The initial installation was done December 13, 2022, but they have been visiting me up to December 2024, trying to amend the mess they have created. The initial contract was to replace the back door. First installation, the door did not close without pushing it. So I have asked to re-install. Then the door frame was visibly tilted, protruding at the top about a half inch inside of the house. I have asked to re-install the frame as it was an eye sore. Then the sales person came ad told me the door is straight but the house is tilted. I somehow had them re-install the frame. The door frame is not straight so I can insert my pinky between the door and frame. The rubber sealer is not sealing the door, and I can see through outside. They came again and fixed some part but then they broke the frame. They just painted over and left. Since then, they have come to my house multiple times. Every time there was a reason the job could not get done. The frame he bought was too narrow, too short, wrong pattern, etc. Since December 2024, they stopped responding to my request. Total cost was $2633.79.I would like to have partial refund so I can get the door frame replaced.

In September 2022, Window World came out to install my 14 windows. On that day, windows #**, #**, and #3 were not right. So they came at another time and installed those 3 windows. Then windstorm inspector came out and failed them. Later was passed after they corrected the issues. Than later on, I discovered that my windows #9 & #** have been leaking (these are two windows together with the middle frame in between to make a double window into one). They came out to fix the leaks but couldnt fix it for about 4-5 attempts. Also I discovered that they short cut the installation and did not framed the metal rod to be stable and hurricane strength. They replaced these frames a total of 3 times. Those are finally fixed as for now with no leaks that i can see. They did credited to **************** $800 for the contractors quote to fix the damages caused by the leaks. During this time, I thought to myself if these two windows number #9 & #** are giving me such a hard time, that must mean the other windows of the same kind must be leaking also. Windows # 7 & #8. In one bedroom and windows #** & #** in the master bedroom. These windows were also leaking! Up to date, windows #7 & #8 were replaced and as of right now, not leaking that I can see. Window #** & #** however are not fixed nor replaced because they cant seem to get my sizes right. December 09, 2024, another scheduled day to replace my windows #** & #**. Again, the windows are not the correct sizes. Now Im being ignored and I have these unfinished, unsatisfied work from this company. I just wanted my windows fixed! And for them to fix the damages that these leaking windows have caused. I also found out that they do not have their own contractors. That was a sales lie.I was told that once windows #7 , and #** & #** are all completed that I will be compensated also for the damages that the leaks have cost. I asked for it in writing and never received it it. Install date 09-14-22 As of **-26-24 Unfinished

    Regards,

I would be satisfied but how many times do they have to reorder the windows to get the correct sizes to be installed.  Its been 4-5 scheduled appointments and each time they came out to install them but then Im told the bad news that theyre not the correct sizes again.  I hope that this time is finally correct!  I will be satisfied when my windows are finally replaced and with no more leaks. Thank you.

I had my house siding (vinyl siding) soffits and facia board replaced by Window World Houston in December 2023. It has only been 10 months since they did the job and the vinyl siding and vinyl corner pieces are now very wavy like they used an inferior product. The ends on some of the vinyl siding (mainly on th west side of the house) are deforming from the siding it is supposed to overlap (see pictures). This cannot be good for rain getting underneath. There is even one piece of vinyl siding on the back of the house that was cut short and was filled in with caulk to cover up this mistake. The soffit does not even line up with the corner pieces (see pictures) and and is using caulk to fill in the gap between the corner piece and the soffit. The vinyl J-channel is crooked and wavy also and does not cover the part of the soffit it is supposed to cover in some places. They replaced my facia board with a metal that was nailed in and it is dented from where they nailed it on and they have ruined my drip edge t

We purchased windows in 2018 from Window World. We had one pane replaced due to leaking seal about a year ago. Fast forward to early September of 2024 and the windows are leaking. We are not sure how long they have been leaking. There is substantial damage to the baseboard and the drywall had to be removed about 12 inches. This part of the floor is covered by a couch. The 3 to 4 foot area between the couch and the windows does not have foot traffic. I heard water dripping because my house was silent-which is very rare. When I walked behind my couch trying to determine where the dripping sound was coming from, I heard and felt water sloshing under the floor. Window World came and did the leak test and water is pouring under the window sill. They are willing to replace defected sash(s) but they will not cover any of the damage to our walls and floors. The poor quality of either the windows or installation is what caused the damage. I would not recommend purchasing windows from this company.

