacted by this firm in March of 2023 on an account from 2021 that had been sold to them. Mind you, the only reason the account was never paid was because I almost died in 2021but anyway. I had never actually received anything from this firm until I was served court papers via processor on a Sunday. I called the next day and the office hours say 8am-6pm but they still do not answer the phone. I finally got through to a representative and she was so sweet. However, it was never considered to lower the amount owed so I agreed to make payments. I paid almost half up front and agreed to have the rest directly drawn out on the following pay date. I had tried calling them 9 TIMES from 8am-8:30am to let them know that the payment would not be able to process on the date we agreed, as I was unaware that the funds would be insufficient until the 24th, due to changes at my place of employment. ANSWER THE ****** Or change your business hours. People are trying to work with you to avoid random court dates, and you have no way of communicating. I also saw a few reviews down that you dont answer the phone and blamed it on staff holiday parties. Not at 8am you dont. Lets just get this resolved so I can rid you from my life for good.

File XXXXXXX case: dcXXXXXXa I have contacted this company several times regarding the default hearing date that I received as I have been on a payment arrangement since August and have requested to speak to someone in the legal department and my request have been denied. I contacted the courts this morning after being informed that a continuance was requested on 10/06/2022 after my initial complaint regarding this letter the agent confirmed that the payment arrangement was to prevent a judgement hearing which is what I was informed at the time of setting up the arrangement both can be confirmed on the companies recorded calls. I reached out to the courts this morning and they have no record of a pending continuance case. at this point if I am required to take off of work on 10/26/2022 I am demanding that my time off work be compensated as well as the file be dismissed because I have done my part however this company has not.

I had a judgment against me in the early part of the year. I've sent my payment to them 3 different times which the funds were there. Each time they said my payment was returned with both of my checking accounts. The funds were there each time. I was never notified about anything saying a garnishment was about to taken out on my checking account. They charged my account twice for the one payment as well and now my account is overdrawn thousands on both savings and checking. I do not believe I am at fault here when they could have been had their payment when I told them to take their payment. This collection was even removed from my credit report back in April of 2022, so this is really annoying. I am preparing for my unborn child and I am at a halt because they decided to take their payment out of my checking account and savings. I have bills and car payments that need to be paid

Not only did this company take money out of my account unauthorized but they also sued me and refused to respond to any offers/communication that I sent to them to resolve before the court date next week. I offered $800 to settle in full but the rep that works for them states they will not drop the case regardless and will still sue. I requested that they file a continuance but they refused. I'd appreciate it if someone would get back to me.

Hello, I had an account with Conns total price of 2189 for a washer and dryer. I purchased in 2019 I lost my job and also informed you all of this when I called in feb I also contacted Conns who informed me my account was sold and they no longer hold my account. I received documents that state I was being sued by you all for the about mentioned about. I made payments on the items I purchased. You all decided to go to court which I never received a court date at all. On Aug the 3 you all went to court and the judge agreed with you all. You all also send me a letter after the court date stating you all were a debt collector not a law office working with Conns. You all offered for me to pay 635 to closed the account by then of Aug but you send a letter stating to pay by the 17th. This is on my credit now even though I have been talking with you and trying to work this out. I am now working again and need this resolved so the item can be removed. If there is anyway we can work this situation out. I would like help but I do not believe that I should have to pay 2000 when I made payments on this account. I would like to send the payment straight to Conns since they are the ones I signed the contract with the funds are supposed to be sent to you. That makes no sense why I'm paying ***** And Associates if Conns is the person I signed the contract. I'm not disputing the account I'm disputing the amount old. Also I wanted it to be known I tried to return these items after I lost my job Conns stated they would not take them back. If someone would please look into this I would really appreciate it. Also why was I sued for damages and not property. I did not do any damages to anything I purchased property

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/13) */ Please see attached response letter. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) When I called in March I was told that it would stop the court case. And my financial situation did not change until earlier this month. Also you all offered 600 to be paid instead of the 2000. Now with me just starting working and catching up on all my bill. I can do this, if you all could give me until the 20th of next month. I will have the whole six. It may come in different payment amounts. If Conns sti has my account then I should be able to pay them the 600 and not the law firm. Since they still own the account correct? I'm just curious I have seen plenty people pay on person and the account is still open and they still owe funds. I there anyone I can speak with at Conns who can verify this? Please let me know my only means of contact is through email at the moment Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/09/22) */ We appreciate another opportunity to answer your concerns. As stated in our previous response to you, when we reviewed the Firm's business records on your file, which included reviewing call recordings, we were unable to verify your claim that you were told that the court case would stop due to your financial situation at the time. Rather, we told you that we would place a temporary hardship hold on it as a courtesy to you due to your financial situation at the time. You were also specifically told that this hold would not stop the lawsuit that had already been filed. We are happy to hear that your financial situation has changed. Our client has agreed to extend the same August settlement offer. A new payment agreement with your requested payment due date of October 20, 2022, was mailed to the same address provided in your inquiry on or around September 21, 2022. We ask that you review the document and then return a signed copy back to us. Once you complete your payment(s) per the agreement terms, we will file a Release of Judgment notifying the court that the Judgment has been satisfied. Conn's remains the creditor and owner of the account and they retained the Firm for legal collections. Per your request, Conn's can be contacted at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. We acknowledge that email is the only way to contact you at the moment. You may email us at ****@*****-pc.com. However, please be aware that Firm and client policies prohibit us from responding via email. This is to protect the security and privacy of both the Firm and our consumers.
