I purchased tires and used Progressive leasing to finance them. I've had 7 previous accounts before and paid them all off with no issue. Car was wrecked, then my tires were stolen off of my car after it sat. I called, I sent in information and photos like asked and I was told my account would be "Closed" and I "Wouldn't be responsible" for the account. And then I start getting bombarded with emails about a past due account for 3 times the amount I owed previously. I called, and spoke to a woman named Megan, I explained and she just kept rudely stating that I owed these balances and demanded payment. Such a scam, they don't honor or follow through with anything they say and it takes forever to get through with them so good luck if you get disconnected.Business response

In an attempt to return items to Progressive Leasing, I was told that there wouldn't be any refunds issued. After a few minutes of conversation and "courtesy deals" were read back to me I then began to realize I paid twice more than what the cash price was for these items. After voicing my concerns of how I was misled and duped by false advertisements from this company, and after mentioning the FTC, that's when the tone of the conversation changed. Each time I voiced that I would just like to return the items and I would have someone get in contact with them, that's when the negotiations of return amounts changed. I was then told that the $800 or so amount was the amount I paid for both items and that that was what they were offering back and that was false. I was misled by Prog Leasing when the company advertised “no interest” payment plans and led customers to believe we would pay “same as cash” prices. This company has already had to pay back customers per the FTC because of this.Business response

Someone stole my social security number and used my address along with my social and leases $7298.30 worth of furniture. Everything was done online without proper identification. The bank information did not match mine or my phone number or my email address. Progressive leasing did not ask for any identification to show proof who was leasing the furniture as long as they had a social security number and a address and someones bank info to get the first payment they did not bother to verify the identity especially when everything was done online. Now they want proof to show that i DID not lease any furniture or give anyone my info to lease or buy anything like this. I have no idea who leased all this furniture and how they got a hold of my social. When i called progressive on 7/19/2021 when i found out about this i called at 9:15 am the rep said this is her second identity theft today. I feel this could be avoided if they verified identifications on people.Business response
