I ordered my couch online in December. I was able to see everything in my account including my agreement number, payment dates, etc. The website said someone would reach out to me. No one ever did so I called them. We finished setting up everything needed over the phone and then decided on when the couch would be delivered. Delivery date gets here and its not what I ordered. I contact the store and I was told that they didnt have what I ordered. This should have been told to me when we were setting up the agreement but it wasnt. The couch was already placed in my home so I said well ok Ill just keep it because now Im not waiting another two to three weeks on a couch and I dont have any other furniture. So I set the couch up contact the store and thats when she changed the agreement and the price was different and everything. She claimed she deleted the original agreement and replaced it with the new agreement. No problem. When I log into my online account there was nothing there. My agreement was not there. I coculdnt see anything other than my name and and banner that said my available approval amount and quick links. Even when I choose one of the quick links such as my account dashboard it shows nothing. Choosing the payment history only shows 2 payments for December and then it shows no other payments Ive made other than .1 cent. I contact the store she told me maybe to download the app and it would show. Ive been using the app the whole time so that cant be it. Then I was told to input the agreement number when logging in. I told her there was nowhere for me to input the agreement number. It only asks for my email address and password. She said she doesnt know what else to do so I contact customer support. They created a ticket and thats the last I heard from them and this was on January 30th. So I was hoping the issue would be resolved. Its frustrating to have to keep calling the store to make a payment. To this day the issue is still not resolved.Business Response

I have rented from rent a center for almost 3 years. Ive rented several items over these years and i have been on auto pay. Recently when *********** crashed my account was knocked out of bill pay and the store manager reached out to me about the payment. I was told it was one amount and then it changed to another. I asked questions but never got any answers. I requested to speak to a regional manager and was told i could not. After about a month of going back and forth i was able to talk to someone. After speaking to thios manager i found out that money was being taken from the company by several employees. I paid off my things and was still being charged for other things. They took around 3k of my money but only offered to pay back $176. I need someone to help me get my money back. This is unfair and morally wrong.Business Response

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer a year ago from Rent-A-Center. Typically I do the same as cash plan but something happened in life, I ended up having to pursue the rental agreement and they worked with me during my financial troubles in April and may 24. In July 24 they sent one of their staff as my washer spins it smells like a belt on a vacuum burning. They said they would get me a loaner, see about fixing it and *** the mgr said they were going to replace the washer with a new washer that was equal. Oct rolled around, still nothing during this time several messages went out, calls, then in Jan 25 I filed the complaint with headquarters so the local ****** store contacted me and said we will swap your washer/dryer out with a fair condition set. I said this was supposed to have been done in Oct 24 then again in Dec 24, in Jan 25 it took me contacting headquarters to get a response. He offered me the month at no cost and reported he'd call everyday until the set was swapped out. He called 2 days and nothing since...I told him ahead I work Sunday evening until Wednesday morning 13 hour midnights so I cant answer midday but leave messages or text from their store app. Month of Feb I had issues with my card, I had things come up with my health that wiped me out of work, I was very ill with pneumonia and influenza A. So I said well I'm not paying for a washer that's broken and often have to do laundry at my mom's which is a hardship...as a single mom of 4 children and 4 HUSKIES! I don't have time for extra trips. They promised me a washer replacement NEW in July 24, Oct 24 and Dec 24 and lastly Jan 24...then said they had a fair conditioned one perhaps but couldnt do anything until my account was up to date and offered me to pay half of what I owed.. 150 for a month. So I paid it in early March 25 and was told they'd get back to me in 2 days. They said by Friday on multiple phone conversations - here we are to the end of March and NO washer!Business Response

The manager *** called me this morning and said he wanted to resolve this issue. He had me sign a document that my washer and dryer would be switched out for a brand new washer and dryer as this has been going on for almost a year without resolution and clear communication. He asked if I would mind calling the better Business bureau to withdraw the complaint. I am fine with withdrawing the complaint as long as Saturday they come and deliver the machines as promised. I'm not a file complaint kind of person this whole situation was frustrating. They've been great in the past during hardships and past transactions....this was just overall a bad experience and hopefully the lightbulb went on when the complaint was filed to avoid these types of incidents in future.
If okay I will withdraw the complaint as long as if dor some reason they do not deliver as promised I can refile a complaint!

Rent-A-Center brought me a brand new washer and dryer Saturday 3/29. I've had time to use the set and I must admit I'm disappointed in this swap out. The swap out is a cheaper model of **. It's not comparable to the set I purchased initially.
Rent a center's expectations are for me to continue paying for the washer and dryer I purchased at cost that was purchased last year for a set that retails less until previous whirlpool set is paid off. Which means during the last year I've paid for a set I couldn't use a vast majority of the time due to washer malfunction to a set that is of lesser quality, financially cheaper but I'm paying for a higher end set that I no longer have.
I would like RAC to submit the price of my whirlpool washer and dryer I purchased last year at cost... last year and submit the cost of the new ** set they provided me at cost right now. I've done the research and I don't think it is unfair to say had this been the set I originally purchased it would of been lower payment and paid off. If this is an even trade it's more than paid off. I don't believe I should further be making payments. I've spent 8 months trying to obtain assistance with my washer as it was brand new under their warranty and it wasn't until I contacted BBB did I get a swap out. I feel that I have been not heard. I value their business and giving them business. They know as long as I have children and huskies I'll always need something...I'm not certain I can say I want to proceed with further business and I know this washer and dryer won't with stand the need that comes with being a household where 1-2 loads or more of wash are done daily! It's rather flimsy and cheaply made. It was my 17 yr old son who said mom this drawer for detergent is plastic and won't last and dryer door is super flimsy as well .. please advise!

I am rejecting this response because: the GE set I was given as a replacement is a lower end washer and dryer than the original whirlpool set I purchased AND RAC is making me continue paying for the HIGHER end whirlpool set. I think at this point either we consider us even with the lower end set or they replace me with the exact monetary value set I purchased brand new. This has been going on since July 2024 at some point here enough is enough.Business Response

I was renting a Playstation 5 with 2 controllers from Rent a Center in shawnee OK. The Playstation stopped working and I called them .first they told me to take it to CPR to have it fixed. I called back and asked them to pick it up . They came and got it and today they came back to give it back to me and I told them I didn't want it back and the manager called me and told me I have to take it back . I told her I'm not taking it back whatever they do with it is of there own free will because I will not be responsible for it. I also told her I can't afford to pay it anymore and I don't want it. The driver then reached over a lock gate at the entrance to the driveway and tied it in a bag to the pole the gate is on and drove away. There is also a no Trespassing sign posted on the pole right above where the driver tied it to the pole. The manager also said they couldn't fix it and I would need to take it to get fixed and pay for it.Business Response
