Be very careful with this company. My neuro scheduled me for an MRI. When Preferred Imaging called to set up the appointment, I asked them, with my insurance plan, how much my part would be because money is tight right now. They called me back and said my part is $170. The insurance pays the rest. I said, does that cover everything...doctor reading it, walking in the front door, all the fine print and I was told yes. The day before the appointment, I called to confirm the amount I would be paying. I was told $170. I said, I just want to double check because I've been broadsided before and even the $170 financially hurts. I was told, we contacted the insurance company to find out what your deductible is, they give us a code and that code shows us how much you own and you will owe $170. I had the **** paid my $170 and wouldn't you know it....the following week I get a bill for an additional $1029.18. I then called Preferred Imaging and talked to the girl who had initially quoted me the price. She said "that must be a mistake, you don't own that. We don't make mistakes like that". So then, I called the insurance company to see what was going on. I was told that every time someone calls Aetna, the phone starts recording the calls and they (***** employees) can add additional notes to the recordings. There was no log of anyone from this company or any company ever calling for information on me or my deductible. They would have a record of it. She said they do this all the time!!! Calls like mine were not her first for this company. They never called. They lied through their teeth and now I'm stuck with a $1199.18 bill that I cannot afford. Be very careful of them. This has put me in a horrible financial position.
