I contacted rent a center on May 31,2024 to let them know my debit card was stolen and my payment was going to be late and also that my hours at work were going to be cut back because my Dad is in the end stages of life and also that the ****** loveseat already has the cushion part is going flat and to see if something could be worked out for something cheaper until things get settled in my life. Due to my Dad in the hospital I couldn't make it on Saturday as planned. I called rent a center on Friday June 7, 2024 just to be called liar and told there was no way I didn't have access to money in my account. There are no ***** Fargo banks near me that I can walk into and get money. I told the manager of the Bridgeport wv store after being called a liar and told that he wasn't waiting another day for the payment to come and get the sofa. He wanted to come Saturday but I'm not leaving my dad at the hospital for them to pick it up Saturday because my dad is dying. I believe I'm being over charged anyway because when I ordered the sofa it was $23.99 a week not $37.99 a week that I'm being charged. The people there are rude and they have no right calling anyone a liar. I think I should be reimbursed the money I paid. I have had the sofa a month and sat it on about four times and the cushions have body imprints in them already.Business Response

On June 7, 2024 at 6:14 pm Rent a Center fraudulently used a debit card as a payment on my account that I had previously used without my authorization. I am not enrolled in auto pay so no card should not have been used unless I used it. Not only did they use that card they tried to use two other cards that I had previously used on the account without success. Which hsd caused issues on my account. This is an unethical practice as well as borderline, if not theft! That was not the card that my payment would have been made from.Business Response

I have been doing business with rent a center for years. When you open an account the comps wants you to set up automatic payment for your account. The staff in the store basically harass you until you do. I set up for my payment to be automatically withdrawn from my checking account every week. ($161). For the past 2 months my payments have not been automatically withdrawn. I will receive an email the day before the payment is due letting me know about the upcoming payment. The next day the payment is due its not taking from my account. I set up auto pay for the reason of me not having to worry about my payment being made because I know it will automatically be withdrawn. I have spoken with the manager at the ************* (victory crossing location) about my payments not being withdrawn. They have not resolved this problem. Im being told to set up another auto pay and just have it taken from my debit card. It very unprofessional to tell me how to make my payments when Ive always made my payment through my checking account. The staff is of no help when I ask about getting this problem resolved. I should have the choice of making my payments the way I see fit and the nonchalant attitude of the staff is ridiculous. I am considering returning the merchandise I have and going to another rental company. I need to know why my payments stopped coming out automatically and would like it fixed. Paid for working electric stove in Feb 2023. 2 days after it was paid in full, the stove would no longer work. It had a warranty so they came and picked it up for service. They have brought the still broken stove back 3 times in the months since. I would like a working stove to which was paid for. They are trying to run out warranty without fixing the problem which is in my mind breach of contract and fraud. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Business Response

Rented a bed set and ** from RAC. Easy enough process initially. Decent customer service. Then I get a call today 06/04/2024 from a lady who claimed to be the Assistant Store Manager stating delivery would be made today. I accept delivery and then notice the remote they showcased the ** to us was not the one we were actually given. The remote that was showcased had voice control and other smart features. The remote we received was a highly used dirty stained remote that was not at all new. The ** we purchased was contracted as a new **. The remote was used. I attempted to rectify the issue with the store via a phone call and the female Assistant Store Manager hung the phone up in my face because she stated she had other customers. She did not once say can I put you on hold or anything. She was upset because I was questioning them on their false advertising the remote. A small issue that could have easily been resolved but instead was blown up when she hung the phone up in my face. The people around me who heard her on speaker were shocked. The call was also recorded and I have the audio proof. I planned on being a very loyal customer as were ****************** a new house but Ill take my business elsewhere.Business Response

Rent-A-Center keeps sending drivers and mailings to my address looking for someone that does not live there. I have told the driver (same person) three times that the individual does not live at this address. I sent back the mailing noted that the individual does not live here. When I called the store and spoke to ****** on June 4, he refused to stop sending people or to call the individual - he then told me I could "go to the store and say it to his face" about the harassment. I spoke to the *************************** on June 4 as well and they are also refusing to contact the person in question. I do not have an account with them and they refuse to stop sending people out for someone who has never lived at this location.Business Response

I rented a scooter from Rent A Center and found out it had no breaks when I tried it.I called the company to return it and they said not to bother until the following Monday and that's when I did return it.They told me they would have someone fix it and they never did. I 'ordered' another scooter and waited 2 and a 1/2 months and it never came and never got a call. I called weekly in which no one knew anything about it. I then called and told them "I did not need the scooter" and I would like a refund for the last week and a 1/2 that it wasn't used.He said okay, but when I went in, he said he didn't do that and said there was nothing he could do and I was "SOL"I have reached out to the General manager who never called me and said it was "resolved" in the paperwork. I then reached out to escalate the problem to the original director and still never gotta call. They put in the computer that it was "resolved" once agin without ever reaching out to me. I just want the money that is owed back to me. They offered me $10 but THEY broke their contract and I am now asking for the full amount of $116.94.I would have been happy with getting the week and 1/2 equivalent back, but after being harassed by **** the manager at the Lewiston Rent A Center office and all the ugly things he said to me. I just want my money back. They were have been very unprofessional. In all this and I've been harassed as a woman. I do not feel comfortable even going in there anymore.Business Response

I'm not too sure on the exact dates but rent a center has everything on record and it all has happen within these last two months.. went into the store and knew exactly what I wanted I asked them to order it and when it arrived it was the wrong item I told them that and they said the right order would be made after waiting a week I look on the site and notice the item I wanted was taken off completely after being told it was going to be ordered to I called and they treated me like I was crazy and the item I asked for never exist I was then asked to settle for a different item. I told them they could order it and I would take a look after waiting 2 more weeks the pc came in and had lower specs than the one I had plus I had noticed the one I had originally wanted was back in stock so I asked if they could just order it since they messed up the order to begin with .. I was then told I could not get the computer I asked for and that I had to go to another store I would then called foul names by the manager ***************************** now its been 3 weeks later and still no pc exchange the pc they gave me ****** works and last time I called I was told Im being transferred to a store over a hour away from where I live when this store is only 20 minutes or less away from me....Business Response
