If you like being overcharged and strung along, this is the company for you. First American Home Warranty sent Comfort Makers to repair my HVAC system. The condenser would not turn on. The service tech said it was a wiring and capacitor issue. These things are covered on my warranty so no problem. Then Comfort Makers said they needed to clean the condenser coil that I had professionally cleaned less than six months ago. They wanted $250 for this service. (BTW you can get this done by another company for $150. You can also do it yourself but Comfort Makers won't honor that.) They insisted they needed to add a blowout valve to my condensate line on the unit in the attic. (My other three HVAC systems do not have this and my condensate line is not clogged.) They insist that they do this modification with every repair. They want to charge about $200 for this. They insist that this must be paid out of pocket even though my contract covers modifications. They want to charge me about another $200 for adding conduit even though that is also covered under my warranty contract. When I won't pay the $600+ up front, they hold off sending their findings to the warranty company for 5 days during 100+degree temperatures. After I dispute the charges and First American agrees that there should be no uncovered costs Comfort Makers refuses to service the equipment. I guess they don't feel like they get paid enough for warranty work. Robert is friendly enough on the phone but he won't be there after 4 p.m. and he doesn't like warranty work. 10 days after reporting the problem, First American has to send out another company. If your warranty company sends out Comfort Makers, make sure your condenser coil is spotless and be ready for some uncovered charges and slow service.

I was surprised when they were able to give me an appointment so fast. The technician showed up on time and only took about one hour to have my system working again. He was both friendly and knowledgable.

Terrible company estimated a repair of thousands to fix my AC and when my home warranty company wouldn't pay - we found another tech who came out - replaced the kickstarter and just charged us $95 for the service call and everything was fixed. 0 stars!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This company was contracted to me with my home warranty. My AC blower had went out and needed to be replaced. Once replaced, within 3 weeks, the AC blower was out again. When the technician came out, he told my husband "I knew this was going to happen, its the wrong blower". My husband was so upset, he just wanted the technician out of our home. When I contacted the supervisor about this matter, he denied it to me, proceeded to tell me every excuse in the book and would work on getting my AC fixed this week. Once dispatch contacted me, it was 8 days later. That puts me at 2 weeks for being without AC AGAIN! First time was also 2 weeks, but before our heatwave. I decided to contact my home warranty company to file a complaint against them. The customer service representative called Comfort Makers and someone told them a "temporary AC blower' was installed and it wouldn't be able to be fixed until said date. I was unaware that a temporary blower was being installed, I didn't pay for that and it was not on my paperwork. My home warranty company is also filing a complaint against the company. Unsure of what the temporary fix is, my family now has to make arrangements to stay elsewhere and with our dogs, since they almost died with this HOT Texas heat. Another company has to come out to diagnose our unit. Unsure of what future repairs will be and when a refund can be issued to me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
