I am currently building a new home & entered a contract on Nov 6 , 2023 for $65 a sq ft for countertops @ 197 total sq ft per my builders measurements for $14,500 minus 500 deposit balance $14,000 total ************************** from Floors Touch (owner) came out to my house on Jan 25,2024 and measured my cabinets , vanities sq ft for countertops on Jan 31,2024 I was told by *********** at his store that my builder must have measured incorrectly that the sq ft was 221 total sq ft so was charged an additional $2500 new Total $ ****** I was led to believe I could dispute this after installation as contract is based on measurements of total sq ft I felt since it would be accurate it wouldnt be an issue so I agreed & had counters installed on Feb 20,2024 after installation I had my builder measure the counters installed @ 197 total sq ft again & I then explained to *********** that maybe his measurements were wrong & asked for him to meet with us and our builder as I have requested a refund but was told my builder didnt know what he was doing & measured wrong again After several weeks of going to his store in person my ******** went to meet with *********** to try to resolve this matter yet again we finally received a copy of the template from Galaxy granite ****** since they measured & installed the countertops I felt confident we would finally be able to resolve this as numbers dont lie as the numbers that are on the template was measured with a tape measure by someone with over 20 yrs experience installing counters and measured using a touch pen that was linked to a machine that took the actual measurements that was used for the template used to cut the actual countertops installed in our house But during this meeting *********** told my ******** the measurements was now 209 but he had to charge for under mount sinks installation ( which is not on the contract it states sinks are included / no plumbing( that is it )after having the template measurements calculated by licensed professionals it is still @ 197 total sq ft so I went to Floors Touch to request a refund from *********** but this time was told the measurements are now @ 227 sq ft I was given 2 copies of this template 1 copy has all measurements & 1 copy has the same but with his calculations wrote on the template that he tried to show me how it is 227 sq ft now I can honestly say as a Disabled Combat Veteran I had the fortitude to ask *********** for a copy of this 2 page template with all his calculations to justify his claim of now being @ 227 total sq ft in which was a honest to god blessing because it is there and easy to see that he rounded the sq ft to over inflate the price by 30 sq ft I have the copies of the 2 templates & since receiving them I have had 3 licensed professionals calculate the measurements from the template & measure the countertops installed in my house all @ 197 sq ft not 1 even close to ************* claims as I have stated we have tried numerous times to no avail to resolve this matter and request a refund in the amount of $2595 ( 500 deposit already paid by check ) because that is what *********** of Floors Touch has overcharged on the price as it should never been changed from the $14,000 which was the original remaining balance but have been repeatedly told he was not giving a refund and unfortunately he has always changed the narrative to suit his desire to inflate the cost to keep it @ ****** in his favor such as other so called hidden fees that is not in the contract He forgets the contract states that is only based on the actual total measurements @ $65 a sq ft Thankfully numbers dont lie & a contract states everything that is being charged Hopefully he comes to his senses and has a licensed professional measure the template as they will explain you cant round numbers for actual sq ft because by doing that it is not 100% accurate.I am hopeful we receive our correct refund finally without having to take *********** and all parties involved to court to have this finally resolved.
