1 starAt first, I was very satisfied with Bacon Plumbing, which made my later experience all the more disappointing. I recently had them install a whole-home surge protector and was charged $1,512.19 for the product and installation. After having a different electrician out for unrelated work, I learned that the specific unit installed — an Eaton Type 2 SPD — costs under $200 at Home Depot. This pricing is not just marked up — it's exploitative. I understand that companies charge for labor and expertise, but this level of overcharging feels predatory. It appears that Bacon Plumbing takes advantage of customers who may not know the going rate for parts and services. I can no longer recommend this company and would caution others to research pricing independently before approving any work. I feel taken advantage of, and I hope this review helps others avoid a similar experience.Review fromTIMOTHY B

1 starI had a very disappointing experience with Bacon Plumbing. While the technicians were professional, the supervisor was dismissive and unhelpful when I asked for clarification about the charges. Instead of explaining the costs, he seemed offended that I questioned them and pressured me to approve more work without transparency. Worse, he insisted I pay upfront before the work even started, and what makes it worse is that the supervisor himself is Blackyet he clearly doesnt trust Black customers. No one should be treated this way. Transparency, respect, and fair treatment should be standard, but unfortunately, that was not my experience. I will not be using their services againReview fromCheyanne M

1 starSTAY AWAY!!!Beware that they will charge you astronomical prices if they get even the slightest idea that you aren't aware how much the service should actually cost. The will take advantage of you if they ****** spouse wasn't aware of how much it should cost to put in an electrical outlet and a surge protector in our breaker box. Note that we didn't even have them out there for the surge protector but they scared my spouse into agreeing to it. Then charged us $1900. And apparently that price was discounted by some family plan they conned us into.Luckily I got off work before they were able to charge $1500 to install a gas cut off valve and add barely 5" of pipe. I know they were trying to rip us off because of course that it a totally outrageous price, but also because right after I complained they came back to me with a price $1000 cheaper and called it a managers discount. Absolutely ridiculous. And I got the work done by someone else even cheaper than that! Not sure if you've caught on yet but charging crazy high prices like that and taking advantage of people is fraud. I will be reporting them for this.Review fromSandra J

2 starsMy 83 yr old moms ac was only blowing hot air. I was visiting her and I found Bacon plumbing.. I wish I would have read the reviews first!! They said her coil was bad and charged her like $2500 to install it, the part was under warranty. Was later told by another AC person they would have only charger her $1200!! Then they did a hung right swing for unit and charged her another $2000, all in all her total was 5K. **** ***** got a nice bonus for selling us on this. This was on 10/26, ***** put antifreeze in it and since we were paying 5k we would not have to pay for anitfreeze!! lol Then they came out and installed everything on 10/30 and by 11/1 her air was not working again! It was showing 85 on the thermostat for 3 days. Then **** the field supervisor came out 11/4 and said oh a wire had come undone, and I asked if it had something to do with the install, and of course they said oh no!! After he left after being there for an hour it was still 85 in my moms house all night long. Called again this morning 11/5/24 and **** the field supervisor is on his way again to see what the issue is. I spoke to **** and advised him I feel bad because I told my mom to use them and so far they have not fixed her AC after 5k and 3 visits now 4 today. **** assured me he would make sure her unit was cooling before he left and she would not be charged any more fees. I will come back with update after he leaves today.Review fromWilliam C

