I agree. Do not do business with Weimer Properties. They prey upon students and parents. They have a practice of keeping your deposit. Most landlords keep the deposit for damages above wear and tear. They simply refuse to return the deposit for items that should be on the landlord like dusting, cleaning, painting, new light bulbs. They treated tenants that always paid the rent item on time and rented for two years like this. Items wear out and get used over a two year time period. Renters to do not own the home. They expect all preparation and cost for incoming tenants to be borne by the existing renters. For example, renters are expected to clean upon moving out which is fine and have an inspection. However, ******* and ***************************** do not plan on doing any cleaning after that and if there is dust on the blinds they will charge you a full cleaning bill for the entire house in order for them to prepare the apartment for incoming renters. As another example, they said the garbage disposal was not working and there was a leaf and a lemon wedge in it so they took $125 out of the deposit for this which is basically the price of a new disposal. In addition, neither of the two items would hurt a properly working disposal. Remember these are renters not owners and should not need to pay for appliances that break. Weimer want to take the deposit from tenants to repair and restore their rental properties for new tenants after normal wear.I highly recommend that existing tenants withhold their last lease payments to protect themselves from ******* and **** stealing their deposit and refusing to return it or even a majority of it.

Hi *****!Providing homes is great condition is so important to us. To do that, its important that repairs are completed, the home is clean, and walls are repainted when damaged. While we provide support on the rental process from Move-in to Move-out sometimes there are disagreements, which is so unfortunate. In our 25+ years of renting homes, we have tried to reply to questions and issues with respect and kindness. We wish your daughter and her group all the best with their future endeavors.

The issue is not whether you are nice or not. We have a fundamental disagreement on whether its appropriate to keep a substantial amount of the deposit money for items that should be covered by the owner of the house. There is a reason we rented vs buying. Renters dont want to spend money on painting, garbage disposals and new light bulbs for incoming renters. This is fundamentally wrong. These cost should be on the owner not the renter. Only items that are damaged badly above wear and tear over a two year period should be on renter. Not spotless cleaning, small scratches on a concrete floor etc. Keeping a substantial portion of the deposit for items is not kind, its bad business and others need to be alerted to this bad behavior.

Do not do business with this company *** students and parents. They take every little advantage to not only keep your deposit, $4,000, but then say you owe more money for simple things like normal wear & tear. They have a reputation of doing this, we were warned, we should have listened.

Hi ******!We believe in providing homes in great condition to our Residents, which means completing repairs when residents move out. *** students and families have been renting with us and referring us to friends for over 25 years, because we are responsive and our homes feel fresh and well-maintained.In over 25 years of renting homes to thousands of *** students, repair charges have never exceeded a Security Deposit, until this year. Our homes are provided clean, with no holes, working appliances, intact locks, and working blinds and expect the home to be returned in a similar condition. It was disappointing for us receive our home in a condition that warranted repairs at the level required for this home. However, we believe that the next residents friends that you referred to us received a home that was meets our level of care and readiness.
