I contracted with Greenstar Power to upgrade my solar system to include additional solar panels and two batteries to act as a backup during power outages and power my home overnight. I gave them max usage and average usage, and the **** **** ****, said I would have no electric bills giving no increase in usage.I have texts involving the question I asked and the response he gave which was I wouldn't have an electric bill afterward. The system was installed on 10/11/2025 and I have yet to get a zero electric bill, and unlike the original system, nothing is going back to the grid as excess production which normally would offset higher costs during the heating/cooling ********* electric bills since installation were 2/3/2025 $194.99 1/2/2025$117.50 12/4/2024$174.34 There is also a commitment of $150.00 reimbursement for power generation lost over three weeks where it took that long to replace a defective battery. As well as a promise to make some financial restitution in addition to that for underperforming.I am still not convinced all panels are performing up to their expected output compared to others of the same age, and I cannot get the company (**** ****) to return my texts, calls, or emails. While I have selected a refund as the desired resolution, all I want is to get the system to perform as promised and a refund for the three electric bills ($486.00) and the $150.00 promised e during the battery problem. I have uploaded a screenshot of the text message commiting to the zero electric bill.I thank you in advance for your attention, assistance, and favorable solution,*** T. ********Customer response

I'm fed up, therefore I am writing this review, but maybe it'll finally make Oakley from greenstar understand that his constant harassment about Solar is completely unacceptable. I told him on Oct 30th, I wasn't interested, he had the nerve to ring my doorbell again today, this time with his manager.1. He asked to see the contract I recently signed with another Solar company.on 30 Oct 2024, I informed him I wasn't interested and please leave me alone. Today on 14 Nov 2024, he rang my doorbell once again with his manager.Business response

I feel we were scammed by Greenstar sales rep that came to our house. They said we would have a $0 electric bill. Well we have yet to receive that $0. No one has helped us or nothing. I feel like they need to stand up to what their sale rep promised us. I pay to much for them to not have a zero bill. Like i am using 500 kw or less and still paying a bill. Greenstar power contacted us and said they cant help us because they used a third party sales rep. ******* the sales rep. who came out was representing Greenstar Power and promised we would get a credit and we did not receive a tax credit this year and he also said someone would call to help us through the process, so that means our payment goes up $100, he promised a zero bill, he promised the system would produce 2500kw and this is FALSE ADVERTISMENT. He also changed our loan documents to make our income more than what it is. Among other things we were done wrong by this company.Business response

I have reviewed your contract with our company and I dont see any mention of quoting you a 0 electric bill since you will always have a charge for your meter and taxes regardless of how much your solar produces. Currently your solar is producing exactly as designed and proposed to you in the original presentation by our sales representative. Anytime something is promised outside of the normal system quote our sales teams are trained to always put it in the notes so that it is understood by all parties concerned there is no mention of you having a 0 electric bill. If you would like to send us your current electric bill showing your present consumption we can look at your production compared to what you are consuming and see if we can help in anyway. As for you being able to receive a tax credit that is explained by our sales rep that you would be entitled to a 30% federal tax credit provided you have enough tax liability. You must have understood because you initialed the box where it is stated on your contract that we never give tax advice and if you arent sure or have questions we advise you to talk with your tax consultant prior to signing and agreeing to the terms of your contract. This is also shown to you again on your loan documents in detail. In closing we have installed what was engineered and designed for your home per the information you provided and then you agreed for us to move forward.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: Your sales ***** ******** told us these things verbally. He told us that we would have a zero bill, he told us that someone from greenstar would help us with the tax credit filing and they would contact us during tax time. He also stated that the system he designed for our house would produce 2500kw, he also stated that we wouldn't get Oncor charges and even had a laminated sheet showing it. ******* had come to our house multiple times and one time my ************ was there and even she remembers ******* telling us these things. I also had my childs therapist there twice while he was there. ******* came the day we signed and told us he was frustrated that he didnt sale a system, which is why i think he changed our income. ******* came in that day verbally saying all these lies to us to make his commission, so while would he list the lies in his notes. Now I have a leak from the system, so how are we gonna resolve that? I mean you have a 25 year workmanship warranty, do you not?
We have talked to a women at your office and she said we are not the only homeowners affected by ******** she said "There are multiple homeowners told the same thing as you." I got the messages to prove that.

After talking with both my operations team and my service department we have no knowledge of you reporting to anyone here that you have a roof leak that you feel is due to the Solar we installed. I have asked that our service team reach out to you to set up a time that we can come out and if the leak is in fact due to the solar install, we will absolutely fix it at no charge to you and yes you do have a 25-year workmanship warranty on the Solar work that was done at your home.
Should you have any further issues please don't hesitate to contact our main office line at ************ and let anyone that answers know what the issue is and we will make sure our service team contacts you to resolve it.

I am rejecting this response because:I appreciate quick response, but not liking the fact of ignoring the original issue at hand. You have failed to comment on the fact that your sells rep made promises in front of me, my wife, my ************ and Physical therapist. I have grounds for a false advertisement suet against this company. I was hoping to resolve something without having to resort to that.
As for my roof i have not received contact from yall, and great to see yall have warranties. I will reach out to yall about the roof if i dont hear from yall by Monday.

