Allied Stone was contracted through ABD Construction to install quartz countertops in our home for an agreed-upon-price. There was an initial deposit of $7950.During the course of the installation, several problems occurred. -One piece of quartz was cut wrong and not discovered until the Feb. 24 installation. This resulted in a two-week (including three weekends) delay without the use of the kitchen.-During the second installation attempt, cuts to the countertop were made (cutout for sink) was done without properly sealing the kitchen with plastic. As a result, the entire house was covered with fine dust.-The contractor (ABD Construction, *******************) made several attempts to rectify the inconveniences, including a request to deduct the remaining balance from bill. He talked to someone named ***** from Allied Granite. After two conversations with *****, all communication from Allied Stone ceased, despite several attempts from my contractor to agree upon a final payment. As a result, the contractor assumed that the final payment had been zeroed out.-The contractor, after five months then received a bill for $2363.60. Further attempts by trying to call ****** in the billing department resulted in no return phone calls. ***** also refused to return phone calls to the contactor.-Allied Granite has turned over the bill to a collections agency. The collection agency has refused to reply to a letter from the contractor.-Contractor wants a desired outcome that does not tarnish his record.-Homeowner wants a desired outcome that includes a discount to the remaining balance to compensate for the installation problems.

Here was our experience: Evening Manager (The BBB won't allow personal identifiable information), I'm writing to you in complete desperation at this point as my husband, nor I, can get a straight answer from Sales Person. I'm not sure if that is a function of internal operational issues, bad luck or poor communication. Based on your statement earlier this week that you were targeting Friday for install, and Sales Person saying he's waiting for confirmation we were under the impression this was happening. Only to learn today it isn't. More infuriating is the fact, we know the new slab will be here next Tuesday, but still don't have an install date. This has been an absolutely horrific customer experience. This experience has literally invaded every aspect of our lives. As an example, we're supposed to be adopting a new rescue puppy on Saturday and I am not sure they will give the green light based on the fact we committed the first floor would be completed as it seemed odd to them, we DIDN'T HAVE A WORKING KITCHEN. Additionally, I'm washing tupperware in the bathroom sink or outside with a hose, from food I've cooked at my brother's house as I do not have a functional kitchen. I MENTION BOTH OF THESE AS SALES PERSON COMMITTED THAT UPON OUR 50% DEPOSIT, IT WOULD BE 5 WEEKS TO INSTALL. AS OF NEXT WEEK, IT WILL HAVE BEEN 9 WEEKS. 9 WEEKS MANAGER. The larger issues I have is there seems to be no accountability throughout this process nor proactive communication. Had we been prepped that human error happens, product delays, etc. I could have set expectations for what my life would look like. Two weeks ago, my husband asked Sales Person if we could cancel our order. Sales Person said we could but cautioned against as it would take longer than the two weeks it would take Allied Stone to complete our install vs. having our GC install separately. As of tomorrow, it's been THREE WEEKS. For my own sanity, I took time away from work today to document this journey as I feel like it has become, a he said/she said with Sales Person and Allied Stone on the delays. Day 1 to Current March 29: My husband and I came into the showroom and Sales Person helped us narrow down our options April 1: We requested pricing for the 4 options we'd narrowed it down to; he was incredibly responsive during this time April 1: We were provided quotes as requested April 2: I had a few more questions on pricing; Sales Person stated that it would be 5 weeks to install from the time a deposit was made with zero mention of the complexity of cutting/installing porcelain April 12: We decided to move forward with Allied Stone and the QS Statuario Classico Matte; completed the forms April 13: Paid for the 50% deposit (5 weeks would have been May 18th) April 20: First template visit, which lasted 5 HOURS April 21: Had a call with Sales Person to resolve outstanding questions following the first template visit May 3: We were sent our first look at the slabs May 3: A question on the bar top length was resolved over the phone May 7: A SECOND TEMPLATE VISIT, THAT LASTED ANOTHER 5 HOURS May 10: A THIRD TEMPLATE VISIT, Sales Person/template guy came to the house and the cut areas needed to be cut on the hood were marked May 10: We received the updated template and SALES PERSON CONFIRMED THAT WE WERE STILL ON TRACK FOR INSTALL ON THE 15TH May 13: My husband requested an ETA on install, Sales Person stated he was following up, and would get back with us. He did not. May 14 & 15: My husband sent texts following up on the install, ZERO response from Sales Person May 17: Sales Person informed us that there were issues and install would be May 25th, this is the first time we heard of any issues or delays (obviously, the 15th didn't happen and there was no communication from the 14th until the 17th) May 18: My husband followed up via text and had engaged you, Manager, at this point as we were desperate May 20: Sales Person/Manager requested a meeting at the house, which occurred May 21: We received a pic of the broken piece of the slab, and Sales Person stated there'd be an update on Tuesday (5/25); My husband and I discussed cancelling at this point and the reason we didn't as Sales Person assured staying with Allied would be quicker than starting over and going with our GC May 24: Sales Person let us know via email that he wanted to inspect the slabs on the 25th May 25: My husband sent an email requesting an update, there was no response May 26: I requested an update May 27: We were then told that the install was set for the 28th IT'S JUNE 15TH AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T SUCCESFULLY INSTALLED OUR COUNTERS. I'm sure you know your industry better than I ever could, but all other aspects of my re-model have gone as smooth as silk. I understand not all areas will align with the stars, however this has pushed me over the edge. I try to liken it to any other monetary transaction I've experienced through this process, and nothing comes close to equating. Please note, I am coming from a place of complete DESPERATION. PLEASE HELP?
