I hired Berrett Pest control in May 2022 When I initially called them I was told the best thing to do because they're so busy is to pay monthly and they would do quarterly automatic visits with a call or a text 24 hours before they came this sounded to me like a good idea .I am busy I work from home they assured me I would be notified 24 hours before and they would come on a Saturday. They came once and exterminated my back porch of flys nothing else the second time they came they did the interior After that I received no text or call saying they were returning I paid monthly. They never called to let me know they were coming they came when they felt like it. I work from home I have been randomly interrupted by men at my door telling me they were here to exterminate my house and I never got a text 24 hours before, nothing was ever set up ,they just showed up randomly no call no notice. I had paid them $211 and I decided that that was enough my debit card expired I decided to no longer have them I let them know I told them not to take anymore money out of my account they went into my account anyway and withdrew 42.22 twice with out my permission.on Oct 18 Today I am working and I was rudely interrupted by a man at my door from berrett saying he was here to exterminate. I had to interrupt my customer for this rude encounter While he sat in my house he sent me a text he was on his way than text I canceled. So unprofessional I did not have an appointment and why were you on your way and why were you knocking on my door taking my work time. I have so far paid 300 dollars for one extermination inside. I want my money back.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/21) */ Mrs ******, we apologize about your experience. The person that set up your account never notated that you would like a Saturday, or a notification ahead of time. I do see that we sent you email notification each time, maybe you aren't getting those emails? We can also do text or voice call notifications as well.

10/2/2022 I hired this company to remove cobwebs and spray around the eaves outside of my house. The tech told me he could not remove cobwebs or spray around the eaves to keep the spiders from coming back. So I could not get the service I paid for when I set the appt. up. He called his office and left within a few minutes. I attempted several times to communicate with the company and have had no return phone calls or emails to resolve this. I feel that I have been scammed and have reported this to my credit card company. I want my money back because they did not provide a service at all..Also, I was home and I have pics of exterior of my home where there is no treatment and you see the cobwebs are still there.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/12) */ Mrs ********, thanks for reaching out to us. We apologize that the technician told you that we don't take care of the webs around the home. We do. I know we did go out and treat the full exterior of the home when we were out there. In good faith, we will go ahead and refund your account what you have paid. If you can call our office, our manager Trey can help you with that.

