On October 21, 2022, there was an electrical fire at my residence that I reside in with my two minor children. The Ft. ********************* the fire was caused do to arcing in the outlet. I have renters insurance and since the date of the incident I have been residing in a hotel at the expense of my insurance policy. Today is 12/6/2022 and Aventine has only managed to secure a contractor to complete the repairs as of 11/30/2022. I requested to be relieved of paying rent as the unit is now without electricity. There is no electricity and a large whole in the walls requiring repair and the carpets smell of smoke. On 11/30/2022 I was told I did not have to pay Dec 2022 rent, but what about a credit for November in which I was required to pay and I did not reside in the unit for the entire month. I do not have much time left on my policy to allow for continued stay in the hotel and I am fearful that my children and I will be homeless while we wait for Aventine/ Orion Real Estate Services to completed the repairs in a timely manner as contracted through the lease agreement. It is unacceptable that it took over 30-days to gather 3 bids from contractors, not including securing a contractor, the contractor then applying for the permits to begin working and inspection upon completion of work. The delay and lack of priority in resolving this matter is effecting my job and stability for myself and my minor children.
