I do not recommend banking at EECU. My husband and I's account and our CC were compromised more than enough times that we left EECU for good. One time it was compromised to the tune of ******* and we were told it would take 7-10 days for the money to be put back in our account and I informed the employee that is UNACCEPTABLE and I expect it back in my account within 24 hours because what if that was my house payment and would they cover the late fees and I got a no ma'am from them. We gave EECU lots of chances to redeem themselves in our eyes as far as their security measures and they fell SHORT so we decided to leave and change banks. I do not recommend banking with EECU and considering their rating on here it seems like a lot of people feel the same way.

************ We are not sure that we will be able to change your opinion about EECU, but if you would like to visit with us, we are always available to our members and would like nothing more than to address your concerns and discuss the highly regulated and mandatory processes we must follow as a financial institution.  Please call us any time at **************.

You have made a few statements in your BBB review that we feel we must address.  You state that your account and your ********************** card have been compromised. First, and foremost, all accounts at EECU are safe and secure, protected by many layers of data security defenses and protocols.  Second, in the event your credit card was compromised, it more than likely was compromised at one of the merchants you and/or your husband frequent.  As you may have read in federal, state, and local news articles, skimmers have been found in convenience stores, fast food restaurants, and gas pumps, etc. These locations do not follow the rigorous data security standards required of financial institutions like EECU.  If they did, perhaps fraudulent transactions could be eliminated entirely.

With regard to the fraudulent card transactions, you mention that money may not be credited to your account for 7 to 10 days.  That is accurate and is the time limit prescribed for financial institutions under federal law and regulation -- 12 CFR Part 1005 (Regulation E).  Financial institutions are allowed a certain amount of time to investigate a claim of fraud and credit an account.  Some investigations take longer than others.  With that said, most credits are made to a members account within ***** hours.  We understand that our members have financial obligations which they must meet.

In 2023, we welcomed ****** new members which brought our year-end membership total to over *******. Our 18 Financial Centers performed over 1.2 million transactions and our ************** answered over ******* phone calls, chats, and text messages.  Our commitment to delivering a Better Way of Banking is recognized as our member satisfaction rankings for EECUs Financial Centers, **************, and Digital branch, all score a 9 or higher, out of 10, in member satisfaction. In 2023, we were named ****************** and Credit Union by ******** and Best Northwest Tarrant County Credit Union by ****************

In addition to our financial accomplishments, in 2023, our employees volunteered over ***** hours to non-profit organizations and supported financial wellness courses to over ***** students at over 50 high schools in Tarrant County and community college campuses.  In addition, we educated over ***** adults through our self-guided digital financial wellness program.

Finally, EECU awarded $40,000 in scholarships to outstanding students to help cover tuition and fees at the colleges of their choice.

Please keep in mind that we are always here to help with your financial needs and to provide you with a Better Way of Banking.

Paid for auto insurance for my vehicles repair. But not able to provide auto insurance paperwork. When trying to direct deposit for payment. They do not tell you or allow you to pay for payment, causing bad credit pull.

I am trying to close my deceased father's accounts and have been getting the run around. I asked them to waive the two late fees that were placed on his account within a week's time. One was placed on the day before my dad died and the other about a week later. My dad had perfect credit...never late and never late with this credit card. They have no sympathy for my situation. I told them I was willing to pay off the balance once the fees were waived. I tried calling again tonight to make the payment over the phone since the existing bank account used to pay the card has been closed. They told me it will cost $5 to make the payment by phone. This CU is criminal at best. I've never experienced anything like this! I can't recommend this CU to anyone. Bank anywhere else!

EECU is a horrible company to have a loan with. My truck was stolen, & all they have done is harassed me over it. They reversed my payments, and then reported to the credit bureaus that I was not making my payments. 8 YEARS of not ONE missed payment down the drain because of their incompetence. Please tell me how this is possible AFTER a ****** payment was made. Ridiculous customer service skills. Just go with another company and save yourself the trouble!

Ive had an account open since i was in high school, had minimal funds in there but active nonetheless. When I applied for my first car loan they offered 10%...went to another credit union and received 2.5%. Then recently found out I had an unpaid balance with them from a card that was fraudulently charged and their attempts to reach me were sending a letter to an address that was 3+ years old. They still had my number and my email on record but no records of them reaching out. Horrible communication, issue terrible loans, and have been prone to hacks as of recent. Do yourself a favor and make EECU a last choice.

I don't believe they are a good "credit union" I've been banking with them for about 5 years and I've been able to get personal loans, unsecured credit cards, and auto loans from other places but NEVER from my own bank I've applied and tried but I'm always declined even though I bank directly through them it just doesn't make sense.

I have been with EECU for a while including having a credit card from them. I went over by $6 on my credit card balance and they placed a negative entry on my credit report. The account went over on Friday and it was posted to my credit report on Monday which is the same day I made a $1500 payment from my EECU checking account which also happened to be a US holiday. Even though the payment was made from my EECU checking to my EECU credit card, the payment did not reflect on my account for 2 business days. My account was not past due and next payment due was required in March. They literally did not give any time for me to remediate the overage before posting to my credit which I would not have been able to do over the weekend. I was not even alerted to the overage until I was notified by the entry on my credit report.

********************** Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. While we always attempt to resolve our members concerns, unfortunately in this situation we are unable to help you. In this case, the over-the-credit-limit reporting is provided to the credit bureaus on a periodic basis after a payment due date, and we have no control over that time period. Depending upon the circumstances, at a times, we are able to work with the credit bureaus to fix an error in the reporting. In this case, however, the reporting appears accurate. Also, we have no control over the calculation of an individuals credit score. We wish there were something we could do to help, but at this point it is fully out of our hands.

Absolutely the worst loan company I have ever tried to deal with. Just trying to make a payment on my car results in ***** minutes of absolute aggravation. I literally have to call each month to make a payment because their web site is either poorly designed, or designed this way on purpose. And, they ask me for social security number over and over again just to try and access the site. I sat for 5 minutes today watching a spinning wheel go no where on their site and have to call them again this coming week to make a payment.
