My move in date was for 05/06/23. I provided my necessary payment of $1259.00. I declined the move in due to the poor conditions of the apartment. I went into the leasing office in which one of the employees told me she could place me in a renovated apartment at a later date. I was told that the original lease would be terminated and they would send me a new lease via email when their manager got back into the office Tuesday, 05/09/23. As I thought about it I didn’t want to move here in its entirety. Same day of move in I sent the leasing and corporate office and told them I am declining the move in and I would be coming into the leasing office 05/08/23 to collect my money orders. I received no response at all. I went into the leasing office on 05/08/23. The leasing agent gave me my money orders back, but she told me they had already been posted the apartments account. She told me that accounting cuts checks every Thursday. I have emailed the leasing and corporate office and called multiple times with no response whatsoever.Initial Complaint

9/1/22: i was told that I was going to be getting new appliances because stove and fridge were outdated and not working on 9/6 9/6 to 9/15: attempted to call for update with no answer. 9/15: Office working Sarah adv that the maintenance team would bring the appliances Friday before 11am 9/16: 11am no one as shown. 3 pm no one has shown. I call and inform Jessica in the front office. She send 2 men and they take the oven. The replacement fridge had mold in the freezer. The bottom would not open properly. The entire fridge was dirty outside and in. They then bring the over. The over was rusty and dirty as well. We opened the door while on the phone with Jessica and find roaches inside. My boyfriend had to help and hurt his hand bringing up the fridge and oven because only one guy was working. I feel that after this experience i deserve new appliances and flooring and a rent adjustment. I cleaned the appliances myself not a cleaning crew. I was out of an oven for so long and our groceries were ruined. Our floors flooded from them struggling to turn off the water and they peeled up my flooring dragging the appliances. The carpet was also affected. My carpet is actually due to be replaced but they told me i would have to pay.Initial Complaint

04.14.20 my boyfriend, Jesse and I applied for Deer Run Apartments in Dallas/Carrollton Texas. I did not realize until later they kept a debit charge and tried to reach them 05/03/20, etc. I filed a complaint last year with HUD but they said the could not do anything. I did not realize I could file a complaint with BBB. We paid $120.00 for application fees and $200.00 Rental Deposit. I thought a deposit is if you rent and that is for the apartment fees for renting an apartment. The apartment that we wanted to rent from my understanding had mold and we were told we could rent another apartment after signing a lease to move in three weeks later, that apartment was dirty and more expensive. We canceled within a few days of wanting to rent there our application. We were told our $200.00 is not refundable because we did not cancel the application, lease within 24 hours. This is not my understanding of what rental deposit is? Not right, beware if there is an issue like mold, you have to rent with them or they keep your money??