1 starWe got quotes from three plumbing companies to make men's & women's restroom repairs at a fitness facility. They all quoted similar dollar amounts for the work. Bacon Plumbing offered the longest warranty, so we engaged them. The next day after they started working, they had us meet one of their supervisors, ***** ****, at the building to discuss additional plumbing work. ***** told us that virtually all of the plumbing needed replacing. One hour later we received their estimate of $117,000 for the additional work. This was in addition to $20,000 for the original repair job. This was obviously a bait-and-switch routine. That seems to be Bacon's M.O. We told them to stop working and leave the holes and tunnels open so we could get a second opinion on whether or not additional repairs were needed. But they immediately sealed the holes with new concrete and departed without finishing the original repairs. Then they made an unauthorized charge on our credit card for the second half of their estimate, even though the work was unfinished. They left a toilet sitting sideways in the men's room, not connected to any plumbing. There was a PVC pipe sticking up 3 inches from the shower drain in the women's room. That pipe was emitting a foul sewage odor because they didn't even pour water into the *** trap. We had to hire another plumbing company to fix the original problems and to finish the work, at an additional $21,000. When the second company re-opened the holes, they found two broken pipes and three cut pipes. Water was pouring out of one of the cut pipes. There was a large pool of water under the building that they had to pump out before they could do any work. We filed an official complaint with the ***************** of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE). They are now investigating. If you've had a similar experience with Bacon, I urge you to file a complaint with *****. They are online and the process is very easy. allReview fromJoylonna B

1 star*** Cracked sewer line replacement cost $32K. It was not necessary. Competitor did an inspection and the sewer line is completely intact. Technician tried to scam an elderly person. I would not suggest this company for your plumbing needs.Review fromShelly T

1 starMy parents were completely scammed when we called Bacon to look at the electricity. Their electricity was completely out, so I called Bacon to get an estimate. The representative happily said that there would not be a service charge, but failed to mention how expensive the diagnostic charge would be. My mom said that the service man spent very little time "diagnosing" a problem, yet he charged over $300 to tell her what needed to be done! Then he also said that the outside electric panel was my homeowner's responsibility, which is not true. That is the responsibility of the Mobile Home Park (found out after the repair man left). My parents are senior citizens on a fixed income and did not have the extra money to afford this expense. When I emailed the company with my complaint, I got a call back the same day, but then I was told she would check into the matter and call me back. I never received another call. The first representative should have been more honest with the actual estimate, and my parents would not be in this situation in the first place. The entire transaction was held in the most dishonest and unprofessional manner. We will never use Bacon Plumbing, Heating, Air and Electric again!Review fromRobert M

1 starAsked about a leak at hot water heater & got conned into a 13k with 17k interest for full home recipe. Then to top it off have less hot water than I originally did in furthest bathroom that technician said could have been caused by the repipe. Asked if I wanted an estimate to fix.Review fromTara D

2 starsSadly I have found out Bacon's sewer replacement we paid $36,000 is 3 to 4 times what it should have cost (less than $9,000, probably closer to $5,000). They were the third company we had out for the sewer issue, and we were taken in by the seeming respectful way we were treated. When given the quote, we had no idea what the price should be and we were running out of time to fix it before things got serious. I was shocked, and I commented, "that's a car payment." But the financing was approved and they could begin almost right away. In all fairness the work seemed top-notch and we've had no problems (the reason for the two stars). But I'm left feeling duped and extremely taken advantage of, and we'll be in debt the rest of our lives for this one repair while forced to postpone other critical items such as roof and external water mitigation. This is by far the most expensive "stupid tax" I've ever paid.Review fromAimee H.

Bacon installed a new tankless water heater and I signed up for their Friends and Family ongoing service to have no cost checkups going forward. They call constantly to schedule, which is good but the issue I have is that they continue to cancel on me every time I schedule a routine maintenance visit. I assume because they already have my money and will not gain anything from coming out to due a routine checkup or perhaps this ******** based company still hasn't permitted itself to do business in *********** as they were caught by the city inspector when they installed my water heater. Either way I will not be using their services again since they cannot keep an appointment.Bacon Plumbing, Heating, Air and Electric

Hi *****,
We'd love an opportunity to make this right. Our plumbing manager will be reaching out to you shortly to discuss options and to make sure you're 100% satisfied with our work. We've also notified our call center manager about the re-scheduling concern and we'll be implementing some changes to remedy this as well.