In March of 2022, we contacted Berrett Pest Control to come inspect our new construction home for mice. Travon Price came to our home and did the initial inspection and recommended an exclusion service to seal up any points of entry for mice. This service included a 1 yr warranty, and weekly follow ups of bait/trap until the property was given the all clear. The cost of this service was $974.25. We were never able to get the all clear. Fast forward to 7/20/22, Travon again came out to inspect, as we were hearing/seeing more activity (not less). He stated that he found an area on the back of the home where he "felt cold air coming from where the siding meets the foundation, but he sealed it up it up and we should be good now." 6 days later, on 7/26/2022 a different technician came out, and when I explained what occurred at the previous visit, he went around back to reinspect. What we found was beyond appalling. There was no spray foam under the siding at all. But instead we found shredded pieces of aluminum cans! Aside from the fact that this material couldn't the home from pests, it also created a hazard for anyone reaching up there to inspect. The technician removed the material and added spray foam to the back corner of the area. Fast forward to 9/22/2022, we are still hearing/seeing activity. Again a tech is sent out to inspect. NOW we are being told that the gap is too large for them to seal, extends to that entire wall, and is an issue we need to take up with the builder. My question is why was this not found or mentioned in March? After several attempts to get answers from the manager Allen, and a request sent through their customer service to speak with Troy, I am left with no other option but to leave a negative review for this company. I feel that we are entitled to at the VERY LEAST a partial refund, as the initial exclusion service was never completed as promised. I will be finding a different pest control company.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/29) */ Mrs *****, Thanks for reaching out to us. Brandon mentioned that he has spoken with you, and recognized areas of concern on our end. We are addressing those. He mentioned that there are areas on the home that the builder is potentially going to seal, and areas that we need to seal. Please let us know if there are any issues moving forward. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/11/16) */ Additional information - we have had to hire a new company to come out and properly do an exclusion service which will include having tear out all of Berrett Pest Control's "fixes", and redo it correctly. Berrett Pest Control will not be offered any more opportunities to come on our property to correct the sub-par work that they performed, even though we are still within our "1 year warranty". The tech noted that the cement that they built up around the garage door, was crumbling. The roof had several areas around vents that were never sealed, the rear of the house has gaps, even after Berrett Pest Control put mesh in there, and the mesh was not anchored to anything, making it easy to fall out. The problem has been allowed to continue for 9 months under Berrett Pest Control's watch. Meaning the amount we paid them for this service was a complete waste of time and money. I would caution anyone against doing business with this company. They are understaffed, do poor work, and do not honor their warrantees. Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2022/11/21) */ Here is the response from our manager Brandon: I spoke to her back in September- "I called and spoke to Mrs, She was very nice and semi understanding. We failed to identify the main entry point on her home from the beginning and when we did we did not seal it properly. 1 side of the back of the house is not built like the other, where the siding meets the foundation 1 side is really tight and the other side has a 3in gap. This is not normal. Hector sealed it on 9/22 but he did it in a way that can be removed if the builder needs to repair the area. Mrs ***** is currently waiting on the builder. Hopefully the builder will repair the area and we can do a final seal. If the builder does not do any repair we will make the seal permanent. Mrs was glad to hear and will keep me informed on the steps in the process." note on account from 9/28 Hector went out there 3 times after I spoke to her and had not caught anything, I had not heard from her since. Had she called me we would have continued to go out for her, I gave her my number and she never reached out to me this last time. Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2022/11/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not see a proposed resolution in their answer. As I stated (and the point that Berrett seems to agree on) they initially missed an entire wall where there was - according to them, a 3 INCH GAP. After 6 months of ongoing activity, they FINALLY figured out what they missed. My point is, it shouldn't have taken that long. Had they found that area sooner, we could have address this with the builder sooner. As far as their temporary fix, it did seem very temporary, as when Hector came back out to reinspect (after dark mind you) he found that one of the areas where mesh was put in, had completely fall out into the wall, leaving it wide open again. He tried to convince me that the activity that I was hearing, was geckos (not mice) even though we had been catching mice fairly regularly. As far as my most recent contact with Berrett, when I heard (and confirmed) a trap going off in the attic on Friday Nov 4, we had no option for removal, except to contact the main phone #. A tech did come to remove the rodent/trap, and left without a word. I waited 1.5 weeks for someone to contact us for follow up, since something was caught, no one did. When I called (on 11/15), I was told that because we did not have "regular service" that no one would contact us for follow up, and it was "not covered under our warranty". It was when that representative read the notes to find that Brandon was involved, she said she would reach out to him and he would contact me. To date, no one from Berrett has reached out to me regarding our service, our warranty, anything caught on 11/5....nothing. Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2022/12/06) */ Brandon indicated that he spoke with you again, and was able to get everything resolved with you.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/19) */ *******, thanks for bringing this to our attention. It sounds like you might not have understood the service or how the billing works. It is a quarterly service, meaning that the treatment schedule is every 3 months. The billing schedule is monthly, meaning that you aren't paying per service, you are paying a monthly amount which renews the warranty each month in case you need us in between treatments. We automatically come out every 3 months, and then if you need us in between those regular treatments, just let us know. Per the agreement, we did a 4 month agreement, which is the initial treatment, and then 3 more payments after that. Most companies do a twelve month agreement. Our commitment is only 4 months. I hope that helps. Call us if you have any other questions. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) My wife and I had our home treated in December 2021 for termites based what we thought were termites and on Berrett's professional technician's inspection on December 11, 2021. I paid the technician, as well as purchasing a 1-year warranty. To quote the 1-year warranty, "Retreatment warranty of Termites if the Termites should reappear, Berrett will provide treatment to eliminate Termite infestation, and will continue to provide retreatments until said infestation has been completely destroyed." See attached PDF. On December 13, 2021, Berrett's technician arrived and treated my home. On May 22, 2022, I noticed termites coming out of my outdoor kitchen and notified Berrett. On May 25, 2022, Berrett technician came out and stated I didn't have termites because he couldn't see them and said the damage and markings was not termites (even though it was the same soil markings/damage as they originally sold us in December). Moreover, I showed the technician the photos (shown below) my wife took on May 22, 2022, of the termites, he said they were nothing to be worried about and looked like flying ants. After him trying to sell me another total treatment and much discussion. The technician stated the best he could do is treat the area in the picture but anything else would be extra, of course he would have to ask his boss and the office to approval. Neither he nor anyone from Berrett contacted me. Here is the first technician seeing there was a problem but sticking with his story about there not being any termites. On June 1, my wife noticed one of the structural columns on the patio split open between the Hardie plank with termites coming out of the column (see photos below), so I notified Berrett again. This is the same column the technician was telling me there is no signs of them a few days later. On June 6, ******* second technician came out and stated they treated for the wrong termites. Now found out they didn't use right application amount

