We went into agreement with Brendan K**** of Celina Concrete, LLC on 7/12/21 for a concrete patio extension. We agreed upon a total of $9762.00 which would be paid in 4 installments (hold spot, dig, concrete pour, final inspection). The price changed to $9262.00 after realizing a permit was not needed for project. The first payment of $2440.50 was made on 7/15/21 via check. The second payment of $2440.50 was made on 9/27/21 via check. The third payment of $2190.50 was made on 10/8/21 via check. After the concrete was poured, Brendan spent nearly a week attempting to make the staining consistent between the new concrete and the overlay area. On 10/15/21, Brendan sent a text asking for final payment even though the project was not complete. Weeks passed before he attempted to fix the coloring again. Brendan then added a tinted sealer on 11/1/21. On 11/7/21, Brendan sent an email asking for final payment, stating he was "upside down" on this project. On 11/9/21, Brendan stated he would need to strip the entire patio and start over. He then added another stain which did not adhere correctly due to other layers of product on patio. On 12/2/21, Brendan arrived to try to remove the stain. He stated that he was planning to close his business after our project and another project were complete. On 12/7/21, Brendan stated he was seeking help from a sandblasting company. On 12/13/21, sandblasting company arrived. We reached out to Brendan the same day to see what the next step would be. He responded 12/14/21 stating he ordered a new stain/sealer, but needed to wait for the patio to dry out. This was the last text message he sent. Brendan has not responded to any contact from us since. Brendan has continued to post new projects on his social media. As of 1/9/22, Brendan changed the name of his company from Celina Concrete LLC to Chicago Decorative Flatwork LLC. We are now left with an unfinished patio, damaged sod, and no contact from the owner.
