On December 8th 2023 **** Stein dropped off 2 puppies to us. I have vet proof and confirmation at least the male was sick when he dropped them off to us. They will not release the female's vet records to my vet and they will not respond to us.The male has been on medication since we got him. The female has been off and on. Both dogs have a horrible cough that was indicated on the vet record of the male we purchased. The male also had/has giardia and had to be rushed to the emergency vet less than 6 days after we received him. The symptoms started on the 4th day we had him. Stein tried to tell us that we should had taken him to the vet within 3 days of receiving him per our contract. When he dropped the puppies off is when we saw the contract. I called our vet right after we received the dogs and set up the soonest appointment (December 13th) and immediately let Stein know that was their soonest. He said "Sounds good" but tries to use that as an excuse despite not telling us BEFORE dropping the puppies off to us.On December 8th he decided to tell us right then the male had worms at 5 weeks old and should be treated when he gets home. The vet records 4 days before dropping him off to us (December 4th) indicate he had worms. They also showed Stein denied treatment. Stein tried telling us all dogs come with worms and it's the breeders responsibility to take care of that. (Yes I have that in text). The notes on Steins vet records from December 4th show "Loose stool, liquid like. Hacky cough." which are all the symptoms our puppies were/are showing. **** agreed over a month ago to pay $1,200 if we didn't say anything publicly or go legal. He paid $700 and continues to run around with excuses or not paying on the dates he's telling us he will. We've spent over $2,000 at the vet for our dogs and think that's the MINIMUM they should be reimbursing us. We paid them $8,300.This is only after we received the dogs. Getting them and their papers were also a nightmare.

      Complaint: 21342109

I am rejecting this response because:

Stein told us once the puppy was in our hands he had worms and was treated at 6 weeks old and that was that.

Cowboy (Domino) was dropped off to us on 12/8/2023 at 13 weeks old. The vet paperwork from 12/4/2023 (4 days before he dropped him off to us) shows he tested positive for worms, had a cough that turned out to be kennel cough, and loose stool which turned out to be Giardia. Stein refused to provide actual vet notes/paperwork when requested, instead he provided the receipt (attached). I had to have my vet request that from theirs. They did not provide a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection with either of our dogs that we purchased from them. The **** requires any breeder transporting over state lines to provide this with every dog.

While the receipt he provided show ***** direct came back negative, Giardia has a gestation period and after 5 days of having the puppy, he was rushed to the emergency vet because of it. Our vet confirmed through blood tests his monocytes were high which indicates a long term infection.

****** and ****** were delivered to you in good health on 12/8/23.  You were informed ****** had threadworm and he was treated by ******************* before I did the delivery . You verbally agreed to follow up with your vet .****** s vet records was shared with you and nothing was hidden . January 11th  2024 you contacted me in regards to their cough etc.  Contract states that pup is to be examined including ***** test within 3-4 days after receiving pup .  It has been found you have traveled to multiple locations with the pups and they were placed on grounds . The pups are not fully vaccinated. I assisted with 75% of vet bills as a courtesy to help . All pups that were delivered with domino and ****** have been tested and cleared with no issues to date. You have requested their testimonials and that was shared with you . Papers were never an issue . You received Domino s papers before I delivered him and ****** s papers the day I handed her over to you .  It has been found that you plan to breed them two and expecting a litter this coming May . Those two are not even a year old . All of this is becoming alarming. At this time Im requesting you return ****** and ****** to me for a full refund . Please let me know how and when we can do this .  See attached documents .  Theres a letter attached from ******************* who examined ****** personally .

      Complaint: 21342109

I am rejecting this response because:

The breeder is not being honest. Domino (Cowboy) and Jolana (****) were not delivered to us healthy. I shouldn't have to go much further into this considering I attached the vet records indicating that ****** had a hacky cough (kennel cough) along with loose stool. Giardia in dogs has an incubation period of 5-12 days (quick ****** search). ****** started showing symptoms 3 days after arriving to us. He was rushed to the emergency vet 6 days after because the infection was so bad for so long. His monocytes were also way higher than what a normal puppies would be which also indicated a long term infection. This all indicating he had been sick before we took possession of him. ***** response when we told him the puppy was sick was I was nervous when traveling with pups as theres a virus going around thats attacking dogs with upper respiratory infection and pneumonia.  Hes not coughing or anything right ? Indicating he knew he was coughing. Again refer to vet notes.

