Today, 5/23/24 Texas AC and Heating of ********************************** came to install a Trane air-conditioner/furnace in our home. We currently have a (1) yr. old Trane installed by ************ of ******. We are replacing the 2nd Carrier Unit from the builder. We wanted another Trane due to a great year of service. ************ no longer carries Trane. We moved on after a 15 year relationship. In checking the install, we noticed that the outside protective covering for the foam insulated tubing had not been replaced. We were told that they do not replace this because it is merely cosmetic. We disagree, as it protects the foam that covers piping from the elements and sun rot. ************ had replaced the covering on the Trane unit they installed a year ago. As proud homeowners, we also value the cosmetic as well. A heated and insulting phone conversation with the owner, ***************** unnecessarily escalated into a shouting match over a minor request. He finally agreed to replace the covering at a later date. At ******************* request, we signed paperwork stating that this would be done free of charge. We elected to withhold $300 of the $10,725 total to ensure the job would be completed in a timely manner, if at all. Stalemate:The installers refused to take our check for $10,400 ($300 less) and refused to leave without payment in full. At the request of *****************, the installers told us we were committing a felony and called the police. ***************** kept using his installers as go-betweens instead of dealing directly with us. The police ******** ********************** with the *************** informed ***************** via phone that this was a civil matter and not something he could get involved with. He told the installers that they needed to leave our property. Before leaving, the installers refused the check once more (on video). They did not provide us with any paperwork regarding schematics, instructions, and/or warrantee.