Had an entire house of windows, sliding door and back door replaced. The house was under remodeling so felt the crew knew they could make take the easy way out and basically destroy inside and outside the home. The Window World crews broke all the windows instead of removing panes, tore the sheet rock inside the home, took off siding from the outside of the house. Most of the crew was sitting outside while we were inside cleaning up all the glass and debris which they should have been doing. We have had windows replaced where no mess was made. All of the outside trim was NOT replaced, our windows were open to the elements during Hurricane *****.We want reimbursement of what our costs will be from our contractor for ALL repairs, inside the home and out.The slider was not close to fitting the opening but our contractor took over made necessary adjustments.Window World crew said when they arrived they would only be there 4, maybe 6 hours and the job ended up taking over 8 hours and most of them didn't want to work anymore.

We hired Window World to provide windows for our rental property at **************************************************************. We had to wait over a month for the windows to be delivered and installed, which was disclosed at the signing...this was acceptable. We were promised windows that would fit the existing openings from the old windows at this house with no change according to the salesman, ******. The only unknown was on one window which had some rotted wood underneath it. We were told that the installers would only add enough wood framing in order to secure the new window...no problem. And actually, the rotten wood was repaired by our own contractor the day of installation to our satisfaction. Now all the other windows on the house, different story. Per the attached pictures (note: not all windows on the house are in the pictures, these are merely representative samples), there are huge gaps remaining under each one and on the sides. The crew that did not speak any English intimidated and coerced my wife into signing a document that installation was acceptable while she had a screaming child in her arms. Clearly this is not an acceptable window installation and we were told by various Window World employees that this is normal. They said that since the house is undergoing renovations, our contractor can fix this. Yes, he can fix it, to the tune of $3500 additional out of pocket cost for us!! The windows needed to be 1-2 inches longer to close the gaps. Not to mention the extremely poor caulking job performed by the installers. Window World obviously outsources installation to the lowest bidder. All of this had to be re-done by our contractor. **** from Window World reviewed the site and says he cannot validate any repairs. The windows ordered were the incorrect size for the size of the opening. And the installation was poor at best. We are seeking restitution of the $3500 we had to pay in order to correct the shoddy workmanship by Window World's hired guns.

Window World---fully explained to our customers by way of the Sales *** of the work that was needed at the bottom of the windows. The customers chose to have this work done separately and is noted on the contract that they declined wood repair/declined maintenance. The windows are measured and installed correctly to industry standards.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 06/17/2024

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

There was only one window in which wood repair was discussed, and that was on the left side of the home. Where there was rotten wood, it was explained to us that this would need to be repaired in order to secure the window. The notation on the contract was, according to ******, to notify the installers that they cannot simply attach the window to the existing wood and to trigger them to send a crew that is capable of installing wood as needed.

The disagreement stems from the other 12 windows. We understood the 1 will require additional work to make it presentable. The finished installation of the other windows is 100% not acceptable and the failure of Window World to try and work out a solution is even more concerning. This resulted in $3500 in additional expenses on our part. Anyone who views the pictures and says this is acceptable workmanship should have his/her eyes checked. Extremely disappointed! Please reimburse cost of additional repairs or please coordinate with us replacing the windows to the correct size.

    Regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

I spoke to the Window World representative who informed me that once he inspected my home from the outside on April 4th, he determined that this is a "two-man job". He asked me to call the office to reschedule. Window World rescheduled the appointment for April 19th.

Subsequently, on the 19th, Window World representative called me to let me know that they will be coming that day to inspect my windows, only to call later that afternoon to tell me that they are running behind on another job and will not make it that day.

Window World rescheduled the appointment for May 15th. Finally a representative and two workers came, inspected the windows, and found multiple areas on all three window that needed to be resealed. They informed me that they will be back on Monday, the 20th to preform a "water test" to see if leaking is still a problem.

At this time, the issue with the leaking windows have not been resolved until a proper test is conducted and no leaks are present from the rain.

