I visited this business on October 15, 2021, for my yearly eye exam. The doctor first all was thirty minutes late and didn't apologize. After the exam, she reviewed my insurance coverage. She advised me that they were not paying for the fittings anymore so I had to pay for the fittings and for trying various contact lens options. So she charged me $100.00. I'm a senior on a tight budget, so I paid from my grocery money. I was never charged an amount in the past but this doctor is always making you pay for something, always. Even if it's drops, she would overcharge you for drops that another doctor would give you as a sample. Last year she was nicer and not money hunger, I guess it was COVID, that soften her heart. I called my insurance company to verify if the fittings were included. They advise me that fittings were included and I didn't need to pay for them. I went back for a follow-up on October 27, 2021. I explained that to the doctor and showed her the information that the insurance company sent me. Then she explained to me that the $100.00 was for the one-sample she gave me to try. It is not a practice of an optometrist to charge a patient for contact samples. She refused to give me my money back.