On ***** last response you can see he sent a letter from his vet. But the puppy he is referring to was born 9/11/2023. The date this letter was written (8/3/2023) was over a month before that. The date the vet stated they examined the dog in the letter is 12/4/2023. I dont think this is a legitimate letter considering the dates do not add up. All of them are incorrect. The vet can not see an unborn dog or examine a dog 4 months in advance.

We received the puppies on Friday 12/8/2023. It wasn't until that day **** told us we needed to take the puppies to the vet within 72 hours. When we called our vet, their soonest appointment wasn't until the next Wednesday. We immediately alerted **** and he okay'd this. On the puppies first vet appointment on 12/13/2023 the vet told us that they were dehydrated and to watch them. The contract DOES NOT say a ***** test is required. The next day is when ****** was rushed to the vet. **** has not paid 75% of the vet bills. We have paid over $2,000 in bills and he has paid $712 out of the $1,200 he told us he would give us after we told him we would not go public or legal with this. He still has not paid the remaining and the bills are more than that at this point.

On 1/11/2024 when we originally had requested the vet records, **** sent us a copy of the receipt and the tests performed from the day he took the dogs to the vet (12/4). Not the doctors notes. We had to have our vet request the vet records in February. The vet records show the dogs were sick and showing symptoms and that **** denied treatment 4 days before he brought them to us. I'll attach this once again in case it was not seen the first time.
He did verbally tell us that Domino had worms. He dropped the puppy off to us at 13 weeks and told us the puppy had worms at 5 weeks old. The vet records show he had worms just 4 days before this and **** did not tell us he tested positive. **** also did not provide the **** required vet inspection paperwork when you sell a puppy over state lines. We still have not received any type of record from his vet for ****** to this date. Despite it being 4 months after weve received them.

Our dogs left the property AFTER they were sick because we had to take them with us to visit family for the holidays. They stayed in our cars and went to the restroom on a puppy pad in the trunk. Again, this was after the dogs had been confirmed sick by mine AND **************. **** posted videos of our sick puppies on his way to deliver them to us with 5 other dogs in a hotel room running around the floors.

We did plan on breeding these dogs when we purchased them and first got them. After they have been sick, we have decided not to do so until they are healthy and get the proper tests and clearance by our vet. We planned on breeding them AFTER the *** age limits. Since they say they are an *** breeder, they should know this but this is what it states: "Keep in mind that *** rules do not allow, except with special documentation, the registration of a litter out of a dam less than 8 months of age or more than 12 years of age at the time of mating, or by a sire less than 7 months of age or more than 12 years of age at the time of mating." **** bred the mother of Domino (Giorgia) at 10 months old. Her first heat.

In spring/summer 2023 I paid for a puppy with correspondence with ***** from Stein Schnauzers. After months of engaging discussion I am notified by **** Stein that he is unaware of the $4300 paid to ***** for a puppy but will honor it. Know, ***** contacted me to start this -offering puppies and is located at Stein Schnauzers. He also has/is buying and selling puppies for Stein. Stein attempts to offer other puppy and discusses delivery. States that the puppy I was to get is not black/red and AKC but rather CKC and black/tan. He declines full refund when I asked initially. I paid for delivery of puppy with a nanny, **** refuses to speak with my nanny because he doesn't know the nanny and I lose additional money. He was to then deliver puppy and he backed out saying i have to pay to deliver. After this he offers full refund and I accept. After two weeks I reach out asking for my money. He declines saying he has to sell puppy and then will only reimburse $400 per month. I said this is not acceptable and **** said to stop telling him how to run his business. I received $400 in September 2023 toward what is owed. I contacted lawyer and went to court. December 2023 I was awarded judgment of $6008 by ***** court. I have still not received any payment. Stein Schnauzers has purchased and sold many many dogs in this time and yet has not repaid me but $400 in September 2023 with $6008 still owed as per ***** Court judgement. Buyer beware this is one of many examples.

Payment was never sent directly to me . Payment was sent to another person and it had created trust issues . I reached out to ***** to get to the bottom of such transactions. ***** went back and forth with decisions .  She requested full refund and if that s the case she should be going after the person who she sent the $ to . I did not collect any $ from her . I offered her 2 pups for the trouble .  And that would have resolved everything.

