After opening a $1400 retainer with Silberman Law Firm, I shared documents related to my legal inquiry early morning on 11/1/******* this initial correspondence, I asked to meet my counsel at the earliest convenience to provide context on the case before expending time and resources. My counsel informed me that they were busy with other engagements until later that afternoon. Despite my counsel at Silberman declining to meet due to unavailability to support my legal needs, I was told that same afternoon on a call that much of my retainer had already been exhausted before joining the introductory call on 11/1/24. I explicitly asked to conserve the time in review of the documents until after the intro call. After counsel used the first segment of time on the call to repeatedly state my financial obligations based simply on the number of pages of documents that were conveyed, it was made clear that my counsel had only a cursory understanding of my legal needs based mostly on information gather during a non-billable inquiry I made before providing my retainer and signing up for legal services. The additional time on the call was used clarifying and correcting my counsel's misguided interpretation of my case.Based on the intro call, it was clear that Silberman was not suited to support my legal needs. I requested to close my retainer. In response, I was sent an invoice for ~4hrs of work that was supposedly completed during the period of time when counsel told me they were not available to meet. In good faith, I offered to pay ~$400 for the limited service provided during the entire brief engagement on the afternoon 11/1/2024. Silberman insisted on keeping the retainer and stopped responding to my communications. I disputed these charges with my credit card provider which is currently under review. It is clear that the objective of this engagement was to deplete my retainer funds as fast as possible without consideration for my legal needs or explicit requests.

I am inquiring with BBB due to ***************************, the attorney at Silberman Law Firm whom failed to provide adequate legal counsel in a timely manner. In brief, the facts of my case are as follows:Due to my sister ************************* whom began to do questionable actions regarding my mothers estate after her death. I hired *************************** to represent me in the issues that began with *************************. I believe, *************************** did not provided me with advice or guidance but only left me with more issues and never actually fulfilled any duties required of her.I've discussed with her supervisor my issues and still nothing was resolved with many more questions and inaccurate information provided more than once. Furthermore, failed to provide me with timely updates on the progress of my case, despite repeated requests from me.As a result, my case has been stalled for many many months, and I have yet to receive a resolution. I believe that she was negligent in their duty to represent me and failed to provide me with the necessary legal counsel that I deserved. She didn't have the right figures and outcomes. I repeatedly corrected her on her figures in the probate, which was just a matter of adding. She would promise to call me, but not at various times. She made the situation involving my mother's car more difficult for me to resolve. By handing me another incorrect amount and a bill, she prompted me to pay additional retainer. I gave her feedback that the bill is incorrect and not accurate information. She decided to quit as she has clearly complicated my situation with my sister even more than what she promised as being my support as my attorney.I believe that I am entitled to compensation.
