The complaint involves an account opened to receive a $200 bonus for meeting specific criteria. Unfortunately, the account did not meet the activity requirements to received the bonus. Pressured to opened acct with Sejal Patel at Preston at Headquarters branch in Plano TX 12/16/20 w/ no money deposited. On 2/24/21, Comerica closed my personal bank account. Got letter in April 2021that my account was still open and I owed $43.00 in overdraft fees even tho my acct was closed. On 6/7/21, I received notice that I had , $69.00 in overdraft fees, including new fees from May and June 2020 when acct was closed. On 6/17/21, I spoke with Sejal Patel and asked how to clear the fees. said my account for a $69.00 cash pmt. I gave Ms. Patel $69.00 in cash and was given a receipt. She said she'd call on 6/21/21 with update. Has never called me with any update. On 6/26/21, I got letter from a third-party debt collector demanding payment for the $69.00 overdraft charge, even though I have paid at a Comerica branch and requested to pay the charges numerous times. I had to pay this fee to the third-party creditor, even though Comerica charged me $27 after my acct was closed 2/25/21.Business response

I called Susan at the number listed and she never called me back. This Is exactly what Comerica does. They never call me back. Additionally, no information was reported to any Credit Bureaus. I have called Susan ******** ****** on multiple occasions and also left a couple of voicemails, but she has yet to reach back out to me. Over the past few months $60 in fees were reimbursed as a courtesy. The fees that I was given, was excessive and the money spent was available in my account because I knew I couldn't afford to pay the overdraft fees. So I don't understand how I was charged initially. I feel that the bank used unethical practices to charge me the 12 overdraft fees charged to my account.