Refused to provide dog to my nanny. Court granted judgement to me with my proof provided.  He has not paid as ordered by court. I also have writ of judgement

The breeders of Stein Mini Schnauzer **** and ***** sold us a sick puppy. After only having the puppy for 48 hours he was rushed to the vet and tested positive for Parvo. We asked the breeders to compensate us for the $543 vet bill, after our vet stated the puppy had to have come in contact with it before he was delivered to us. Initially **** gave two options reimbursement for the vet bill which was $543 or $543 off the sale of another puppy in the future. We choose the reimbursement for the vet bill. **** stated he would ***** the money after we sent over a copy of the vet records and email for the zelle transcation as requested by ****. When we reached out to him the next day he stated he would not be sending payment for compensation of the vet bill because he concluded that the puppy didn't come into contact while with him. He refuses to speak with our vet and he has now blocked us on his ******** account and stopped communicating with us via text messages. They are not reputable breeders .

On Nov 11 2023 I purchased a male mini schnauzer from **** Stein. The puppy went to his first vet visit 2 days later which revealed he had a hernia and extra claw but was otherwise okay. I reached out to Stein to ask for a partial refund to get this corrected since I should have known about them! He told me to leave them alone but after not letting the issue slide, he later told me he would refund me $200. The next day he stopped eating and started to vomit. I took him back to the vet and they did not diagnose him with anything. The next day he continued to vomit and had diarrhea I rushed him to the emergency vet to find out he had parvo. I told Stein he had parvo and he immediately said it was a false test and that he does not have parvo. I paid 3k to have the dog hospitalized for 2 days when I went to ask for reimbursement I was given the run around. The breeder let me know he would help with some after selling me a SICK PUPPY! Him and his business partner tried to go behind my back and talk to the vets to change the diagnosis despite me keeping them updated every step. I let them speak with the vet and they insulted her intelligence and told her he could have anything other than *****. The dog had to be hospitalized for 2 more days. They told the vets they would pay but only paid 1k of the $2250 deposit. My dog survived and was released, the breeders have run off on the rest of the vet bill and will not reimburse me any money that *** spent after selling me a puppy who had parvo. They continue to not take accountability and shift blame KNOWING the parvo came from them. The virus has an incubation period of 5-7 days and the vets have confirmed that he picked up parvo from the breeders. Please do not purchase a puppy from them, they are nasty despicable people who will do anything for money. They are now lying to concerned customers telling them my dog was cleared by the vet at his 1st appointment. They know exactly what theyre doing and they are WRONG!

I delivered the pup to her personally after he was cleared by my vet. Contract states that pup needs to be cleared by her vet within 3 days. She did that and the pup was cleared by her vet . When the pup got sick she contacted us and we ve been with her since day 1 supporting the condition he was in.  I have requested contact info where the pup was brought to and vet records to this date we have received no documents. I have contacted the other families where this pup s siblings have gone to and shared the news of a possible parvo outbreak. None of this pups siblings have parvo.  The remaining pups in my home who were associated with this pups were brought to my vet to get tested for parvo and all came back negative.  I offered to help with the expenses but again no vet records . I contacted my lawyer and basically its been more than 5 days and the new owner is responsible after I took serious actions to this whole matter.  She then blasted us on social media and my lawyer advise no more contacts with her .

      Complaint: 20985836

I am rejecting this response because: The puppy went to the vet and was cleared because he was not showing symptoms of parvo at the first examination, However he DID have a hernia and an extra claw which addressed the breeder about. He dismissed me and told me to leave them alone after I asked for a $200 refund. He told me he wouldve brought it to my attention if it were an issue. How is not informing a buyer about a health concern NOT an issue? I should have been told about these things. The next day the puppy started to show symptoms of parvo! The breeders request was granted for vet documentation, they even spoke to the vet and paid a partial bill for the pups second hospital stay after stating to the veterinary hospital that they would pay for it in full, which they have now run off on despite vets contacting them effortlessly. I have spoke with a litter mate parent and she did let me know her puppy was vomiting for 2 whole days, which is a symptom of parvo. This breeder has given me the run around at every chance, has purposely evaded questions and concerns and is obviously money hungry. He is lying on social media saying the puppy contracted parvo in my care which is impossible considering the incubation period. The vets have already wrote letters attesting to this. This breeder is disgusting, instead of reimbursing emergency vet bills Ive been belittled, disrespected, and lied to. *** asked for reimbursement countless times and it was extremely clear Id never receive it in a reasonable way.