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/21) */ Dustin, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I am sending our manager Brandon out to see what is going on there. From what I am seeing on our end, we did a treatment for subterranean termites, and then our inspector came back out recently, but couldn't find any active termites. That doesn't mean there weren't termites at the time, just that we didn't find any. Alvina them came out and found the formosan termites. Brandon is going to see what we need to do to correct the situation. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Brandon did contact me yesterday, he didn't have a solution and offered to return our money. After speaking with the Texas Department of Agriculture, they have found that Berrett did not use the correct dosing required for termite treatment if they did do the treatment in the first place. Because of this we want all damage to the house remediated. ******* inspectors have been recorded each and every time they were on property, so we have their actual actions requesting more money each and every time, not upholding their warranty, and not doing anything to protect my home and family from the infestation. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/06/23) */ I appreciate the additional information. Offering to return your money is a solution, it sounds like it wasn't the one you are looking for. We don't offer a damage protection warranty, just a retreatment warranty. We are happy to come and treat for the formosan termites even though they weren't covered originally. Your complaint online shows pictures of both termite evidence as well as reproductive ants. So there is more going on than what originally was thought. When we came out originally, there was only mud as well as worker termites from what I can determine. The formosan workers look similar to the subterranean workers. When we came out this last time, there were swarmers there, so it was easier to see that the termites were formosan termites. If we make a mistake, we are happy to fix it within reason. We will follow the agreement according to what was set forth. We can either come and retreat the home specifically for the formosan termites at our cost, or we can refund the money. We don't offer damage protection because damage also occurs before we treat, and it would be difficult to prove that the damage occurred after we treated, which is why we just stay completely away from damage protection, there is too much liability and risk. Let us know which way you would like to go with this. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/06/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I would like the technician reports sent to me please for each time they have been to my home. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/06/28) */ I will have Brandon reach out to you again. He can provide whatever is needed. Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/06/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) You have had multiple people out there for which the first one said he would check with the office on a resolution and his manager would call... No call... But did offer to treat what he said was nothing if I wanted to pay... Second just said it was a different type of termite than treated and we would have to pay for any treatment, because the warranty didn't cover it. If your technicians all have a different opinion, it doesn't seem like it would matter if you sent your entire office to my home, all I would receive is total contradiction and a request to treat my house in everyway the technician can come up with. For the third time I want the reports from every technician that has been at my house. Please provide the reports. Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2022/06/30) */ Actually, our employees didn't have different opinions. Each of them identified correctly what they saw. The first time it was termites, and they were identified as such, which is why we did a termite treatment. The second time, it was ants, and we offered service for that. The third time it was termites, but they were formosan termites, which require a different treatment. If you talk to any other company, they will confirm that the treatment method is different for subterranean termites as compared to formosan termites. If we were trying to get more money only like you are suggesting, then we would have attempted to sell you a formosan treatment plan which costs more. We didn't do that until we confirmed that formosan termites were there.

I have Berrett's pest control services since long long time - probably from year 2010. In summer of 2020, I complained to them about having some bees in my upstairs bedroom. They said that they have a separate service for $250 and that should solve the problem. in Next 1.5 years, they came multiple times and couldn't fix the problem. They even dug the holes in the wall. They would come every time and claim to fix the problem only for bees to show up again in few weeks. Finally last Berrett technician who came advised me that I need to hire a proper bee removal service and this is not their core business. I ended up hiring another people who showed me a hive of 100k plus bees in our wall and also multiple hives. I have attached pics to show what other company found. They also told me that this has accumulated over last 2 years to have multiple hives. I want my refund of $250 that I paid to Berrett, I want money to fix the holes in the walls Berrett created, charges of $1300 that I had to pay to other company because of Berrett's negligence over last 2 years where a small bee problem became a giant bee hive problem to a point of not being able to live inside the house.

