Allied Electronics posted an unauthorized charge to my credit card.Attached is a copy of my e-mail correspondence with them, as well as a copy of the invoice which they sent **. This is entirely unrelated to us. They accidentally charged us for an order which was ordered by and shipped to one of their other customers, somewhere in ******.As you can read in the correspondence, this vendor has acknowledged the error on their part, but has been unable or unwilling to resolve this thus far, probably due to internal bureaucratic obstacles or policies.

    Business response

    06/28/2023

The customer stated that he needed the return because the part did not work for his application and requested that we cover the shipping charges for the return. RS did end up providing a call tag to pay for the shipping charges of the return and the customer has been credited back their full invoice amount. The issue has been resolved.

    Customer response

    Complaint: 20041797

I am rejecting this response because:

1 - RS is now trying to shift the blame for this issue to us. Please note that their response states: "The customer stated that he needed the return because the part did not work for his application and requested that we cover the shipping charges for the return."  This is an ABSOLUTELY FALSE statement. This dispute pertained to RS having posted a charge to our credit card for an order for another one of their customers. We did not order anything, nor receive anything. In other words, we had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this order/charge which was posted to our credit card. So what RS needs to do, at minimum, is take responsibility for this error and not try to blame it on us.

2 - Their response also says: "....and the customer has been credited back their full invoice amount." This is also FALSE. The original unwarranted charge amounted to $394.21, while the credit which we later received amounted to $391.24, so a shortfall of $2.97.

I'm wiling to let this go from here, since the remaining amount is only a few dollars, but at the same time I'm NOT accepting RS's response, which tries to lay the blame with us instead of themselves.

    Regards,

Date of transaction: 25-Mar-2023 Purchased an Ethernet switch through the ******** website for $1930.41 with tax. Realised I had been given incorrect information from a Moxa distributor. The switch could not support *** and this function was needed. Called RS-Allied as soon as I learned this. I was told an RMA to return the switch would be no problem. I could not cancel the order because it had already been shipped ( I thought this was from a ******** distributor). I did not know it was shipping from the ** directly. I did not receive a USMCA document (or commercial invoice) that allows me to return this item without paying taxes or duties. The company does not have any knowledge or understanding of our ******/US agreement and does not know what I'm talking about. I am unwilling to pay 2.7% duty to return this product. I am already expected to pay for shipping all the way to *****. This was not told to me either when I spoke to the customer service representative. I expected to ship it within ******.

We ordered a Sola HD transformer from Allied Electronics. The transaction occurred on 4/27/2022 in the amount of $4,758.40. The charge included extra cost for expedited delivery. It didn't ship so we had to purchase the item elsewhere. The equipment it operates on is a production line and downtime is very expensive. We received it on 5/2/2022. After a few days we were issued return authorization. It was shipped back on 5/06/2022. On 5/12/2022 we received notice that Allied had signed for it on 5/11/2022 and that it would take a day for them to provide the returns department with confirmation of receipt. In the email it said that once they receive them against the *** the credit would be applied. I've made a couple attempts to reach them for an update and received nothing. As of today at 12:30 PM 6/3/2022 my account has not been refunded.