On Jan 15 2021 I purchased a puppy from Stein Miniature Schnauzers. I was provided a 5yr certificate of health that animal was free of genetic birth defects. ***** was kept on suggested diet and all vaccines and veterinarian visits were kept up to date. ***** was spayed at six months as required. In Jan 2023 Puppy became extremely ill and had to be hospitalized for 3 days. I was advised that she had a genetic liver shunt and would require surgery. She was put on medication and special diet.I contacted Stein via text and later via a phone call. I provided all medical records. Stein stated they would assist with the bills but asked that I get a second opinion, which I did and then I also got a 3rd opinion as well. Stein also said he inquired with his own vet by taking in the charts that had been emailed from my vet to him. He said his vet also agreed that the Pup would require surgery to survive. On January 24th I emailed Stein all the medical records and total estimate for surgery. I spoke with **** and his partner ***** and kept them advised of process and procedures. I was assured that they would assist with cost and be making payment to medical bill. In March, and April I advised that the entire medical bill for the Puppy was over $11,000 but that I would see what would, if any, be covered by pet insurance. Fetch pet insurance denied all claims as it was medically proven to be an pre-existing birth defect.I spoke with Stein and sent him a copy of the insurance denial. Again they seemed concerned and agreed to make payments toward ****. At the time I told them I would be happy with them just paying half the actual surgery portion if it could be paid before any interest accured in July. No plan to pay happened and no attempt to make payment has occurred on their part since.I contacted **** via text in July and he asked if he could Venmo the payment. Nothing was paid. There has been no further attempt or contact.

I have not heard back from her in regards to ***** handle name.  Shes been busy and so have we so communication via text has been slow . I will follow up with her

I sent the deposit of $600 for two miniature schnauzer pups in June 2022 without any agreement contract. I felt a bit pushy from the Rob Stein who is the owner of Stein Miniature Schnauzers to put the deposit of I will lose them. I was under stress from him. After about one week later, I felt it was not a right time for me to adopt the pups due to work hours. I had to cancel this transaction due to several reasons. *** did say that he will send me the refund right away, but later he changed his mind and wanted to wait until he found another home for the pups. I waited for a while to see if the pups were taken. I kept asking him about that. He decided not to talk to me anymore. His another partner was nasty toward me. There is no way of getting the refund since they stopped talking to me. I would appreciate the refund of $600.

I would not recommend this breeder at all. Back in Aug ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** the ears then she got a really bad cough she was sick in sept sick in Oct rested in nov but got sick again in Dec. We had an appt in Dec to get her fixed after the blood work they did that day we found out they couldnt do it because she was in fact sick she has a (liver shunt) a liver shunt is an illness they are born with and is in the bloodline. So we contacted ****** Stein and let him know what was going on he was in denial and shock he wanted a 2nd opinion and so did we this is something very serious. So we took her to the specialist they did in fact confirm by a few test she did have liver shunt and was instructed to let the breeder know he is to stop all breeding with her bloodline (Mother-******* / Father- *******/ Grandfathers from dad are **** and Versailles ) but we seen on his page he didnt there was a litter from Dad after we told him. Anyhow we were told by specialist the surgery would be best because of complications down the road and us as owners also thought surgery was best mind you it does state HEALTH GUARANTEE IN THE CONTRACT FOR 7YEARS well he kept trying to tell us he has the last word so he didnt want us to do surgery I got all text messages to prove every single thing Im saying he kept insisting he wasnt gonna pay anything because he advised us not to do surgery and that we did surgery without letting him know which was another lie. He has only sent me $1000 thru venmo sense Jan 2022 all vet bills have came to $8452.08 every month he has excuses and mind you at times he ignores me and leaves me on read or tells me hes not responsible for the **** sense I choose to have the surgery but yet hes building a new home and still breeding away I am only asking for what his contract states hes responsible