On January 12, 2022, I hired the services of Berret Pest Control to conduct a Rodent Exclusion Service. As per the contract, "Sanitize attic space" was part of the action plan, however, they didn't complete this service, they only came for 10 minutes to apply a sort of spray and leave all the rodent droppings behind on Feb 25. Here the Action Plan as stated by the contract: "Set traps and detour in garage and attic. Install garage door jam wraps. Install plumbing vent covers. Seal roof returns with flashing, silicone, and paint to match. Install small screen on dryer roof vent on roof. Sanitize attic space. Initial-set traps in attic and garage Follow up- check and rest traps in attic Follow up- check and rest traps in attic. Address all points of entry per graph. Follow up- check and reset traps. Sanitize attic space."

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/10) */ Mr *****, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We were very careful to not put on the agreement that we were going to clean the droppings because the droppings in the attic get mixed in with the attic insulation, which makes removal virtually impossible. The only way to truly get all the droppings is to remove the insulation, and put in new insulation. That service is between $6,000 for a small attic, and upwards of $12,000 or more as the attic gets larger because there is a cost to remove the insulation, and replace the insulation there with new insulation. The sanitize service is just what it says. We sanitize the area, we do not remove anything. It has a disinfectant and a sanitizer within. If there is something else you feel we didn't do, we are happy to come back. We just won't do a service that we didn't agree to. Let us know if we can help. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The droppings I'm referring to are not in the insulation, these droppings can be spotted on the attic floor (Please see the attached pictures). I'm not asking for an insulation replacement. If you going to perform sanitation the least you can do before using the spray is remove droppings that are in plain sight. When the inspector Chris S******* came to do the estimate, I was very clear in expressing my concern about the droppings and she mentioned that sanitation was part of the action plan. At this point, I'm very disappointed at Berrett Pest Control, my overall impression of all the last couple of staff members that came is that they had a disregarded way to do things, on two occasions they expressed that they needed to finish soon since they have more appointments ahead to cover and to mention the bad impression when they were asking to borrow tools from me since the silicone gun he had was unusable. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/03/14) */ I will have Chris reach out to you so that you can discuss with her what was agreed upon.

Last year in the early part of February I contacted Berrett Pest Control, to exterminate my home for termites. The sales person was admit about this process being an ongoing problem and I should get a warranty to protect myself in case of reinfestation. So I signed a contract that said I paid for the service with built in warranty for one year, and then it added that I could renew the warranty for $180 the next year. Well when the technician came, last year, he did less than I expected to apply a termite application. He just made like a 3 inch trench and sprain a thin layer of pesticide around the house. Then he mentioned that if I didn't disturb his work, that this application would be good for years. So I decided, that when this year came I would not renew my warranty. Berrett Pest Control, did not even ask me about renewing the warranty, this just pre-billed me for another year, and I told them within 30 days that I did not want to renew my warranty with them. And their response was you signed for it in your contact. I told them I am canceling my business relationship with them, by e-mail., and by phone. They told me that they would turn me over to a collections agency. I maintain, you can not charge a person for services not perfumed. I paid you in full for services you performed, you can not legally just add renewal fees for a warranty, if I decide to tell you I don't want to continue my business with you. They are trying to bill me for a whole new year. I maintain I am not interested.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/05) */ Mr ********, I apologize about the misunderstanding. The termite warranty is added to the account so that you have the option of renewing the warranty. The product does last more than one year, but termites can escape the treatment. The warranty is in place for your protection, but it is optional. The person that spoke to you was wrong. We only charge the customer if they want to renew the warranty. I see that nothing has been charged, nor is there a balance on your account. I will discuss with the person that handled your account so that I can correct the wrong information given. I appreciate you letting us know that it was said in that manner so that we can correct it on our end. We appreciate your business, let us know if we can help in the future. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/03/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am satisfied with the response. I feel that we can part ways amicably, with terms of the contract satisfied and a zero balance.

Orginal date was March 2021 - the complaint to ******* that it failed to keep mice out and just inspected throughly to see that the job was insufficiently done in the first place was today 9/27/2021. I paid $108 for them to professionally block a hole into my house where my AC wires and hoses go in. It was only a 30 day warranty however I did not see until I was out there and a mouse ran over my foot that the bottom of the hole had not been adequately sealed. The mice did make the hole bigger eating through the foam that did not have the wire mesh in it, so if that was the issue than my bad for not monitoring first 30days; However, after looking at it closely and taking pictures it is evident that it was not properly done. My bad for not getting on my hands and knees to inspect the job initially but would I could trust a reputable company to do the job right and stand by their work.