We had purchased solar panels from this company. Suddenly there was a recalled part causing the panels to be completely out and not working. Which then resulted in high CPS energy bills. They were replaced about 2 months after going out. So we had Cps bills at $150-300+. Once the part was fixed (no cost to us) we still had high bills as the panels start collecting energy again. We had I want to say 4 high months of CPS energy bills that we shouldnt have to pay considering it was an issue on their end not ours. When I reported this to them they gave me the run around for a few days. I had to reach out again and they stated for me to contact the parts company. So I did. The parts company stated GreenStar is known for directing people their way when theyre not responsible for that part and I was redirected to GreenStar. Finally after a couple days of me reaching out they responded with saying though it wasnt my fault (the home owner) that its not their fault either and they wont be refunding me or paying for those high bills that only occurred because of their recalled part. I would like payment for those months. It is not right that we are being left with the bills.Business response

I would like to begin with the fact that we at GreenStar Power are happy that ********* and her husband have had several years since they purchased the system from our company and have enjoyed the savings over now almost 4 years. It is however unfortunate that she had a warranty issue last year in July when a part became defective. She contacted us and we sent out an electrician as soon as possible as we do with all of customers. We investigated and found that a part was defective, and it needed to be ordered, which it was, within 24 hours. We were asked if there was anyone she could call and of course we gave her the manufacturers contact information as she requested. The system was inoperable for approximately 35 days until the part came in and we installed it. Unlike other companies we did not even charge a service call to replace a warranty part several years later. Just to be clear we are simply a sales and installation company, and we strive daily to help our customers as quickly as possible. However, if a part is not in stock and needs to be ordered we too are at the mercy of the manufacturer, but we do our best to correct the problem as quickly as possible. Lastly, we do not reimburse customers for a warranty issue which is the same procedure as most all companies that offer sales and cover warranty issues.Initial Complaint

We financed a $95,000 solar panel and generator system. Our salesman, *******************, promised to pay 6 months of loan payments before our loan payments started. $286 per month for 6 months. We have texted ***** and **** and ***** promised two weekends in a row to bring our payment and has not brought the payment and has stopped responding to messages. Very unprofessional. Our system installation drug out for months, our generator installation and inspection drug out for months and we were patient with all of it. I just want them to follow through on their promise. This whole process has been a nightmare.Business response

Once this customer reached out to me I immediately reached out to the sales rep who said he would make sure that he dropped off the payment to ******* and her partner in 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed and the partner reached out to me to let me know the rep never showed so I told her that we would send her a check not only for the 6 payments, he promised but 2 additional payments for their frustration level for a total of $2,288. Their System is working very well now and hopefully we have impressed them enough to understand that GreenStar Power is a quality company and we do stand behind all we sell and install.
Note: That particular Sales Rep is no longer with our organization after this. we do not tolerate a customer being misled for any reason!!

I have had an issue with a local solar energy company, I am currently paying a loan for my solar array. I got them installed some time in July 2022, I realized that they were not working until September. The array worked for 2 days producing power and the inverterblew because of peak production. I submitted a request to get a new inverter but was told of a supply chain issue, meanwhile they were still installing new customers. It took them till October to get someone to install the new inverter, theycame to install it after the supply chain was repaired and immediately found out that it had blown out due to surge from the solar panels. I notified them again about the inverter and they had the inverter shipped to my house and have not sent someone to install it yet. It is almost December and I have not had my solar array producing power and have still been making payments, a service I have not receivedfor 6 months. I am still trying to work with them on getting this situation resolved, I have told them that if this 3rd inverter fails I will request them to remove the array completely.Customer response

Greenstar Power was contracted to install solar panels at my home. In the contract for this service, I was promised 6 months of payments toward my solar panels loan, as well as a rebate from CPS Energy. Throughout the process, it has been nearly impossible to get communication from this company. I was given very short or little notice at all when I was supposed to be home to let workers in to insulate the attic, I had to text and email multiple times and parties to get updates on the project, and now that the solar panels are installed (but still not turned on) the loan company for the panels wants to start my payments. On Aug. 31, I contacted my project manager, *******, asking for an update on the 6 months rebate check. At that time, he texted me back that the check had been sent out and I could expect it by the following Friday. When I did not receive a check, I texted him, and emailed the owner of the company on Sept. 12 asking for an update on the status of the rebate check. I have not received any response from anyone. At that time, I erroneously thought that CPS Energy had completed its inspection and turned the system on. In fact, they had not. My inspection date keeps being changed, whether by CPS Energy or Greenstar Power, I don't know.Customer response

i purchased my solar panels right after i bought my house in October. They installed in January, Due to their neglect wasnt operational until March. I have a backup battery that is not operational, but im still required to pay for it every month. I have called several times and no one picks up or returns calls. They came out once to check on my issue and said they needed a part, for a new system? Has been radio silence since. They have no active number or customer service. They just want money and could care less about providing a service. I was told i would have a less than ****************************** receive checks from the electricity company, but yet i have a normal no solar bill amount of 250 a month plus im having to pay 180 a month for the panels that arent producing enough energy to help me. This was a complete scam on a single mother that was just trying to save when buying her first home and they did not follow through on their promises.Business response

Learning that ************** was having some problems with her battery system which is connected via her Solar I arranged with ******* for her to be home today to meet with our Master Electrician so that he could take the time to de-install and re-install which basically means he rebuilt the ********* site for her battery system which connects when her home is without power. The system is now connected to ********* for monitoring and we showed her a "mock" creation of a power outage and her system worked without any problems. My electrician then mentioned to call him directly should the power ever go out and her system not come back on via her batteries. We believe ************** is happy now and we're here to help any way we can.
