1 starFirst of all their customer service had a down spiral right after we signed over the house. They where eager to help you during the building process but not after they signed the house over to the home owner.During the building process, I found many discrepancies and addressed them to the builder, they at first down played my concerns, then latter found that I was correct. All the interior corners have cracks and require constant maintenance. The cabinets and drawers have had many issues, sagging doors and drawers that close unevenly. There is no solution from the warranty company on the drawers that don't close evenly. The AC system is definitely under sized, the ac will run for a very long time, like 8 hours straight. We can not maintain a 72 degree house, the best the ac can do is 75 in the summer, and if we cook and use the stove, the temperature will climb to 78. They have no solution and claim that the ** is working like it suppose too.The ********** refuses to do anything and does not care about my concerns.Review fromJeanette M

1 starDo NOT use Tilson to build your home. You will regret it as long as you are living in it. They are over priced for the quality they put into it. There is no such thing as craftsmanship and they have no concern for what their subcontractors do in your home. If they ruin something in your home, they are not to be held responsible. After it is all said and done, they have about their warranty but let me tell you something....the warranty will leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. If they had a quality product, you would not know their warranty was so bad but since we have had to deal with them more times then we should on a brand new home we know just what kind of warranty service they offer. The ** they put it is already out, it's in the 90s and they can't provide anything to keep us cool until the parts come in. We are too sleep with our windows up. How about that for service? Our door doesn't seal right so they come and drill a bigger hole and it's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. They can't even fix it correctly. Our ceiling fan wobbles if we change the speed so we can only keep it at 1 speed. It truly is ridiculous. Please find another company to spend your hard earned money on. They don't deserve what you worked hard for.Review fromDesi P

1 starOur entire building experience was a nightmare and 8 years down the road our home has termites!!! We have paid yearly for pest control services and Tilson places the blame on the pest service and via versa. I do not recommend Tilson!!Review fromBrian P

1 starWe definitely did NOT have a good experience with Tilson. We started off good. The office and design team were easy to work with. However, thats about as good as it got. The stakeout meeting was a joke. The meeting at the house site was maybe 10 min. Our guy didn't stake out the house lines but rather just showed us a paper in his hand and said the house will look like this on the property. In addition, after we signed paperwork, quoting us the house estimate and three months into the process, they came back to us stating we now need to come up with an additional 100K of "unanticipated expenses out of pocket to start the build. We did not have that kind of cash on hand, so we had to pull out. This was something that would have been nice to find this out months prior. Since it took them so long to figure out those costs and tell us, we had to pay 2% to void the contract which ended up costing us around $9k. We were so excited about everything. We took a lot of time in designing and choosing every detail. What a waste of time and money it ended up being. I would not recommend going with Tilson.Review fromTeresa Y

1 starWalls, doors, windows, ceilings, and floor are cracking and the damage that was there then is worse. Cracks are longer and wider. More Interior doors will not shut. The windows are sticking now. More corner molding is separating from the wall. The paint crumbles on floor. Foundation is cracking and crumbling more under the vinyl flooring causing it to warp and gape open in more areas. The tile cracks are wider and longer. Tub is separating from the wall. The shower shelf broke off due to shifting( poor design). Walls are cracking and chipping in more locations along the sheetrock joints. These pieces of the bedding and paint crumble off and ceiling to the floor leaving chunks of the wall falling out. This seasonal movement is too much. It is embarrassing for us.We think there are no pier. If they are, they have failed or they aren’t deep enough. Who dug the piers? How were they dug? How deep? We paid extra for them so our house would not do this or that’s what we were told. TELL ME WHY MY HOUSE IS FALLING APART! You have not answered the question. What are you going to do to fix it? As far as watering the foundation, your inspector told us to stop watering on the side that we were not watering and water more on the side that we were watering. He made no sense. It does not help! We cannot continue to pay $100 water bills. We have been going around in circles with you for 9 years. Please! Fix our house! I have never lived in a house nor known anyone that has had this problem. Something is not right with the construction of this house. This is not a quality house as sold to us. You are stringing us along until the ten year mark when we have no recourse. I’m so disgusted with Tilson and the crappy house you sold us. So very disappointing. If we were told that we needed to water the foundation to keep the interior walls, floor, doors, ceiling from cracking we would never have bought this house. The fill dirt is not right. We should have to water it after 9 years.Review fromRobert L

1 starWe have been dealing with a foundation problem with Tilson for about 3 years. It started with cracks in the laundry room floor through to the garage. We also noted the wood trim along the right side of the garage pulling away. Tilson sent a guy out that measured the foundation and said it was within tolerance. He provided literature and sent us an email regarding corrections to fix the problem. Fast forward and we now have trim pulling away from the roof top. Tilson insists we have not followed recommendations. We have a pier and beam house on the property that has no foundation problems. The problem side of the Tilson home is graded even though Tilson says it isn’t. The left side can’t be graded because electric runs there along with phone lines. We hired a structural engineer who noted the crack in the floor is a structural issue that needs repair, but Tilson has not responded. Despite having a sprinkler system Tilson said we needed soaker hoses. We finally relented and installed those. We have added additional dirt on the left side of the house and installed full gutters around the house. Now the trim is pulling away front and back along the left side of the house. Through the process Ii have gone back and forth will Tilson to no avail. When engineering the house, the engineers opted to do a deeper foundation on the right side due to the grade of the land. They did this in place of putting in a retaining wall. I believe the weight of the concrete has caused this issue and they know it. It’s their screwup and won’t own up to it. They just shift the blame to us. There have been other Tilson homeowners with foundation problems. I thought I did my homework but guess I didn’t.Review fromOlaiz S

1 starI regret ever contracting Tilson Homes to build our home which was completed one year ago in Oct 2023. I first noticed their arrogance during construction. Simple things that needed to be address were never addressed. The house was delivered with scrap materials all over the back yard, wood, roofing materials and nails and more nails. We were without a stove for the first 2 months because they couldn't figure out it was stove for propane. Not sure how that passed inspection, that should make you wonder how they operate. Now that the house is built, I've been dealing with their service department claim after claim after claim with little to ZERO response. From a flooded master bathroom which took months to fix to AC vents and electrical outlets not working. The most recent, cabinet drawers that just don't close, that are warped and loose. We are so tired of dealing with Tilson.Review fromElizabeth M

2 starsTilson was great in the beginning, we were very happy with our Sales team. Our home was completed in Sept 2021, now exactly 3 years later we are having to completely replace our HVAC system. Customer Service/ Warranty team was not helpful, they just said sorry... warranty is one year. I advised they should not utilize this AC supplier. They also stated an engineering software produced the information that determined the size of the unit. Refrigeration technicians working on the unit can identify it is in fact, undersized and was not installed properly. Again, customer service not concerned that the AC unit they installed in our home failed in 3 years and is blowing mold in our house. After care support is NOT GOOD.Review fromRebecca C

5 starsI’m very pleased with the quality of my Tilson home. We built our home in Central TX about 15 years ago. We were especially pleased with the engineered concrete slab, that sucker isn’t shifting ever! We were able to do loads of sweat equity projects to cut the price in our favor. Actively participating in the building process was a learning experience that genuinely helped us understand the structure of our home. The value of our home has tripled and we’ll have it paid off this year. We LoVE our Tilson Home.Review fromGwen W

1 starThey are ghosting me on warranty work. The home is so bad they have spent over a year fixing issues. There is still a list of 10 major(some being structural) that they have not completed and won’t respond to me.
