Horrible horrible company to get as your electric provider!!!! They overcharge on everything. My tdu fees were more than 100 dollars during the summer and my bill would be coming out to 700.00 per month!!! This is robbery! Please don’t get this company, they are overcharging on the usage of electricity!!Review from Doletta P

Gexa is a rip off. This is our second home. In the winter we are not there no heat is running. Why they send us a $356 bill. We have never had a bill like this because we are not there. We barely use 500kw. Our bill is usually $40 - $45 per month until the spring. Spring and Summer it goes to maybe $120. I have called them 3 times and they all say the same thing. We don't credit back any money. I asked to view the history of our bills to see we don't use much. They all say they understand my issue, but the Oncor smart meter is 99% accurate. Well, it is not accurate because we are not there to run anything. They had the nerve to say even though we are not there the heat would run simply because the temp dropped. Last year we had some ice and snow, and that bill was way lower than this year. Why? It's the same thing as last year, we were not there. They even said that if the bill was not paid on the date there would be a late fee incurred. What kind of mess is that? They just kept talking about loading a smart meter app to watch my usage. If we are not at the second home, why would we watch the usage. The dumbest thing I ever heard. So, this was not resolved by them. I hate Gexa and cannot believe they have no way of helping customers with their issue. Contacting customer service is a waste of time cause they all have the same lie they tell. Do not tell me to contact them with your response. I got to the President's office they say and talked to someone who did not help except for offering to make payment arrangements with me. I will be spreading the word for people to never use Gexa. There is no compromise with then at all. I see other complaints with the same issue and cannot believe managers and the President has not taken a look at the issue. You will continue to lose customers. Every business that I know of try to work things out with their customers but not Gexa. Change the dang policy and you might keep customers.Gexa Energy, L.P. Response

I should’ve came here first. I wished I would’ve never got involved. I selected a rate of 12.3 pkw but my rate was changed to 19.34. This a total scam. My house is about 900sft very small yet my bill is 699.86 and this includes a $125 credit. So before the credit my bill would’ve been $824.86 now come on this doesn’t make any sense at all!! I have never in my life received an electric bill this high. I’m a single mother and we are hardly ever home. This is ridiculous and they should be put out of business. Well I know they will no longer be getting my business. Rip off, total scam, highway robbery, liars, cheaters, etc. Please close them down!! I trusted this company is good company when I started contract with GEXA. These days, I pay the most highest bill in my life and pay much more than my other family and friends. My family or friends houses are much bigger square feet and more people living in there and they use more KW than me but they pay much less than me. I recently accepted Gexa Energy as our new Electric company as of Oct 20, 2023. Today's date is February 05, 2024 and we are at 800.00. How does this happen?! During this time in the winter with ******* ****** we were paying 66.00 at the most. With this company we are paying nearly 300.00 for one month of service in the winter time. There is definitely something wrong here. This is not right at all. I have already made a call once before about charges and was advised to try a new plan. The thing is if you change your plan your contract starts all over again. This company needs to be scrutinized for doing this during these tough times. From Oct 20, 2023 to Nov 06, 2023 my bill was 137.52. This is not even a month of charges. Nov 21, 2023 to Dec 07, 2023 the bill was 163.36, Dec 19 2023 to Jan 04, 2024 the bill was for 289.29. From Jan 20, 2024 to Feb 06, 2024 that is tomorrow's date the bill is for 210.01. Tell me this isn't wrong!!Gexa Energy, L.P. Response

Whatever you do never use Gexa. I have 1237 square foot home for 1 month they billed 861.00. They billed for 9 extra days citing it was permissible per there contract. You will be miserable. My final bill was for q week 461.00 with a cancelation fee. Never again Gexa will go out of business. There are many many complaints filed with BBB.Gexa Energy, L.P. Response

Gexa Energy has been the worst electricity company. They do not honor the rate per your contract. They will add so many different fees as the Texas delivery charges. Customer service really does suck. ***** should know they are taking advantage of the customers by altering the total amount of kilowatts. I thought I was getting a deal, but they started scamming me from the very first bill, which I had to call in and get fixed! My bills, it seems, are skyrocketing and the rate has been fluctuating although I locked in a 2 years contract so I could get the deal for 2 years. It's a scam! They give you the $125 rebate for 1000 kw, but charge you an arm and a leg if you use less or more, and their delivery charges are ridiculous! Avoid this company at all costs!Gexa Energy, L.P.