Window World has performed the initial inspection on 5-15-24 and final water test was performed on 5-20-24. The cause of the leak was determined to be from the customers DISH satellite bolted to the stucco wall above the windows. The DISH satellite was water tested and confirmed by the homeowner that it leak during this test. The customer was present and was informed and noted. The customer was provided with the inspection and leak report.

Complete window replacement of home. Windows were ordered on September 22,2022. Windows arrived October 18, 2022 and were scheduled and installed on October 25, 2022. At time of installtion, I brought up concerns with damanged frames, missing caulk around openings and the sound transmission through the windows, which the sales rep stated these windows would reduce sound and that the missing caulk should address, however it has not. there is no change in sound transmission from my 1970 single pane window vs these " low E" windows as you can clearly hear through the windows when closed, other customers I have discused with due not have this issue and even had same sales rep, so unsure if the windows as installed were properly sealed. In addition, all windows along the front of the house have single locks, however in the master, one window has 2 locks and the other one right next door has 1 lock. This was the start of the isuue. Window World acknoldeged the issue at the first install date and have been out every couple of months after I follow up with windows not being able to fit. This company has come out in addition, the following dates at least, other times, I have had the sales rep come out and inspect, which he has requested managers to come out and inspect, yet this never took place. 12/14/22, 3/16/23, 5/8/23, 6/20/23 all for the same window issue and still this company is unable to fit the windows properly. I have reached out to the sales rep, fabrication rep, install rep, store and others, each time I am instructed that a manager will call me back, yet never happens. I financed a portion of these windows and at this rate, I will have paid off the windows within a year of completion and the windows as installed are not as agreed and allow so much sound to pass through, its as if there always open. The windows are installed so tight, that when trying to open, you have to use some force and they scratch the frames due to no give in the window.

I contracted with Window World for 2 sets of doors (Front and Back) (5) doors in total. I requested to keep my existing doors (3) of which were antique and 2 solid pane French Doors. The workmen who were not supervised and could not speak English or understand English removed the doors and now they are lost. Company is brushing the situation aside and want to replace my doors with old doors from someone else's home. Supervisor is inadequate he attempted to value the doors that were lost but quit communicating. I have had a poor experience with this company, and I am at a loss. I used Window World before and had such a great experience. I guess a good experience does not deserve another or improve with time. I don't want to be unreasonable, but I don't want someone's old trashed-out doors in my house. Poor business, and a poor way to treat a customer. Window World came out on top with this transaction.

We started working with Window World in May of 2022 and needed just the windows at the back of our house to be replaced for now with plans to work again with window world when we were ready to do all of the windows. We secured financing within a day and waited for two weeks to hear back from our salesperson. When he finally got back with us--he said the windows would be in in 3-4 weeks. It was September 8 of 2022 that Window World finally came to do the job. It is October of 2022 and THEY STILL ARE NOT FINISHED AND THE WINDOWS DID NOT PASS THE STORM INSPECTION. One crew arrived to start the job and then they went to another job and a second crew came in. One of the crews took our alarm sensors. So we had no alarms on our doors and windows for several days due to the crew. We decided that we needed the alarms and so had to pay out of our own pocket to get more. One supervisor said they would reimburse us as it was their mistake. Another supervisor said they would not. We have had to call so many supervisors and not one has really helped. Also, the crew/s forgot to bring the trim. It took us almost a month to get trim dropped off and it wasn't even enough to do the job. Supposedly, today, October 11-someone is supposed to drop off more trim but I will believe it when I see it. Our salesperson told us this job would be done in a few hours. It has been over two months. We had two families in our area who were needing windows done and wanted to know how our experience was. We are a firm no on recommending window world at this point. Especially after the inspector had to file a complaint because the windows did not pass inspection. We spend thousands of dollars and we don't want anyone else to go through what we have gone through. We have tried to rectify directly with the company with no response so we are now going public.

    Better Business Bureau:

I had a very good conversation with Matt--based in Baton Rouge of Window World.  He understood our issues and we agreed to a financial number that was very fair.  He is also helping to address the windstorm inspection and I feel confident that this issue will also be taken care of.

    Thank you,
