I placed an order for four pieces of aida cross stitch fabric. This should have been NEW and in pristine condition. Instead, the pieces are damaged and in unacceptable condition. All were folded into quarters. One piece has deep indentations in it that go through all four layers. ALL pieces are fraying quite badly at the edges because the edges are not serged, which is standard for every company I have ever ordered cross stitch fabric from. I contacted the company, they will accept returns BUT expect me to pay for return shipping, even though this fabric is DAMAGED. They ignore the indentations and claim I had to write a "special instruction" asking for the fabric to be serged. There is NO indication anywhere on the web pages for these fabrics, or anywhere on their site, saying this is procedure or store policy - so how would I know they send out unserged fabrics??? THAT is not typical policy, and the fabric is frayed badly enough just from their handling and packaging that I am losing nearly a quarter of an inch on most sides of the fabric pieces. No reputable store selling cross stitch fabric sends out pieces in this kind of condition. No reputable store then refuses to pay return postage for shipping the damaged items back for a refund. I have made a pdf of the listings for these fabrics to prove there are no directions saying that fabric serging must be a "special instruction" added by customer.
