I went into the store that I heard about on social media called B K Mart. I was so excited to see all of the gold in the store. I asked the owner if it was indeed real gold and he stated yes. I saw a bracelet that I absolutely wanted. I put money down on the bracelet $50 until I was able to purchase and get the bracelet out. The total cost was $560. I put $50 down and finally was able to get the bracelet out of layaway about 5 months later. Two days after I got the bracelet the clasp would not stay on. I called the owner he stated that he could fix the bracelet but that time I didn't go back since the drive was far from me. I went somewhere else and they were able to fix it in 5 min. A month later the clasp wouldn't shut again so I took the bracelet to a **** shop with the intentions to sell so that way I could atleast get some of my funds back. Come to find out the bracelet isn't even real gold. Its gold plaited. I went to two different **** shops where they tested the metal against the magnetic pull and each time the bracelet attracted the magnet meaning its not real gold. I called the store and they immediately said NO REFUND and continued to say that the bracelet is real when its not. Please help me resolve this issue. $565 is alot of money to me.

The customer came and requested a refund or replacement. We let them know that we have a no refund/no exchange policy as stated when she first bought the jewelry. She stated she then went to a **** shop and they tested the bangle using the magnetic test and claimed the bangle was only gold plated. Our jewelry is all real and we did not sell her a gold plated bangle. We test all our jewelry using the acid test. The magnetic test is not always a reliable way of checking the authenticity of the jewelry. More insight on magnet and acid testing below.

For the acid test, we take a sample of the material from the jewelry and then apply acid to it to see if there is any change in color. This will indicate what metal the sample contains. Acid testing is mostly used to determine the karat of solid gold jewelry, but can also indicate whether the piece is plated or not.

We do not use the magnet test as it is not always a reliable way to test. Gold is not magnetic, and in the case the jewelry is attracted to the magnet, the piece of jewelry must contain some other metal. But as stated before, this test is not accurate because of the following reasons. While a reaction of the jewelry to the magnet indicates that this piece is not made up completely of gold, this does NOT mean that it is plated. Rather it could still be a solid gold alloy that contains a magnetic metal. Which is the case of this particular jewelry that the customer is complaining about.

I am rejecting this response because what you state is NOT facts ! No **** shop would buy the bracelet from me because its gold plated. The piece is not solid or hollow gold. The bracelet is still in my jewelry box. What a waste of $500 and something dollars.
