Apartment complex approved me and 2 weeks before move in is now UNAPPROVING me because they ASSUME I make tips and are hiding them. They have my income tax form and will not abide by that. I am not without home and will lose my job.

    Business response

    10/22/2024

    To whom it may concern,

We expressed that our approval process is a two part process.  First approval was for criminal and credit, then we complete the TAX CREDIT paperwork.  We have to abide by the affordable policies for qualifying an a Tax Credit Affordable Apartment.  ************* is a 60% max HH income earner with rates set annually by HUD.  All income is presented and therefore calculated through the year to get the applicants total income.  Unfortunately, the income presented and calculated per *************************** and Community Affairs deemed over qualified.  We expressed her denial of the ********** unit and offered a market unit which she did qualify for and did not require the 60% max income, she declined.

She spent $28 on an application fee and we gave her ample time to find alternate housing before she relocated to *******

If you have any other questions please let us know.  I have attached our application criteria for review.

    Sincerely,

    *** *******

I gave the property a 60 day notice on March 2. The notice was sent via email. I called a few weeks later to see if they received the notice, however they rarely answer the phone so I had to physically go into the office on April 11 to ask. At that time, I was told they didn't have my notice. I showed the asst mgr the notice and asked if I could forward it to his email, and I did. On Friday April 29 I moved out of the apt. The apt office is closed on Saturday/Sunday so I turned the keys in on the following Monday May 2nd. The property proceeded to charge me rent for additional days stating that my keys weren't turned in. HOW CAN I TURN KEYS IN WHEN THEY ARE NOT OPEN?! I have called them numerous times to try and rectify the situation. I was told on June 22nd that the $354.00 they are saying I owed would be zeroed out. It has not been. I was also told I would also be getting my $400 deposit back and HAVEN'T! I even called corporate and was told they don't handle those types of things. SO WHY DOES CORPORATE EVEN EXIST?! I am tired of being lied to. There was even an issue with them losing my rent payments or instances when they would apply my payments to other resident's accts! They're conducting shady business. They are extremely unorganized and will tell you what they think you want to hear in order to end the conversation with you. I want a zero balance & my $400 deposit back!
